Poochini Pet Care

Amelia or one of her team has been pet sitting for my two dogs and two cats for many years. THey have always been perfect! I feel so safe leaving my pets with them. My pets have at times needed special foods, special treatment, or been ill, or been senior… and all of the special instructions are followed and my animals are well cared for. I also love that they walk the dogs and I can trust that they are safe.
They will send me just the right amount of texts and photos to reassure me all is well.
I am a diligent Mom and leave many instructions and worry when I am away, thank God for Poochini! I am confident my fur children and my house will all be well looked after!

I have been working with Amelia and her team for almost 8 years! I can’t imagine what those 8 years would’ve looked like without her. She has NEVER let me down… even with a difficult ever-​changing schedule and working out of town consistently. If a work trip is extended… or I have to leave earlier… all I’ve ever heard is…‘No prob… Gotchya covered!”. If I can’t get home in time on certain days and i need a last minute walk… I know I’ll get a very calm…‘No problem!”. It’s hard for me to point out one single thing. She looks after my two now, Maisie & Henry (who i’m pretty sure they love her more than me!) but she has been there for two of my beloved departed dogs as well. Zo could be a bit dog aggressive and Walter trusted NO-​ONE but me… until Amelia came along. Because she house-​sits for me so often… I believe she had an extraordinary hand in rehabbing my Walter and keeping him safe and loved till I got home again. I am forever indebted to her for the love and safety she has shown my hounds.

I’ve used a number of dog walkers over the years and Poochini is by far the best I’ve encountered. Amelia and her team are professional, responsive, and, in my experience, reasonably priced. They also love dogs, which is of course a must for any dog walker. I recommend them enthusiastically. They’ve also been amazing when I asked for walks on ridiculously short notice – they do everything they can to accommodate their clients – human and pooch alike!

I can’t recommend Amelia highly enough! My rescue pooch Jessica was a very people shy and generally anxious 140 lb French mastiff (go figure?) who absolutely LOVED Amelia and their walks together. Pretty much one of 3 or 4 humans whom she trusted completely. Over our 8 years together and my frequent travelling for work, Amelia was always able to work in with our often wonky schedule and last minute needs. Like many dog owners who live in LA, there are times or stretches of time when we simply can’t get our two on the walks they need. Whether its due to travel, long production hours or the 6 months I was unable to even hold their leashes due to a neck injury. Its these times that you need someone like Amelia, her team and her fantastically run business Poochini Pet Care.
I am so thankful we found Poochini Pet Care. I interviewed several other ‘dog walkers’ and I did not feel confident in any of them the way I feel about Amelia and her team. (one interviewee was intimidated by med/​large dogs???)
We don’t have the ‘easiest’ of furry monsters to walk. They are 40 and 60 lbs and for every amazing quality they have… they have their issues. Because of that we can’t trust just anyone to walk our dogs– it would irresponsible of us. The person who walks our dogs has to be strong, commanding and confident. Amelia is all of those things as well as hilarious and a joy to be around. We had been working very hard with trainer Jennifer McCarthy (
) and it was extremely important that any dogwalker/​sitter we brought into the mix continue to follow the commands and behavioral training we had worked so hard to put in place. We had a session with all of us present so Amelia could learn the ropes. She is amazing. I know we arent her only clients, and I’m sure every set of dogs comes with their own commands. Amelia is incredible at remembering them all and treating Izzy and Walter as if they were her only two. I know with all the confidence in the world that Amelia and anyone on her team would be able to handle any situation involving our dogs or other dogs on the street. This is hugely important to us.
In addition to all this are all the BONUSES that come with Poochini Pet care: They are professional. I’ll say it again… they are PROFESSIONAL. Mega bonus #1!
They provide you with this sassy little notepad to keep at your house and every time they come they make notes of how the walk went, who went the the bathroom (1 or 2!), What the behavior was, whether or not they were fed. etc etc. They are on time, available and responsible. They are fully equipped at arming and unarming the house alarm… yep, It’s the little things… but you know– when someone is coming and going at your house… its important. Poochini is SPOT ON with being awesome, professional, thorough and excellent at what they set out to do.

Poochini is the gold standard of the pet care world! Seriously, in Los Angeles, they’ve never been late… ever. Our pooches sit at the door and can’t wait for their daily strut.
Our labs, as for many others, are like our children. We work odd hours and travel often, meaning we need more than just dependable dog walkers
We have never hesitated going out town knowing the girls are with the best. There is a conspiracy theory that when the luggage comes out, our labs are smiling on the inside.

Amelia and Peter take such great care of my dog, Cole! Totally reliable and very flexible, I always feel like I can count on them. I never even have a second thought about Cole’s care either with his daily walks or when I go out of town and they petsit. They always err on the side of caution and call me if he seems sluggish or ill and I get a full written account of his activities with them everyday. As someone who doesn’t trust doggie daycares and is overly cautious with who she lets care for her dog, I could be described as a little neurotic when it comes to Cole. However, I trust Amelia and Peter implicitly and I know Cole loves them!
I can’t possibly recommend Poochini Pet Care any more highly. If you want your dog to be exercised, happy and well-​cared for without having to ever worry, you should definitely call Poochini Pet Care!
