Fantastic. I now have awesome hair and a new salon to frequent. I sent my fiancé in right after me to get a haircut. And he looks awesome as well, thanks to these fine people. Xoxo

This whole crew has become like family to me. Tea is the only person I will ever let cut my hair again. I don’t ever get color in my hair but everyone I ever see leaving there always looks happy, excited, and fresh to death!

So I am one of those people who is hair bi polar. I change it from dark to light to every color in between ALL THE TIME. I tried going to a few salons, but they never gave me anything I hadn’t done on myself already. I decided to treat myself on my birthday with a make over so I booked an appointment with Miss Teacup. holy crap. I am never going to anyone else for my crazy hair again. I gave her free reign to do whatever she wanted and ended up with magical mermaid hair. It was so magestic people would literally stop me to take pictures… this happened multiple times.
The second time I went to Miss Tea I came in with EXTREMELY DAMAGED brown box dyed hair (oops). I asked her to do whatever she could knowing that the damage was too intense to do anything cool to it. Wrong. Once again I ended up with magical unicorn hair. I basically handed her a giant ball of damaged poop and asked her to make something and BOY DID SHE DELIVER. Now that’s true hair talent!
Anyways, if you’ve ever wanted to look like those cool pinterest pictures of mermaid hair, GO TO SIRENS! I promise you won’t be disappointed :)
The only downside is that parking sucks on Sundays because of the farmer’s market, so go early on Sundays. that’s all!

My regular hairdresser shuddered when I told her I needed blue hair for a role and then I remembered Sirens from years ago when I lived in the neighborhood. Kristin did an awesome job and put together an amazing bright blue green that is better than I would have imagined. It’s comfortable in there and everyone is nice. I don’t need the blue after this week but might keep it up. Or try purple… Either way– I’d come back here 100%.

After a year and a half of jumping salons and being on the receiving end of harrowing hair from stylists and colorists who CLEARLY have no business working a chair, Unilocal turned me onto this little gem! Ryan worked his wizardry and transformed my unmanageable haircut and straw-​like texture into a soft, sexy look. Im finally not afraid to leave my house without a hat or a ponytail. So happy to say that I’ve found my stylist for the long haul!
Shared a lot of laughs with the rest of the salon, and the prices were very reasonable. Ryan is a magician!

If you hate getting complimented on your hair every time you leave your house (and I mean every single f*cking time) then don’t go here.
But if you do love having almost annoyingly cool hair then come on over!
Ryan has been working his magic on my shaved, now pixie, head for over two years now. This last year I finally decided to do color (I was terrified of destroying my hair since it’s naturally dark) and I’m honestly probably never going back. He’s been so careful in getting my hair light enough yet keep it soft which with thirsty, curly hair is hard as is. At this point I just tell him to surprise me and it’s always magical.
Prices here are fair, especially considering the quality.
Parking is unrestricted on Clinton if you’re going in for more than a cut!

My husband and I both get our haircut here. Our stylist is Tea. Tea is the best! Great haircuts, excellent colorist! She is honest, great to work with, and really listens to her customers! I highly recommend this place and Tea!

Spent way too much to have my hair fade back to what it was after two weeks. The hair salon is a bit outdated technology-​wise and I wound up sweating the entire time I was in the chair. My stylist also kept leaving for smoke breaks during my process, as well. Overall, my hair was just «okay» and then faded back to what it was before. I had high hopes for this place but it was just a waste of my money. I know my hair was over-​processed at the time, but I would have rather been turned away with some advice versus dropping $ 200+ for nothing.

Let me start this review off with a question: have you ever gone to a salon ready for a change, hoping your stylist will be on board, only to get the exact same haircut, just shorter? Have you gone to a stylist with an edgy request, maybe you want to go hot pink or get an undercut, only to have your stylist politely tell you you don’t actually want to do that? Have you ever gone in asking for something only to get decidedly Not That Thing?
Then come to Sirens.
Ever since my first appointment phone call this salon has been a source of catharsis. I’ve been trying to convince a stylist to give me a side shave for over a year, looking for a salon that was both edgy and professional enough to do a great job. The last salon I went to, which was sporting some really cool dye jobs and plenty of tattooed employees, ensured me that «oh, no, honey, you don’t want to do that.» After asking me what I wanted done on my visit at Sirens, I spluttered, «I don’t know, maybe shave the side of my head, I’m just tired of looking like a normal human,» fully expecting an «oh, okay, we can discuss that when you come in» sort of answer. Instead, I got such an enthusiastic response I can’t post it on the internet. Immediately I knew I was going to like this place.
The best part of Sirens isn’t their enthusiasm to try WHATEVER you’re into though. Well, that’s half of it. The other half of the best part, is that they’re really, REALLY good at it.
I wanted to go white, which as anybody who’s ever used bleach before can tell you is An Endeavor. We did two appointments, and my hair is as soft and healthy as ever. They use quality products and know the science backwards and forwards. My cut is also impeccable, and my transformation to magical unicorn rockstar is complete.
Tea, Ryan, and Luna are the magicians responsible for my transformation, and I couldn’t recommend them more. Oh yeah, that’s the third half of the Best Part (my math is totally sound), the humans who work here are A+. Way to be the best, guys!

I originally met Ryan at Floyds but when he left for greener pastures to work at Sirens, I had to follow! He is a master of hair, especially when it comes to coloring. While with Ryan, my hair has been brown, black, blue, purple, pink and now blonde! Each time he has colored or cut my hair, I come out of that salon feeling and looking better than ever. Not to mention, he is also very friendly and pretty funny (I mean, I am funnier but he is a close second). Also, I absolutely love this salon and the people that work there. Everyone is so friendly and willing to strike up a great conversation. Needless to say, getting your hair done here will never be boring! Also, they have free soda (SCORE!).

Just got my hair done here by Ryan! He’s fabulous! We did a vibrant green bob and I’m absolutely OBSESSED!
He’s always a joy to work with and this salon is the absolute perfect fit for him. Everyone here is so sweet!

I have been getting my haircut by Ryan Hessberger for about six years now. I met him in Bakersfield and and have followed him since. Now matter what I ask him to do he always does a great job and is always excited about doing it. He is a genius with color too. Ladies and gentlemen take it from another professional stylist he is amazing! I’d recommend him to everyone! The location is really cool. It’s right off of Melrose so there’s lots of great lil shops around. Parking is a lil tricky but easy enough to find. Definitely a thumbs up. Thank you so much Ryan. See you in two weeks!

Best place for rock star hair. I always LOVE getting my hair done by Kristin and Teacup!!! Always better than I imagined.

I have brought my little daughter here for 2 years now and we definitely intend to come back for many years to come. We come for great cuts and great color. Tea (cup) provides useful tips. She worked with my 9 year old daughter for 4 hours this weekend and was always friendly and patient. My daughter is absurdly happy, and therefore so am I. It feels a bit expensive to me, but it won’t deter me from coming back.

Ill try to make this short and sweet. I had an appointment today since i finally had the guts to take the plunge and color my hair a crazy color! I was thinking blue and a greenish color.
Procedure: If you have dark hair like me, prepare to be here for a while. The process is long, but it is so worth it! Tommy first started out by parting my hair to see which parts were going to get bleached. He asked me if what he was doing was fine with me. I really appreciated this! Tommy worked on my hair and he made sure that every single strand of hair was in the right place. This is no exaggeration. I wanted 2 colors, so he ensured that the color placement would be nice. I could tell that he wanted to make it perfect, and it definitely shows in the finished look! Fast forward through bleaching and rinsing it off. It was time for coloring. Woohoo! One color at a time. I was getting really excited at this point. After color application and waiting for a bit, it was time to rinse. He took off the dye that went on my skin, as I was walking around, my hair touched my face haha. He then dried my hair to ensure that all of my hair that was bleached was covered. Then, done!
Atmosphere: Aside from Tommy, 2 other stylists were there, Kristin and Tea. They were all very welcoming and very kind.
Parking: Street. There’s tons of metered parking, so you should be fine.
Overall, they really listen to you and have amazing suggestions if you have no idea what to do with your hair (my situation). I’ve only had the color for a couple hours, and I have already gotten compliments on how nice the color was done on my hair! I was surprised since even my mom, who isn’t as open minded as I am, really liked it too! I cannot wait to get my hair colored again! :) Thinking of adding a splash of purple on there!

I have to update this to 5 stars! I recently moved to NYC and don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone. I was back in town for work and got the best haircut I’ve had in a while. Plus, it was nice to walk back in like it had been 6 weeks, not 6 months.

Miss Teacup did my hair today and I love it! She was cool and didn’t push products on me like at other salons. I’ve been coming here off and on for years and the stylists are all great, I always have a good experience. Miss Teacup patiently listened to my vision and she delivered exactly the hair I had in mind. I also like the hair accessories they have which are unique even for Melrose.

Kristen is super sweet and great at what she does.
I used to come here and get all sorts of fun color extensions.
My husband has also come here to get a haircut and was very happy with the style and cut.
Would recommend if you want some fun colored extensions.

I wanted to get my hair done because we were in a house with rain showers. now rain showers look cool but omg are they horrible at washing hair. I felt like I just had a greasy mess for days. no water pressure! anyway looking on Unilocal for places right by the house we rented I found this place among a few others. I just had my husband call trying to get me in as I got my makeup done. so I came and it was great :) I know they have those blow dry bars but I wanted a place like this.

Mandy Jo did my hair and I love it! I have had BRIGHT orange hair for the last three years, but I could no longer keep up with the roots, I tried at home to use a box dye to cover the top half of my hair in a purple/​cherry colour… but I just made a mess of myself! I called about a dozen salons and they all either wouldn’t touch my hair cause of the orange or will really rude about the damage I had done to it (I already felt bad enough thank you)!
Finally I called Siren and they were able to get me in the NEXT DAY for a quick fix! Everyone was super sweet and made me feel very comfortable and helped me with what options I had! They even had my shade of orange for a quick colour touch-​up! I’m super in LOVE with this place! And already can’t wait to go back for a haircut!
