We believe the impact of a theatrical experience should resonate beyond the theater door. As an ensemble of artists, we integrate complex design and performance, producing theatre that embraces the friction between emotion and intellect. Through a process of discovery, collaboration and creative risk-​taking, we illuminate and amplify universal questions. To that end, we make an earnest commitment to the artistic sustainability of the greater community.

History

Established in 2000.

We are an LA-​based theatre company. In addition to our own productions each year we offer Company Creation Festival, Solo Creation Festival and numerous SoSE Host productions throughout the year. Come on down to the theatre!

Intimate space showcasing rare and original works with great actors, directors, tech, crew, and lots of memorable imagery in every show.

They have a deal at
to get a year-​long pass from the date of purchase for $ 99. This gets you into as many performances of any show performed in this theatre for an entire year. The ensemble performs two of their own shows a year, but also host theatre festivals, late night events, and guest artists. It’s possibly the best theatre deal in Los Angeles. Highly recommended.
Note: Most all of their shows contain adult themes, so leave the kids at home.

Just saw the amazing performance of The Designated Mourner. Michael Kass was spectacular. The staging and multimedia was terrific. The only drawback was that the seats are not incredibly comfortable…

If you enjoy avant-​garde theater check this place out. They produce new and under-​exposed plays and are great at it. Street parking can be difficult but worth it.
