Other reviews capture the gist of this trail. It has ruts, gopher holes and weeds that brush up against your legs occasionally so you should check for fleas or ticks when you’re done. My dog gets fleas and ticks pretty quickly because he pulls into the weeds. Good news: First, the trail is being improved as of fall of 2015 and the County should take care of the width and rut issues. Also, a beautiful new parking lot is being built at the La Brea end(the upper end) of the trail and a ramp will connect the trail to the padded Rueben Ingold walking park above the parking lot. Furthermore, it is worth crossing Stocker at La Brea because there are bathrooms at the park right across the street. Finally, if you want to walk into the magnificent Kenny Hahn park continue on the sidewalk along La Brea to Don Lorenzo Drive. The crosswalk on La Brea is less intimidating at Don Lorenzo and some steps carry you into Kenny Hahn from there.

Start at the bottom of stocker and work yourself up to La Brea, then cross the street to Kenneth Hann. They have beautiful views, great trails that take your work out to another level. You’ll also get to enjoy all the little critters running around. Love this place.

This is a simple walk/run trail. Many people who live in the community walk this trail. I walked half of the trail twice & it took me 30 minutes. I don’t need to loose weight or anything but it’s more for keeping my body moving. For anyone who wants to feel the burn there are other areas in LA to feel the burn & shed the pounds. In some areas of the trail it gets unleveled so be careful. For a good incline, try walking up the steep hill on Valley Ridge at the next half of the Stocker trail. This trail for me is to simply keep my energy going & body moving.

If you are a runner looking for packed dirt without too much sharp incline this is a nice one. It’s kinda short– 1.7 mil out and back, but the surface/incline combo is so rare in LA I drive to do this one. You can extend your route into Kenneth Hahn Pak for more dirt trail, but you’ll have to deal with stop lights and pavement to get into the larger park.

Good trail, if you do it you MUST cross the street at top of trail & continue through Kenneth Hahn. The trail on that side straddles la Brea, it’s really more of a hike. Oh & don’t go anytime near sunset. I learned the hard way & had to walk very slow, as there were no street lights!

The trail runs alongside the Stocker Street. Really, it’s just a slope of land that’s too steep for any developer to convert into anything useful. The entire hike isn’t very challenging. Walk it briskly and you can do it in under an hour with barely a drop of sweat. Beware the narrow paths at certain points, especially with other hikers/old seniors walking by. Their walking canes may knock you over the side. As for the views from the trail, they are so-so compared to other trails in LA. You can see the Hollywood sign at the top and downtown LA at the bottom.
