My friends & I were downstairs at the federal & heard a bunch of noise upstairs. Obviously we had to go check it out! There was only about 45 minutes left until close, & the manager was extremely nice & let us slide. We had SO much fun, we danced nonstop. Maybe other people had a not-so-good time, but we sure did!

While out in the town with @darrenmillerfilms, we were expecting to experience a night to remember. What we got was a night we wish to forget. As we approached the entrance, the doors were shut in our faces, FACES. We were SHUNNED and told to leave before the actually closing time. I have never been more disrespected in my entire life. Never coming again, except on Thursday when there’s 80s 90s hip hop

The entertainment at Sterling Upstairs, for the Kritzerland monthly shows, is first rate Broadway level cabaret and reasonably priced for a dinner show. Bruce Kimmel without fail directs a production, not a succession of soloists. He injects a whole lotta humor and great liner notes about what you’re about to hear. Mr. Sterling is a very welcoming host. Brunch there is really nice, I prefer it over their dinner selections. Sterlings: Please offer bead, flatbread or crackers, and either butter or olive oil for dipping during your guests’ inevitable wait for the food. Sometimes that is a little long! The key is to arrive early and not order when the kitchen is overwhelmed. The environment is really New York club in feeling, a very sophisticated little gem in NoHo and definitely worth the drive from wherever. Even you snooty Westside people who don’t come to the Valley.

l have now been 6 times times to see shows at Michael Sterling’s shows«Upstairs» and am going again this next week to see aTHE BRITISHINVASION, Bruce Kimmel’s next Kritzerland show. The Federal is catching up with the upscale and demanding crowd that attend these events… the dinner hour before the show is getting better with waiter service The food is better than any other Cabaret, the cost is way below the Gardenia in Hollywood including dinner, and the ambiance is warm, friendly, comfortable, with terrific sound, lighting and proscenium stage. I just saw the stunning Eileen Barnett last week. Mr. Sterling is a man of great taste and a great host… I have never seen a show there than I have not liked

This doesn’t even deserve 1 star! AWFULAWFULAWFUL. It took the waitress 20 minutes to get me a WATER! It wasn’t until an hour after we were seated that we finally got our order taken. About 30 minutes later, a woman at our table asked our waitress the status of our food in which she assured us it was on its way, only to be approached by the same waitress 10 minutes later saying that the kitchen never got our order. As if that wasn’t enough, when we finally got our food, it was cold, stale, and drenched in vinaigrette(we ordered a hamburger). This was completely, 100% the fault of the management. It should not have been the waitress who came to apologize, but the manager himself. But he was too busy looking like an idiot who had no idea how to run a restaurant. My boyfriend had attended this god-forsaken establishment to see a musician. If it wasn’t for the performance, we would have left much sooner. WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER!!!
