Dr. Arase is a general surgeon. I was referred by my dermatologist to Dr. Arase for the removal of a rather large lipoma. It took only a couple weeks to get an appointment which seemed about normal for a decent doctor. The wait before I could see the doctor was the normal 30 to 45 minutes after the scheduled appointment time but that was okay. He quickly identified the lump as lipoma and gave me the much cheaper option to have the lipoma removed in office rather than out patient surgery. The procedure would cost 150 dollars vs. 3000 dollars done in office. I opted for in office. I made my appointment for a couple weeks out and came in at the appointed time. The wait was a little longer this time, about an hour but I didn’t mind especially since I was saving a bunch. The nurse and doctor came in and prepped me for surgery. They were both nice and helpful. I had plenty of local anesthesia and the procedure took about 45 minutes. During that time I chatted with Dr. Arase about his history and about how he became a doctor. He was very interesting. Then he stitched me up and sent me on my way. I’m recovering now and get the stitches out in two weeks. I should also note that the office nurses are super nice and deserve a shout out for that.

Dr. Randal Arase is the epitome of a truly great surgeon!!! — my mom was diagnosed w/an adenoma tumor in her parathyroid — scheduling for a surgery wasn’t hard — Dr. Arase successfully took out the tumor and now she’s in good recovery mode. Yaaaaaaay! — his staff were all helpful and the Dr. himself was very friendly and informative. He thoroughly explained the procedure and made my mom feel very comfortable about the surgery.

We went to this dr because he was recommended by Dr. Irie. My mother went there to check up a lump in her breast. After waiting 1 hour we finally got see Dr. Arase. He quickly diagnosed her with having Breast Cancer. During our visit with the Dr. we were interupted by 3 nurses or personnel who had to ask the Dr. questions. They barged in not even caring that the patient(my mom) was being examined, shocked and in tears over her diagnoses. I was too shocked with my moms diagnoses at the time to be upset over how unprofessional this was. I had called the office the next day to find out the results of the needle biopsy. Every time they were rude and heartless. I finally got a hold of the doctor who read the results to me. I get it that Dr. s do this everyday and don’t have time to be caught in their patients emotions but he had no care in the world. Not a care in the world or a little«good luck» or «take care». I think I get more heart talking to the pizza man when I call in for Dominos Delivery. So disappointing to actually have paid and to go to this Dr. The whole experience was unpleasant. I would give zero stars but Unilocal won’t let me. For those who do research online, I hope you come across this review and not to go here. There are so many great Drs in LA. For those who don’t know how to use a computer /internet… well a big sorry to them.
