This place has been around for a long time! Their burritos are excellent. Their burrito special is one that i prefer. All the other food items, especially their tacos dorados have always been on point. Try their tortillas de harina, they have different sizes! They are great for weekend breakfast burritos!

Not a lover, at all. I have now been to several of their locations and tried pretty much everything on their(limited) menu and just not loved any of it. Service is nice and the food comes out quickly, clean location. That was about all the positives here, the beef and potato is gross, seriously like canned dog food, I could not finish it. My husband and son didn’t really like their food either, think this is more a place you like because of the memories, and since I have none at Ramona’s, it’s just not for me.

I’ve been going to ramona’s for at least 20 years. Every one I turned on to this place has loved it. Recently they have hired a couple of Afro American young men who are absolutely the worst. The one on the register always seems to want to have lengthy personal conversation with guest while the line is 6 to 10 people deep waiting to order. The other young man who is preparing the orders has failed to correctly get it right on three different visits. Be advised I am a Afro American customer and I’m sad to say that because of these two gentlemen I will no longer be a guest at this location. The one on Crenshaw and Artesia in Gardena is a better choice by far.

Place is still just as amazing as ever. Prices on their burritos have skyrocketed, however. Their burritos are now $ 6 – 10 each, depending on your preference. They are starting to try out different menu items as well. They have tostadas, wet burritos, and Taco-Tuesday!

Food is on point. This restaurant has existed for decades now. Started off in a little spot in South Central LA on San Pedro Street and has expanded to other locations now. It’s Mexican food but with an American flare. Almost like tex mex style. Therir hard shell tacos that are stuffed with ground beef and tomato, salsa, lettuce, tomato, cheese. It is so good. The enchilada plate is my favorite. It comes with rice, bean and side of their house made flour tortillas. Most people come here for the burritos. People like to create their own which they are willing to do so. They do have special on certain days so check out website for more info. It similar to Tito tacos but I believe place beats it. I know titos is more popular than Ramona’s but place is the jam. I highly recommend.

I’ve been coming here for years and love the food. It’s comfort food for me. Personally I love the red chile burritos. They are loaded with refried beans, rice, cheese, and the meat in red sauce. You have the options for other fillings as well as add ons such as lettuce, tomato, sour cream etc. parking is ample.

They have good burritos and they’re pretty big too. I just don’t like the atmosphere, some of the other customers are ghetto and rude so it reflects the bad service on us. If they had a place to sit down it would be a better restaurant. I used to come all the time with my dad at our lunch and we used to eat in the truck, at least some outside tables or something

There’s a certain je né sais pas about Ramona’s frozen burritos. I’ve been eating these delicious frozen burritos since I could walk. Only recently have I had a fresh non frozen burrito and it is just as good but slightly better than the frozen burritos. It’s a little out of the way for me so I always keep a box or two of their frozen burritos in my freezer. One day I’ll have a freezer in the garage just for storing Ramona’s burritos just like my grandma and grandpa do. When I was a kid my cousins and I were always at my grandparent’s house. They’d baby sit us while our parents went to work. One day when my dad came to pick me up saw all the kids on the floor watching tv and licking frozen burritos. My grandma couldn’t read and gave us frozen Ramona burritos thinking they were popsicles!!! Sorry I thought that was worth sharing. But seriously they are so good I could eat it frozen. The recipe has not changed at all over the past twenty years or so. Whether you like hot sauce or non spicy Ramona’s is the real deal. Titos tacos is also my favorite. I consider Titos and Ramona’s to be very unique. They’re not loaded with rice and beans instead their burritos are packed with a gravy like meat mixture and beans and cheese depending on what you order. No lettuce inside or fresh tomatos, which I guess makes them ideal for freezing. If you’re hungry I suggest getting two burritos since they’re kind of on the smaller side. I usually eat two or three in one sitting and I’ve seen my dad eat four or five in 10 minutes, I don’t understand how people can eat so fast. If you haven’t gone then go and if you pass by this product in the frozen isle load up on it! They’re very affordable and extremely delicious. Mexican food makes the world go round.

I hate that you get charged for stuff that should BE on a burrito or plate like oh I don’t know Cheese and rice? Well either way, Ramona’s is always a go-to good food place. Though they need to lay off the pepper in the beef & potato burrito. IJS. I’ll take this over Tito’s Tacos any day.

Lived out here in L. A as a child and I continue to come back to this spot almost everytime I am out here. Usually order pints since we eat a lot. They are not on the menu but they are available. We order green chile, potato and beef, red chile and some beans. You can ask them to cook you some tortillas, and you can make the burritos at home. They charge about a quarter for heating them up, since we live far, we usually make our burritos at a park. Wish we were able to dine inside. Overall, great quality of food, amazing taste, and decent prices.

I’m vegetarian, so I ordered the chile relleno and it was great! I thought the place was closed because of all the gates on the doors, etc but turns out it’s just security measures, lol. It IS south LA! Not a great looking place or neighborhood but hey if you’re in the area, then drop by!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G burritos. I’ve even BIKED from Downtown(12 miles round trip) to get one, although the ride back afterwards is less appealing that the anticipatory ride to get one. I’ve picked up a box of ‘em for coworkers. And remarkably, I think they are fairly reheatable at home(I can’t say I usually try that with other burritos.) I prefer the green chile by a hair, but the red is good, too. It’s a small place with a counter and a line out the door. Hit the off peak for faster service. No seating, no waiter service, no amenities of any kind. Just cheap great food to go. Not a lot of parking, you may have to park on the street. In fact, you may end up eating your burrito on the curb. Yes, they charge extra for everything, but the charges are nominal, and the base price is so low that you can add everything and your burrito is about $ 4. I’m not a big fan of their frozen food(I can’t say I like much frozen Mexican food, and can’t see much reason for eating any of it frozen if you live in So Cal.) But their burritos here — MWAH, amazing. The only thing that would make them more amazing would be more authentic homemade tortillas. Then I’d just die from burrito bliss. Go, go now. Conquer the stigma of South LA and overcome your fears of the bars on the windows and just GO!
