Shandon Photography

Shandon is amazing. Brilliant. GENIUS.
1. He’s got «the eye.» Like, I’m pretty sure his eyes were hand-​crafted by an artist angel in heaven. He knows how to make you look your best. Angles :))))))
2. Super, professionally lit. I think he can probably shoot at any hour independent of what’s going on outside; his studio lives in constant lighting perfection!
3. His backgrounds are everything. I didn’t know background was so important until I saw Shandon’s photos. If you look closely at his work, you will see that most of his headshots are shot with a suggestive background. I particularly loved that he had office furniture, and office-​like-​walls to create an office atmosphere when I requested a business savvy look.
4. He gets you in the right mood. For example, I needed to look like a customer service rep in one of my photos. Shandon had me talk like one; carry myself like one; smile like one. He made me a customer service rep. And you can see it in my pictures!
5. Multi-​talented. Okay, I don’t know how to do my own hair for some reason, but he knew how to do it and did it he did on top of everything else he was doing. HE GAVE ME AN ELSA-​BRAID. THAT’S SO HARD!
6. Awesome Personality too :)
Pablo (retoucher) also ROCKS! For some reason the bone structure on the right side of my face is naturally super apparent in a bad way (probably from that time when I fell on my face), but Pablo did an amazing job smoothing it out in photoshop. He is awesome. Also, he is great at understanding exactly what you want done (which we all know can be tricky to say in words). Thanks Pablo!

I brought my teen daughter to Shandon for updated head shots once she had her braces removed. After having done quite a bit of research, I followed my instincts and listened to all the positive reviews here.
They are all 100% accurate! First, Shandon’s assistant (Grant) contacted me within 24 hours of sending out an email. He set up our appointment for the following week and was a great communicator throughout the whole process. He is helpful, friendly and ready to answer any questions you might have.
The location is a bit strange and out of the way, but I was given very clear directions on how to get there. Once inside the studio, Grant made every effort to make us feel comfortable.
I sat separately from where Shandon was conducting the shoot, but could hear the great rapport he had with my daughter. He was not hokey, or corny to try to get her to smile and laugh. Most of you know what THAT can be like. Also, I was amazed at how many specific and different looks he was able to capture with just a few wardrobe changes.
I only wish I’d known about Shandon a few years ago. I wouldn’t have wasted money on the previous photographer we hired. My daughter has never looked so good in pictures!
You will not be disappointed!
*One more note! We did choose to have hair/​makeup done and it was totally worth it! It’s an extra $ 150 (no credit card).

Shandon has an open heart be able to communicate and clarification on everything during the photo session. He emphasizes to enjoy with an objective in every image. He was very zealous to learning sign language from me. He seemed like he wanted to be sure we are on the same level. Shandon has great communicate skills. Great working with him! I would go to him again.

This is my second shoot with Shandon. All these reviews can’t be wrong and there not. I had the last shots from Shandon for soooo long. I kept asking my reps if i should get new ones and they said NO. They were too good. And were getting me in. The time came for new ones and i went back. There’s a reason he’s one of the top recommends of LA’s best agents. In addition to all the technical stuff, Shandon is a wonderful director. The experience feels like an amazing acting exercise more than a headshot shoot. And when you’re done all of the drama/​humor/​warmth/​sex appeal… whatever you are going for… is right there in the shots. Don’t think twice.

Shandon is an amazing photographer! His staff is professional and he’s so much fun to work with. He gives you his full attention. He truly captures the person he photographs. He first photographed my daughter 2 years ago and we absolutely LOVED those pictures! We just had them done again and we are thrilled and excited with how amazing they came out! Not one bad picture! 5 STARS ++

I’m literally sitting in the parking lot in my car after an afternoon of shooting with Shandon! He is #AMAZING to work with! Having been on countless sets in front as well as behind the camera … I appreciate all the attention to detail Shandon gives expertly. A wonderful director which ensures each shot captures you relaxed, yet activated so there is something going on in the eyes. I can’t wait to see my new head shots. I have a sneaky suspicion it will be challenging to narrow down to the top picks.
Also Michelle who works with Shandon is #Amazing & very detail oriented. Her «let’s get down to the nitty gritty business details» is very thorough & clear. You might be taken by surprise with her occasional infectious laughter that will have you in stitches!
5 Star All the Way!

Every step of the way, I was amazed by the attention paid to every detail. My first impression with Robert put me at ease that all the logistics would be handled. He was kind, courteous and ever so efficient. When it was Shandon’s turn, he certainly lived up to his AMAZING reputation! My daughter felt immediately comfortable with him and had a blast playing with him all afternoon. The icing on the cake was that my proofs were in my inbox by the time we got home! Whaaat?! We are beyond thrilled with the images he captured and thankful for such an amazing experience! We’ll be back!

I had a great time at the studio and my pictures look AMAZING!!! I wish I would have found Shandon sooner.

Shandon is beyond talented and über professional. My 9 year old daughter was at complete ease with him. He took his time and the results were perfect photos! He really focused on her beauty and her big Hollywood agents label him their number 1 go to guy for amazing head shots! He definitely lives up to his name! We are very happy with his photos of her. Their office manager Robert was also very helpful and informative. We received our disk in two days and a link of the photos 2 hours after the shoot. Thank you to Shandon, their amazing makeup artist Hanako, and Robert.

Shandon was recommended to me to shoot our 4 year old son. From the moment I spoke with Robert who runs the front desk to the day of our photo shoot, everything was wonderful. They are both beyond welcoming and professional, and Shandon has a warmth and talent that brought the shine out in our son’s eyes and made truly beautiful photos. It is not surprising at all to see the list of 5 star reviews… they are clearly well deserved.

When it came time for me to get new headshots (longggg overdue) I knew I would spend too much time searching for the best. Living in Hollywood you know that searching for THE best could take forever and every one is «the best». I needed new shots and I needed them yesterday. So when my manager HIGHLY recommended Shandon (It was the one and only name she wrote down), for the first time, I searched no further.
I not only saved endless hours wasting time, but I had the BEST experience. From the first phone call with Robert, who works in Shandon’s office, to the follow up after I left, I felt like I was in the best place I could be. I WAS in the best place I could be and continue to be because I got some kick ass photos with work with…
When you set up your appt, you receive very detailed instructions on what to expect and how to prepare so there are no surprises. Robert is such a calming voice on the other side of the phone and being that this is an investment and your «Calling Card» for your career — he gets it and he’s patient. Very patient with all the questions. They want you to be happy.
The studio is immaculate, drinks if you are thirsty, coffee if you need a boost, music to put you in the mood (your choice) and endless backgrounds. No need to shoot outside — he has those backgrounds too.
Makeup — definitely go for the makeup. It’s puts you at ease, prepares you and makes you look GREAT! Sara Kuhl did my makeup and I have never felt and looked more natural. She is fun, brilliant, quick, efficient and knows her stuff. Another person there who truly LOVES what she does and it shows.
AND finally the man. Shandon… ahhh Shandon. He is your director behind the camera. He gets to know you first, asks questions, learns your goals and what you are after. He makes you feel at ease, opens you up and let’s you do your thing. He is a true artist behind that camera and is so passionate about the craft he has chosen that you feel extremely comfortable and then you forget you have a clicking lense focused on you. It’s fun. It’s exactly what it should be and the results show.
I could go on an on but don’t want to take any more of your time. Look no further…

Shandon has such a warm, welcoming way that he makes his actors emote and express themselves beautifully, in so many poses. He brings out the best in the young, 20 somethings and those even more experienced. Shandon’s head shots capture the emotional and natural inner beauty of those with whom he works and, wowza do the images Pop! Now, about Robert, the studio manager – the most delightful host. I could hang out with him forever but eventually it got dark outside so we reluctantly left. Highly recommend. We have been with Shandon for 10 years and would go nowhere else!

WOW! What can I say that would be enough to describe how amazing Shandon is??? If you want headshots that will blow your mind and want to get your money’s worth, Shandon is THE one. He did my 7 year old daughter’s headshots and capture every nuance of her vibrant personality and multiple «looks». He guided her all the way and really related to her on her level. She ADORED him! Don’t even think about spending your money anywhere else…
Also, his assistant Grant is organized and professional. Great experience all around!
