Sameer Malhotra, Urologist

Where do I begin? I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Malhotra! I started seeing him in 2015 for an ongoing problem I have had for a few years. He set me up with all the right tests and within no time we confirmed what the problem was. I had surgery performed by Dr. Malhotra and the following day I went in to get checked out and he immediately knew I wasen’t feeling the way I should have. He (and his wonderful staff) were quick to check me out and make sure everything was ok, he even took time and spoke to my husband to answer all of his questions. I went back again after a few days feeling like a new woman! He is an energetic, knowledgeable urologist with a great personality. He completely gave me a new, more comfortable life! (On another note we liked him so much my husband is now a patient of his)!! If you need a Urologist I suggest giving him a try.

My wife saw Dr. Malhotra at the Advanced Urology Medical Center back in November of 2015 and I remember him being super professional and very patient in explaining to me what was going on after her surgery. He also took really amazing care of my wife post-​op. When my primary doctor suggested I see him for a problem, I didn’t hesitate. I haven’t been disappointed. Dr. Malhotra listens, provides very clear explanations of what is going on and is very thorough and professional. He’s one of those rare doctors where you know you’re getting great care and I can’t recommend him highly enough to those needing a great urologist.

I recently decided to have a vasectomy and found Dr Malhotra through this site. The whole experience was better than I expected. Dr Malhotra was extremely personable while still being thorough and professional. But even more impressive to me, I never had to go through the long wait time in the office or exam room you usually have to suffer through with most doctors. For every visit (at his Torrance office), the consult, the procedure, and the follow-​up, I was seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time. And, he did such great job, I had virtually no pain during my vasectomy, and none after. I never even needed the pain meds he prescribed.
This is by far one of the best personal healthcare experiences I’ve ever had!

I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to Malhotra. When my insurance changed, I went to him after being under the care of another urologist. He insisted on a bunch of tests even though my condition was obvious (enlarged prostate). One of the tests was to look into my bladder with a scope up the urethra. Very painful. Three days later I had a fever of 103 degrees. I called the office and the nurse asked me if I took all of the antibiotics. What antibiotics? Malhotra didn’t prescribe any! After the test he went into a hard sell to get me to authorize an invasive procedure. I asked about the recovery and he said, «Not bad». When I asked about side effects that I’d seen on Web MD and other sites he said, «Oh yeah, that does happen.» He comes across as Mr. Nice Guy but he’s in it for the bucks.
Than two months later I get a bill for more money. I had paid my co-​payment. I expect the doctor to accept what the insurance company pays. But that wasn’t enough for Malhotra. I called the office and didn’t get a return call. If I don’t pay my credit score will go down.
Believe me, there are better choices.

I caution patients never to go through what I just did. Im still sick and I had to still write this. I dont post much unless I feel passionately.
This dr. was suppossed to treat me for a kidney stone. I was in agonizing pain and he starts telling funny stories. I told him how bad my pain was and he was totally aloof. He didn’t want to get a ct scan right away. he even said I could come back next week.
The worst part is he prescribed a drug that I’m severely allergic too. I told the nurse I have a life threatening penicilin allergy .He called me on the phone literally yelling at me like I’m his wife. He called me pushy and said he didn’t need to «deal with this».He attacked me personally on all levels. He refused to give me any other choices of medicines and it was awful. I ve never been treated like that my whole life. I had to let others know. So sad

I went to this doctor with continuned pain and nausea after passing a kidney stone. Although I did not wait long in the waitingroom, I waited almost an hour to actually see the doctor. He reviewed my images, lab results, and the urine results obtained that day. Unsure of what was causing my pain and nausea he prescribed me antibiotics due to «trace» amounts of bacteria in my urine. When my culture came back negative, no one called to notify me to terminate the antibiotic regimen as standard practice suggests. I returned a few weeks later without improvement in my pain and nausea. He stated, «I just don’t know what to do with you.» He offered to enter with a camera to see if he could find the cause of the problem but did not suggest it since it could make the irritation worse. I suggested another CT and he odered it with hesitation since it probably wouldn’t show anything. However, i was looking for something to figure out the cause of the pain. Lastly, I asked him if maybe it would be best to see a nephrologist and he responded that maybe I should see a pain management MD. I was a bit upset since pain management docs are usually used in cases where the underlying cause of the pain is known and cannot be cured. I’m glad so many people had a great experience with him but he was not very useful to me.

RUN don’t walk. This staff is so rude and intolerable. The doctor does not listen and insists he knows what he’s talking about. I’m down a thousand dollars and I’m still dying of pain from an inflamed bladder. THANKS A LOT!!! If you are a woman DO NOT COME HERE. Omg. humiliating experience. Ghetto rude staff. Pathetic excuse for a business.

I have seen Dr. Malhotra a few times in the past, and once again recently. Every time I am not only impressed with his knowledge and thoroughness, but amazed by his bedside manner. In this day and age, it’s very nice when a doctor is willing to go the extra mile and explain to a patient in detail everything the patient needs to know. To me, it separates the good Doc’s from the best. Dr. Malhotra is clearly one of the best. And lastly, I’ve never had to wait more than a few minute which is always a plus during a workday!

Dr. Malholtra is the absolute BEST!!!

I went to this doctor to get a second opinion on a ultrasound scan of a hydrocele. I found him on Unilocal and just hoped that all his 5 star reviews were not «planted». After seeing him I am sure they weren’t, this was probably the best doctor, of any kind, I have ever seen in my 49 years of life. Intelligent, personable, and so good at taking time to explain everything and put me at ease. He showed me on charts what was going on with me, and expressed a sincere care for my health. He really made me comfortable. I would HIGHLY recommend this doctor to anyone with any type of urological concerns, and even for regular annual exams for guys over 50. The entire staff was friendly and really professional. I know it sounds like this review is too good to be real, but I really loved this doctor. If you go to him, you’ll see why.

Dr. Malhotra helped me with a condition I had for over 2 years. I had seen 3 other urologists and needless to say they didn’t help me… at least with curing my condition. Dr. Malhotra took the time to go the extra step and seemed to cared. I feel blessed to finally found Dr. Malhotra. He is confident and it shows in his attention to detail. I would recommend Dr. Malhotra for anyone that is looking for a really good Urologist.

I left behind two different S.O.B. urologists in two different facilities and finally settled on this guy. He’s really sharp, sincerely cares, and explains things well. He’s like a soap opera doctor, handsome devil (in case that’s a draw for you ladies with urology problems).
Without any testing he had intuited a correct diagnosis that my previous to docs had missed, despite sending me to about 15 CTs in three years. It’s amazing how nice competence can seem after dealing with those jerks.
