I attended a free show starring Allen Stone(if you don’t know him, you should look him up on iTunes!) here. Nice little, intimate room lookin like an art studio(idk if it actually IS an art studio lol) with an open bar.

Great music venue. Came here to watch Charli XCX and she killed. It’s a really intimate space so it can feel tight, but proximity to the artist is what makes this place so great.
We won«tickets» to see last night’s concert by Little Dragon at the Sonos Studios. So disappointed after driving to LA from Orange County and waiting in line for an hour, my friend and I were told along with approximately a hundred other people that there was no room left in the venue. We arrived at the venue at the time KCRW instructed us to arrive. We have attended several KCRW events at the Apogee Studios and have never had such a problem. Be very cautious attending an event at the Sonos, they apparently over book it by 100 percent capacity. Had we known that it wasn’t a certainty that we would get in, we would not have excepted. It appears we actually never won anything at all except the opportunity to waste our time and money getting to Los Angeles for nothing.

I love SONOS and all the free events I come to see! Always cold drinks and friendly staff and security. The only issues I have are that the last few times I’ve come I’ve had to wait forever in line only to find out they they’ve reached capacity. It’s a pretty small place, which is perfect for intimate gigs and I think they used to let as many people as possible in, but now they have the fire Marshall on their bums, so it totally sucks! I’d recommend using a bigger venue, but that might take away the intimacy of it all.

So I waited for about an hour for a talib kweli concert that was held at sonos. It was a free event. Word to the wise. Get here very early because they make you stand in line in typical hollywood fashion only to cut the line at some random point when they already know they are not going to let anyone else in. Look sonos this is la. If you are going to have a free concert series, design a space large enough to hold a reasonable amount of people. Some idiot wirh a bad pageboy hairdo made an abitrary line cut that was absurb because even her line cut meant nothing because at the door they essentially wouldn’t let anyone else in anyway. I’m all about free music but please respect people’s time and not have people stand on line knowing full well you are not going to let anymore people in. I will never support this so called venue again. Total waste of time. If they would have simply turned people away at the point in which they knew no more people were going to make it in, then I would have no problem with this. However to keep fifty people in line for an hour and tell them all the while they are indeed going to get in, only to make your event seem bigger… well that’s misleading. Basically sonos. U suck. And I will never be back. Here is a thought… charge peoople to lessen the numbers or invest in a larger space to hold more people or keep it free and have rhe common decency to turn people away when you at capacity. Just the same hollywood b.s. time and time again

Sonos Studio is NOT a retail space, you can’t BUY Sonos products there, and they don’t service or support them. It’s more like a gallery space they use for events and parties that’s also open to the public. Depending on the week, there may or may not be something truly worth stopping in for. Recently, they had an elaborate exhibit with dozens of Sonos players suspended by cables with motors driven by a system with multiple cameras, as you walked through, the speakers would turn to follow you. Pretty cool. My advice would be to call first and see what’s there. Other interesting points… they have a skateboard lending library!

I was lucky enough to win a competition to see Deadmau5 perform in this intimate venue last week. Only 50 people who entered in the online drawing got to go. Can’t say anything bad about this place. The room has a great acoustic set up, while the staff work tirelessly to keep everything moving along. They are professional there and you can tell that the venue is a hot spot. Lighting was done really well too! When I first got there, the bouncers tried to turn us away. Apparently, when you get there five minutes before the show, they don’t want to let you in. I had been through so much that night, trying to get to that show. so I was NOT ready to just turn around. I stayed for a minute and tried to talk my way in. Moreover, I showed them my «aftershow» wristband that the 50 people received. One of the venue’s supervisors saw me from inside and came out to fix the issue. My friend and I were taken care of and treated fairly during the rest of the night. I even got the opportunity to meet Deadmau5 and he signed a piece of my DJ gear. I’ll be following this venue on twitter. Hell. I’ll go ahead and give the Sonos speakers a listen too. Had a reat night here.
