At Star Hookah Lounge, we welcome not only experienced smokers, but also new smokers and non-​smokers alike. The only place you’re gonna find that is still poppin at 4am. The wait is annoying sometimes but worth it once you’re in and get to turn up plus the good music & hot young girls who come thru :) love star and everyone there xoxo

Oh my gosh this place is insaaaane! and not a good insane.
So in Houston we don’t wait outside in line in the cold to get in a hookah bar but here, that’s how it goes down!
We stood in line waiting to go in and smoke some hookah. Realizing that I needed to potty the security at the door let me give him my ID to go use it. As I am walking through I see TONS of space for people to come in and sit.
Basically the owners little brother wanted the place «look» like it’s poppin by keeping people out in the cold!
Lucky for my friend and I, we are kind of cute (not cocky) and these guys we were talking to in the line paid 100 bucks for us all to get in.
100 BUCKS! to get into a HOOKAH BAR! Unheard of here. But hey they say that’s how it is in LA.
But to comment on the actual hookah, It was well made and I liked that they use my favorite brand of shisha HAZE! Granted once we got inside and sat down in the first big room area everything was cool. Service was almost non-​existent. But I had a blast and enjoyed myself a lot. The place doesn’t close till after 5 so it was non stop party time!

This place used to place used to be super fun but the last time I went it was WACK! The dj was playing Gwen stefani & who let the dogs out on a Friday night. It was sad. Everyone was slumped & looking bored, you would think the dj would get the point … But he didn’t

Went there for my birthday horrible left and went somewhere else they tried to tell me we never made an reservation when I had the confirmation email in my hand. Then they said oh you can sheet there then at 11:30 you have to leave. So I guess if we weren’t gone they were gonna call the cops. The only thing good about this place is that it is on Hollywood Blvd other than that I recommend going Pasha a few miles away

It’s a small hookah Lounge, nothing much to say. The hookah is fine, price is fair, service is alright, but they need to have more stuff to entertain the customers. All they have is one TV for each seat, but all playing the same stuff. When I was there, the TVs were playing NBA match results over and over for almost two hours… A plain hookah bar is just boring…

Service can be a long wait, DJ is stuck on ratchet music, some façade issues that aren’t being taken care of, hookah quality is reasonably priced but not all are high quality so spend the money on a blend, workers were good to deal with once they came around.

The only reason this is getting 2 stars is because the hookah was sufficient and the coals were changed by the server without us asking. Besides that, the seating is torn, the servers didn’t acknowledge we were there when the place was nearly empty *one other table*, and it seemed to be we were more of an inconvenience of a table. Even when I would say thank you, or smile, the server looked at me as if I was a waste of space…‘scuse me, but we’re not in New York, so why so cold? Plus, there are places with the same quality of shisha and better atmosphere and service that are the same price. I think I’ll stick to the other hookah locations, thank you.
I have travelled the country, run 6 lounges, and have been the business consultant for numerous others… and this has been, by far, one of the most disappointing lounges to visit. It has so much potential and great location. Fix up the attitudes and it may be a more pleasant experience.

Hookah was burnt from the first hit. Service was horrible. Employees were rude. We had to keep asking several employees change the coals, waited about 15 minutes before someone acknowledged and said the coals weren’t ready so we had to keep waiting. Worst hookah place I’ve ever been too. Do not waste your time or money, over priced!

I’ve been here twice; first time I was drunk, second time I was sober. Since I was drunk first time and I don’t remember much, I’ll base it on the second time. Overrated from the beginning. Long lines for a disappointment of horrible service, damn the taco truck down the street had better service.
The Hookah was expensive for what it is. I’m an active shisha smoker & what I was smoking more booboo than AZ or stress. When the Hookah came it had dirty water rather than clean water. The shisha tasted burnt from the first hit I took. Too much mint as well, for a quick second I thought I was smoking Listerine or Scope!
I asked for a waiter and I waited for several minutes. Finally I got up and spoke to the guy whom was or seemed to be in charge. He said he’ll take care of it. Waited 10 minutes, I went up to the other guy who somewhat seemed in charge. Still waiting another 10 minutes. I had to force them to change my burnt @ss shisha and dirty @ss water.
Finally! Got the Hookah, my friend & I smoked and got turnt for a bit. Then off to the taco truck who had 5 star service compared to this hole.

No food and no bar. The Unilocal profile says there is a full bar, but when I drove down here, there was none. The staff said someone must have clicked it while reviewing, but there is no bar here. Once a month, someone comes by to mix drinks, however there is no set schedule for this, so that’s kind of a downer.
PROS:
— Big booths with big couches to really lounge on. You could bring a whole group of friends here.
— Nice décor. Black couches, mini-​chandeliers, purple drapes, giving you a real lavish, tent-​feel.
CONS:
— The black pillows and couches have holes in them… a *lot* of holes in them.
— One of my friends said she saw bedbugs here, so I peaced out shortly after that.

Terrible customer service.
It seems like they take advantage of people who are drunk, but we were sober. We noticed that they were trying to wrongfully charge us for stuff we did not order.
As a warning, please don’t go here if you don’t want to wake up with empty bank account the next morning.
Chango (not sure if that is his real name) he told us he is partial owner of the place.
However he wasn’t aware of rules and regulations. Tried warning him someone could sue him but he just kept saying I am following the rules on whatever they told me it was.
Partial owner should be aware of the law!
Anyways, stick to LA hookah places not here in Hollywood. It’s a rip off.

Late night spot, open til 5 am on the weekends. I went Memorial Day weekend late Saturday/​Sunday morning.
Pros:
The hookah wasn’t too expensive. They allow 2 people per hookah for $ 25. It’ll be a little extra if you’re in a group of 3 people.
Tons of options to choose from.
Cons:
We waited outside the door to be seated at least 20 minutes (I think they were waiting for a line to form to attract a crowd)
Not the place to continue the turn up, they only serve soft drinks.
It was pretty lively with music videos playing, and a few guys entertained me by dancing all night! Very comfortable spot for hookah.

We stopped here after dinner and two bars on our coed bachelor (ette) outing. They were able to accommodate our group of 7. The staff was friendly but they kept taking the tongs we we couldn’t adjust the coals when needed. Prices were on the high side. Location was convenient. There was no cover and we didn’t have to wait which was great. The place was very large and able to accommodate a lot of people. The water bottles were pricy. Overall I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here but if I’m in the area I may return.

Came here for the first time in a Saturday night. There was a bouncer checking ID’s who informed us that there’s an automatic $ 25 hookah fee for the night. They hold onto your ID & credit card.
The place was dark, well ventilated and had booths towards the back. Love the chandelier décor and a love DJ was spinning that night. Music is mostly, if not all, hip hop which was what my friend & I wanted that evening. The audio is L O U D and you can definitely feel the bass, but I’ve been to other places that provide better quality.
Server suggested we try Birthday Sex houseblend. And boy was that a mistake. He said it would be sweet. It was mostly sour! The service here is terrible: they weren’t attentive with checking the coals, they only asked us once how our hookah was doing, and when we wanted a different flavor, it took 20 minutes or more to get a new one!
I’m not gonna lie, the atmosphere was pretty bangin’, mostly a bunch of 20-something’s coming from a night of clubbing end up here, but ambience is much more chill. If their service AND hookah were better, I would return. But for now, Star Hookah just doesn’t cut it for me.

So this was my first time going to any hookah lounge. I decided to go to Star hookah vs Hollywood hookah due to reviews.
I went on Saturday. (Aug 16th 2014)
I will say this… I had the Wet Dream hookah and it was amazing.
One con I do have is that the staff members never once checked on my party.
They failed to change the coals once the hookah got harsh. And I’m all about customer service.
I really hope the owner of this establishment reads this, because based on the reviews this seems to be a trendy topic about the service.
And unfortunately I probably won’t come back due to their mediocre service.
