Silverlining Designer Resale

This place has the best of everything for amazing prices. I always get so much and more when I come here. The staff is also the most helpful and so genuine. Every time I come here for one thing and leave with several. Silverlinings is the hidden gem of Culver City/​Marina Del Rey and I love it.

Love shopping at this hidden gem. The girls there are always so helpful and I never walk out of the store empty handed. You can also donate your clothes here and it’s going towards a good cause! So if you’re looking for a designer resale boutique Silverlining should be your go to!

I don’t know what I should expect from them. All I can say is that I was so lucky I could find a money filled parking meter in front of the store, so I didn’t need to spend any money on browsing at his store.

This place is amazing! They have it all, it’s a great place for high end clothing at an inexpensive price. Every time I’ve been there I was treated so kindly and while shopping around the store they immediately come over to take the time to ask me ‘What am I looking for?”. They always take there time to help me find an item for the whatever occasion. In addition to their clothing items, they also carry name brand shoes that range from flats, sandals, and high heels. What I also love about this store is that they ‘re always doing some kind of promotion that makes my experience enjoyable and fun while shopping. If you haven’t stepped in yet, I highly recommend you do.

This place is awesome– clean, organized, and fair prices. Definitely looking forward to coming back here.

I was walking along in my neighborhood when the words Designer Resale caught my eye. So I stopped in and right away I knew this place was going to be a big problem for me.
I am addicted to shopping resale/​consignment and Silverlining has a beautiful selection of clothes to choose from. In addition they have so many shoes and they take the time to organize them by size! I detest searching through a sea of shoes to try and find my size so I appreciate the effort for sure. I’ve been in twice and the first time around I was given a little card for $ 5 off my next purchase.
Even more awesome things: They are nonprofit so off their profit goes to charity which I love, they had a punch card for every $ 25 you spend and when you reach a certain level you get a discount, they are friendly and I even witnessed the clerk personally helping several of her regulars by showing them items she thought were their style.
One negative point: Their pricing was a bit inconsistent. I picked up a FCUK sweater dress for $ 14. The retail price was probably $ 120-​$ 150 when first purchased so that’s fine. However, it was hanging next to an H&M sweater dress that was priced at $ 12. I own that H&M dress and bought it for $ 20.95 when it first came out. That’s just very inconsistent.
But whatever, this place will still get my business. Also, they have free parking!

I’ve driven by this place so many times and finally went in yesterday. While there is really good stuff here, you have to be patient and look through everything because its fairly disorganized. Some sun dresses are in one area and some sun dresses are in a completely different room. That being said, the store is clean and inviting with cute dressing rooms! The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Only giving four stars because I wish their layout and displays were more organized.
There is also a parking lot in the back!

I’ve now been to Silverlinings twice and I plan on making it a regular part of my thrift shopping rotation. The selection at Silverlinings is a step above shopping at goodwill, I find myself sorting through a lot less junk/​worn out things than other thrift stores. There is a whole section of designer finds that are very very reasonably priced.
I recently visited during their summer sale (75% off summer items and 25% off everything else) and I walked away with:

As an avid thrifter, it’s nice to see Silverlining still going (and growing) strong the past few years. They carry quite the variety for your individual style, size and shape. The clothes and shoes are organized, CLEAN and easy to look through. You can tell they take the time to look through and organize the donations. There are some great finds for a few $$ and some designer duds for a bit more … and they have SALES! Currently you can spin a wheel to get a certain % off your entire purchase. Worth taking the trek out. Parking is decent.
Of course, as others have mentioned, the proceeds go to support The Help Group, which, in itself, is awesome!

Check this place out! Cute spot, lots of clothes, clean, dressing rooms. Proceeds go to support The Help group for autistic children! I found great dresses here for spring with discounts and offers and cheap prices (30% off my already 50% off tag ect.;) free scarf w purchase ect…
The woman working there was so wonderful and attentive and happy to be there. Compared to other second hand stores in the area, this one has my attention and all of my donations from now on. ;) overall great experience, and i will be back often!

I’m a big fan of Thrift, Resale and Consignment. It’s green, I’m «thrifty», but need my fix of new stuff every now and then.
Don’t go expecting to score everytime.
I have left empty handed. BUT
biggest scores were #1) 3 pairs of Ed Hardy tennis shoes for my son.
e wears shoes to shreads.. so i hate paying a lot for what ends up being disposable shoes.
#2)James Jeans ($ 24 i think) for me. fits like they were made for me.
#3) Cashmere sweater $ 15 — small hole — easy fix.
BIG PLUS~ store supports a school for Autistic Kids. As happy as I am shopping at Goodwill, lets not kid ourselves. Goodwill is a big business. would rather support a local charity.

Silverlining is a very decent thrift store. I would say most of the items are mid range in quality. It’s nice that they have an abundance of smaller sizes. The items are generally in pretty good shape.

I’ve been going here for a while now and love it! Great clothing and super friendly staff. Totally recommend!

I’ve driven by this place a ton of times and always thought the store window looked really cute, but I’m not that into thrift stores so I never went inside. I was going to meet my friend at Alibi Room (yummy Korean-​Mexican fusion place down the street) but misjudged traffic and was way too early, so I decided to stop by and check the place out. It has a cute boutique feel, which is very unlike other thrift stores I’ve been to. Overall, the place is a little small but has a decent selection with some fancy designer labels at very cheap prices.
You can’t help but like the place knowing that it’s a vocational training site for people with special needs. Very cool! You don’t find that any other thrift store, that’s for sure. So it’s at least worth a peek, if you’ve ever been like me and driven by a ton of times but never stopped.

Maybe it’s just me, but of the very few items I found and deemed worthy to try on, none of them were flattering… BOOOO.
I guess that’s probably why people dropped their stuff off there to begin with, b/​c of course if it was flattering — why wouldn’t you KEEP it?!
It’s overall dirty (in my opinion), like literally — floors seem like they haven’t been swept since they opened, and the dust bunnies are mating and giving-​birth while you’re considering your bare feet touching the floor to try on a potentially new pair of pants.
Eh. Probably won’t go back…

Wow! Silverlining is one of the best resale, thrift stores in Los Angeles. I found so many super cute things that I wish I lived in Culver City so I could go more. Brand names, clean, modern clothes that I think anyone of any age would love love love. Bright and cheery I spent 2 hours in the store and barely knew it. Beyond the great selection and super reasonable prices, all their proceeds go to helping kids with special needs. A much needed cause! Win win. win win. Not only did I walk away with some fabulous finds BUT I also helped good kids. Overall fabulous shop!

Decent selection and nice cloths and bags. But very low quantity of swim gear. Was all around an ok store. Nothing special.

I’d been driving by this store, but recently checked it out when I was looking for a fancy dress for a wedding. So happy I did!
Silverlining is a cute little store with clothes of all brands and varieties, organized by type and size. Instead of the thrift store feel/​smell, it’s set up like a cute little boutique, with nice fitting rooms and plush chairs. Even the shoes are displayed on shelves like a fancy shoe store, and the jewelry is arranged on little stands. Everything is well-​priced… the dress I found was $ 18 (I will refrain from comments about $ 20 in my pocket… I will refrain), a Banana Republic dress was $ 16, and more high-​end designer items are priced along the lines of $ 30 — $ 40.
The 2 staff members I encountered are incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. It’s just a nice place to shop, plus you get your karma points by supporting The Help Group, where all proceeds go.
I really, really, really wanted to give them 5 stars. However, I wish they had more selection (there were only a few racks of dresses, and the store is fairly small in general). I also asked for a dress to be put on hold for the next day (payday for those of us working for the man). I got off work, rushed over to the store before they closed, got distracted and began looking at the rack, and found my dress. Someone had put it back, after setting it on hold for me. The saleswoman apologized, but I would have been very disappointed if I’d rushed over from work and someone else had bought it.
Street parking is plentiful in the area. Definitely worth checking out!

I spent the entire week indoors, on my computer, job searching. I really wanted to get out of the house without having to spend much money. I glance over at my facebook page where my sister posted a flyer on my wall for the grand opening of the new location for Silverlining. Well, I’ve been in major need to update my wardrobe so I figured I’d take a break and go for a drive.
I walk in and the friendly staff welcomes me. The speakers play jazz music at a medium-​low volume. Clothes are organized by style, size, and color. The stylish boutique atmosphere makes me second guess if the prices are affordable. I begin looking at the price tags…
«Wait, what? This dress is $ 5? and so are these pair of jeans? Oh wait, I’m in the clearance section…» I move to the other racks. «This top is $ 10? and so is this skirt?» Then I move to the designer rack. «Oh hey, all of these prices are super affordable too!»
I head to the dressing rooms. Wait, let me rephrase that… FANCY dressing rooms. Well lit, nice curtain, chic ottoman, and full length mirror.
After browsing through all the racks, I decide to call it a day. Three tops and a skirt = $ 32!!! The lady who rang me up (and might be the store owner or manager) was super nice and chatty. She hooked me up with a frequent buyer card. You get a stamp for every $ 20 that is spent. On the 10^th visit, you get $ 25 off your purchase!
Silverlining is also part of The Help Group. It serves as a vocational training center for students with autism and other social and communication disabilities. So not only am I saving money while shopping but I’m also supporting a good cause!
