I came with very low expectations since I read reviews before going but it was far better than I expected! It’s a fun time if you keep a open mind! They opened the doors a half hour late and the menu is limited but they always have free entrance deals and some of the comedians are actually really funny. The set up Of the place is nice too. I can defiantly see how the place will be based on the night you go and the crowd. But it’s defiantly worth a visit!

Terrible we chose to sit on the couches in the back and the host came and told us that area was closed because they wanted everyone closer there was 12 people moved then the admission was «free» But you have to get 2 item minimum the host said if we didn’t we have to go !? at that moment we decided to leave based on the overpriced items and our bad service before the show started

Try it out with some of my friends because I got a text for 5 free tickets to this place. Didn’t like that you have to buy minimum two drinks per person. The host was alright for an old dude and from the comedians that perform, like two of them were just terrible. I did had a good laugh overall but I don’t think I’ll go back even if it’s free admission.

Terrible… just terrible.
No funny comedians, unorganized staff, obnoxiously terrible host, overall a waste of time.
I went simply because of the free tickets but I won’t be going back.
There are much better stand up comedy places in LA.

Spam — or unwanted messages to email accounts and texts to mobile phones and other mobile devices — can be intrusive and costly. Received unsolicited spam text on my cell phone which I don’t know how they got a hold of? After replying ”STOP”, I guess they thought it was ‘funny’ to continue sending it. Unbelievable.

The funniest thing about Shaky Town is how they think unsolicited spam text messages will help their business. Hilarious!

If you are not expecting stand-​up comedy superstars playing on an internationally known stage like the Comedy Store of The Second City, then you may very well find this small local venue a real treat.
I came here to see up-​and-​coming comedian Robert Gold. He was 4^th in a line-​up of about 10 comedians, all of whom made me laugh at least a little.
This is the type of place where future stars are first discovered.
Good Extras: They serve drinks at reasonable prices (for a club); there is a bar in front just in case you need to get away for a moment from the one-​liners; if you are hungry they have a decent bar menu with prices for things like chicken fingers at around ten bucks; and just in case you smoke they actually have a gated street front patio with bar service that allows smoking (a rarity in North Hollywood).
Door price is ten bucks cash per person. Credits will take you the rest of the way once inside.

If i could give this place zero stars I would. I got contacted via text by eventbrite– which is an app that advertises shows and what not via the internet. Anyway I got a text telling me I got free tickets to this comedy club. So I invited my Co worker and her boyfriend who lives pretty far away to join my husband and I on a fun night out. We arrive… and the ticket guy looks at me as if I’m on Crack and he knows nothing of an app or of the tickets I was contacted about. This guy by the name of Mike who was «renting» the club for the evening was willing to honor my husband’s and I’s ticket but not the other 2 tickets I had gotten for my girlfriend and her boyfriend… seriously? I wasn’t seeking to come to this Janky comedy shithole, they sought me out so yea … I gave the place the benefit of the doubt since most comedy places in and around LA suck now… and then you’re not gonna honor all 4 tickets I got? That’s just obsurd. Never ever again will I come to this place. Should’ve known with the 1 and a half star… shakytown.. more like shithole and a hole town to me! I wouldn’t come here if you paid me!!! I will be contacting the owner JACK about this crap. I’ve never ever been treated like an absolute pile of crudd. Eventbrite users beware. This business feels that they can send unsolicited spam text to your cell phone. Why on earth would I ever respond to such below the waist sales tactics? Must be desperate times for comedy clubs in No Ho. The must really suck for the poor comedians looking for a break.

I regret coming here. This location used to be great when it was called HaHa (the HaHa staff was amazing and friendly). But now, I can’t warn you enough to stay away, or go down the street to HaHa Comedy Club.
Shaky Town should be called Shake Me Down because I felt like a bully had grabbed me by my legs upside down until my pockets were empty. Luckily I didn’t try any of the food, but the $ 12 cocktail was weak and tasted like cheap mango juice that could be borderline expired. A bottle of water? $ 5 of course.
Fine, let’s put aside the financial thievery for a moment and focus on the comedy. Well, I timed it and no comedian was on stage for longer than 6 minutes. They each had time for about 3 or 4 jokes. One or two of those would actually get a laugh or two. Most of them looked like it was their first time on stage (aside from the Israeli-​German comedian who KILLED IT in a good way). The rest looked stoned. Seriously.
I honestly went to support a friend (one of the performances) but even if he was performing here again I would not attend. Never ever ever.

Went to the early show 8 p.m. Sloppy, unprofessional guys at the door took the cover charge $ 15 (which is pricey, considering there were no well known comics in the show — just a bunch of beginners — most of which weren’t funny at all and some were so crude & dropping the «F» bomb so much for shock value, I was cringing). The guy «comics» talked about being stoned, drunk, and were telling rape jokes. The couple of girl «comics» were just talking about their vaginas. There’s a mandatory 2 drink minimum. That’s where they get you. They charge twice as much as other comedy clubs in LA. Beer & wine start at $ 12 — $ 14 for each drink! Just 2 small water bottles are $ 10, plus tax. As a bonus, my waitress had a major attitude. Management obviously doesn’t care about their paying customers (in my opinion), so don’t waste your time or money here.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DIVE OUTFIT. THEY SPAM YOUR PHONE day and night with their stupid offers. I have never signed up for this place. Never heard of them. Who steals your number and spams text messages??? STAY AWAY! I would never come here EVER! I am filing a complaint with the FCC against this place? SPAMMERS!

I received a SPAM text from this place offering «free admission». What a scam. What a dive. Do not go to SHADY Town Live! Do not trust any organiztion that uses SPAM for adversiting. This is really low, do not waste your time or money

This is the kind of place that forces you to purchase two items on the menu on top of the entry fee. Don’t even bother to ask the waitress to split a bill for you, she’ll make you do it yourself. Oh, and if you complain? She’ll give you your change back in pennies.
By the way, the comedy consists of rape jokes about six year olds, and a bunch of white people saying the n-​word. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Great comedians, good food, friendly staff, comfortable seating, fantastic entertainment.
