Stone Rose Lounge

Won’t be going here again. Came here on a Tuesday before July 4, 10 minutes before 12, and seeing as how Unilocal had said this place closes at 2, we decided to give this place a shot after our previous location failed miserably. At the bar, we ordered quick shots. For the next round we ordered drinks to chill with, beers, cocktails. Lo and behold, right when those drinks were given to us, the bartender had told us that they close at 12 today. Seriously?! What place would even sell alcohol when they’re closing ten minutes later?! I felt ripped off. They could have at least had the decency to tell us when they closed beforehand. So, we stayed a few minutes later to finish our drinks while the employees kept shooing us out. What a great 10 minutes!
Drinks were disappointing as well. I ordered a Tom Collins. I don’t think I ordered a Tom Collins virgin but maybe the bartender heard that seeing as how there was no hint of alcohol. Prices are a little more than average. For lack of a better phrase: Eek! Methinks not.

Seeing that I was staying the hotel, my bf and I decided to get a quick drink before getting ready for dinner…
The atmosphere wass modern, chic, and simple. There were a couple males sitting at bar alone and a group sitting outside by the beautiful fire pits. The TVs were also playing a basketball game and hockey game which felt kind of odd because «Stone Rose» isn’t that type of bar where people come to watch sports; Rather, a nice place I imagine rich people come to mingle.
I sat at the bar and decided to order a dirty martini with stuffed blue cheese olives. Unfortunately, they couldn’t accommodate my request (stuffed olives) and I had to settle for a mediocre dirty martini. My bf order a pesce sour, which was also just OK. Total came out to 32.00 for two poorly made drinks.
Not my thang.

Stone Rose lounge is inside the Hotel Sofitel which is on Beverly Blvd directly across the street from the Beverly Center (by Macy’s). You can try to find street parking but I suggest you park across the street at the mall. I believe it costs $ 1 for the first 4 hours (no validation needed). Otherwise they have the standard hotel valet parking which is pricey.
The bar/​lounge is really nice. My favorite part is the outdoor area. They have super cute cabana’s. This is a great little spot to throw a event such as a birthday get together.
The bartender and the cocktail waitresses were really nice and fast. Drink prices were typical LA. I believe my glass of red wine was about $ 11.
I’m adding this to my list of great bars to frequent with friends.

Stone Rose is absolutely beautiful… once your eyes adjust to the darkness. I get that they’re going for a certain look but I feel like lighting this low is a safety hazard. Even the bathrooms are too dark. How am I supposed to touch up my makeup if I can’t see my face?
Darkness aside, It has a very swanky, sexy vibe to it. It’s actually smaller than I though it would be. The bartender and cocktail servers were very nice. The second we walked through the door, a server came up to us and asked if we wanted a drink. Under normal circumstances, I would say the drinks are way over priced. But, given the location, they’re about standard. For example, I saw a certain brand of Prosecco priced at $ 12. I know for a fact I’ve gotten that same brand at another restaurant for $ 6. But, It’s LA, you pay for the location, not the beverage itself.
Anyway, there’s a section of the lounge that is semi-​enclosed and would be a good place for a small celebration of some kind. Would also be a good date place.

Horrible service staff. When I got to their relatively-​deserted bar at around 10, one bartender was talking to her barback and the other one was on her phone. When the girl finally decided to end her conversation, she simply said «Do you know what you want?» Not Hi, not Welcome to the Stone Rose, not What can I get you. Do you know what you want.
Then when the expensive, mediocre cocktail arrived a few minutes later, it was inexpertly mixed. If you’re paying a premium for a mixed drink, it should be delivered with aplomb and friendliness. I decided to close out with her on that drink and try with a different bartender, so I paid cash for my drink and left her a $ 5 bill for my tip for my one drink. She literally said *nothing*.
Awful service makes it difficult to see anything redeeming about this bar. The ambience may or may not have been nice; I can’t really tell because my first of two drinks in there was delivered in a way that suggest that the bartender was risking herpes by handing me a drink. Disgusting drinking experience, for my money I will take Jones, Cole’s, the Formosa — christ, even the bar at Pink Taco.

I think they’ve redone the place! I was confused at first when I walked in but then again it’s benn over 3 years!
We found a booth outside with a fire tepee. Yes tepee not a pit or lamp!
We ordered a bottle of veuve (so happy they had it) and drank amongst the 3 of us.
Perfect spot for any occasion! I think this will be our little spot. Loved the music selection too and it wasn’t that loud!
If you want to drink but not go crazy like at a club, this is the place to hang. The bartender was nice too.

Talk about over priced mediocre drinks. I mean, I understand that you are across from the Beverly Center in the Sofitel, but $ 16 for a martini is retarded. Not even a special martini… just a dirty one. Oh, and don’t forget the $ 15 for the valet. Think about it… you take a date… two drinks apiece and parking you are looking at at least $ 90 and you aren’t even drunk! Boooo…
That being said… the ambiance is good and I really like all the seating areas.

Fun Place!
Pros: Strong drinks, cool décor, nice cabanas and pretty outdoor patio area, big, not too crazy.
Cons: Expensive parking and pricey drinks. Hit or Miss crowd.
Go with managed expectations.

I’ve been to the hotel, spa, and restaurant here but only recently had the opportunity to hang out at the Stone Rose Lounge. I attended an event there in the middle of the week, so I can’t speak much to the crowds or lines, but once inside the place is sexy and sultry. VERY dim lighting, your standard lounge furniture, very pricey drinks. But I could see it as a great place to impress a date and get a relaxing drink before a dinner in West Hollywood or Beverly Hills.
I also received fantastic service here, from the valet to the bartender who DUG THROUGH THE TRASH to retrieve a certain someone’s lost wallet that inconveniently was the same color and size as the cocktail napkins. We were very grateful!

I attended Stone Rose Lounge and was suprised I had never noticed it, or the hotel it was in since I always drive past. Most importantly I enjoyed the crowd. It was mostly AA, but had a mixture of people. Everyone was looking nice, and had a good girl to guy ratio. People were friendly, and I am talking about girls to eachother, not guys trying to hook up.
Easy street parking within a couple blocks if you dont mind spending 5 minutes looking. Lots of couches and places to sit. They had reserved all over them but everyone was sitting whereever they wanted.
Both nice inside and outside areas with lots of fire areas. A girls hair caught on fire but I missed it. I did smell it, and my friend came running to tell me. She is a good friend. The fire did get really hot since they were everywhere.
:The DJ was lame. The music in the bathroom was better. The ran out of Toliet Paper and seat covers by midnight. Not lovely in the bathroom area.
The Bartenders were super slow, they really needed more. It took 10 minutes to get a drink andI was not next in line. People were mad I got served since they had been there so much longer. Dont these places make money off the drinks? If everyone is fighting for one, give us more!

Actually, I kinda liked it.
I’m NOT a club person, so the fact that I had fun at Stone Rose wins it extra points. I’d spent a recent weekend in Vegas with a group that could not be town away from the club scene, so I was over the effort. In comparison, though, it was a great spot.
Huge couches outside (away from the music, thank goodness) as well as in, interesting (older, touristy) crowd — for people watching, not eye candy!
When you’re done, open-​24-​hours Jerry’s Famous Deli is a block away to satisfy your drunk munchies.

after our lovely meal at Simon LA, we headed out to the lounge. that’s when things went downhil…
— seating is unavailable unless bottle service is purchased
— bottle service was purchased, bottles delivered but where the heck is the SERVICE!!!
— eye-​candy was no where to be found
— only option for parking was valet; paid $ 26 for approximately 5 hours! no validation option, rate increases after each hour
— good music selection, but the DJ was lousy!
even w/​good food, great ambience, and fantastic company, you’ll leave this place PISSED OFF! the least this establishment can do is offer a small flat rate for parking after dropping dime at the restaurant & lounge.

Came here for a change of pace because I didn’t feel like drinking up the hill on Sunset at Katana and driving all the way back home so I rolled here to pop open a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Champagne with a couple of friends and have a quick bite to eat.
We opted for the the comfy couches just past the bar. The waitress came over and asked us for a credit card and our orders. We saw the $ 150.00 price tag for Veuve on the menu (The Four Season and L’Ermitage charge $ 99.00) and didn’t mind spending the extra change.
We asked for some chambord to splash a little in our flutes and ordered food from the menu. Now here’s where it gets interesting…
1) The sides of chambord came in what it looked like what they serve communion in. Enough for one «splash» in one drink so we asked for a bit more.
2) The short rib i ordered was really good and the lobster mac and cheese was good as well. My bestie had a house salad, shrimp and crab cakes

This is absurd! service fee charge? Isn’t that what the %18 gratuity added was?
We asked for the manager to come and clear this up. He said the service fee charge is their «policy» and he would take care of the chambord charge. Woohoo… thanks for nothing!
We payed with cash and were happy to leave these bloodsuckers.
Oh but its not over! The next day I see they charged my card as well for the total amount… Wow…Really?
I will stick with the Four Seasons and much classier places rather than these fly by night spots that nickle and dime… no scratch that… places that OVERCHARGE you for their sucky service! I will not return here again! Mind you… this review will be going into my next issue of the reputable magazine I work for… LOL I love my job!

Beware, this is a biased review. I am a total westside girl meaning, I don’t like paying $ 15 for a glass of $ 5 wine!!!
But, other than that… this place is pretty cool. No cover, parking is decent (street parking has never been a problem and Beverly Connection parking at night is free!), and the overall vibe is pretty chill inside.
My friend just had her bday party here and was able to get a little cabana at no charge and it ended up being a great spot for a party.
Still, not somewhere I’d frequent for the hell of it, but not a bad place to end up for a fun night of (expensive) drinking.

This place is actually OK. Got in without a problem, and it’s VERY nice inside.
There are cabanas outside and a firepit outside and more couches. Inside it’s again couches and tables everywhere. And the décor is very well done.
I think the music could have been better though and if they’re going for the loungy feel maybe not as loud.
Getting some drinks and relaxing on the patio here would be worth coming back here for.
There’s meters for free parking on La Cienega and the parallel streets.
I would come back here overall.

Went here a while ago for a friend’s birthday. The place is very LA chic. Its dimly lit, has cute, contemporary couches and booths, and good music.
You gotta know coming into a place like this that drinks are gonna be expensive… so I didn’t hold that against them as its the norm in LA and trendy spots like this.
I agree with a previous review — they say the attire is supposed to be upscale, but there are no bouncers at the door enforcing this policy. I didnt see anything upscale the night I was there. It felt like it was ghetto night and all the dudes had rolled up in their über baggy pants with the crotch hanging down to their knees and over-​sized shirts. And the girls were squeezed into their slutwear.
We had a good time since we primarily stuck to talking to the group we came with. I wouldn’t say that I’m dying to go back here anytime soon.
Also, we new ahead of time that valet was gonna be $$, so we parked in the Beverly Center parking structure across the street.

Absolutely horrible… just horrible.
I planned a birthday party for me and my boyfriend. We had about 80 people that replied yes to our invite so I called the Lounge ONE MONTH in advance to try to negotiate an area for us to use. When I got to the lounge, I had to bug my contact so many times on the phone and when I finally found him, he took me to an area which he reserved for us. At 10pm, we go to that designated area since our guests were coming in, People were still eating at the table so we were told by the restaurant manager to stay away from the area! WOW and she was SO rude!
We slowly inch our way into our RESERVED area as guests left the tables and this was already aound 11:30pm. By that time, guests were starting to arrive too. but what??? THEY CAN’T GET IN?! So I go out to the entrance, and it was an absolute chaos. There was no line. Just a mob of people pushing their way through to the front. Friends who were willing to push their way through were able to somehow get in after a long time pushing and shoving… about 20 of our guests left after they saw the crazy mob of people and 5 people left because they couldn’t park their cars!
The crowd was ghetto… When I read everyone’s review, I didn’t know what they meant by ghetto, but wow, now I know what it means. They were rude, had no manners, and they were just sloppy drunks EVERYWHERE. I was imagining Stone Rose lounge to be a classy place since the venue looked pretty posh, but if you want classy, Stone Rose is DEFINITELY NOT a place to be.
Definitely not my scene… I don’t think I will ever come back here.

$ 16 for a glass of champagne?! Straight robbery! It wasn’t no Veuve Clicquot either.
I guess when you’re in Beverly Hills, you gotta pay the insane prices.
Came here for a friend’s birthday party Saturday night. It was pretty packed and they had a DJ spinning reggae and hip hop. Personally, I’m more into house music, but whatevs. They played Sexy Bitch, so it’s all good!
We hung out in one of the outdoor cabanas and shook our booties a bit. Not sure I’d come back, not really my scene. I must be getting old.

Having dinner and cocktails at the Stone Rose was a completely unique and classy experience. Very trendy, very modern, very LA.
We came here to attend a friend’s 30^th birthday dinner. It’s attached to the Sofitel Hotel (which is where we were staying), so it was a nice leisurely walk from our hotel room to the restaurant.
We were all seated in one of the cavernous outdoor cabanas, and the server dropped by to take our cocktail orders. Soon the martinis (or, in my case, gin-​and-​tonics) were flowing liberally. I got to taste some of my companions’ drinks, too. My favorite was the «absinthe minded refresher», which had absinthe, St. Germain, Cointreau, and some other flavors. I can’t stomach absinthe on its own, so this was a nice mild alternative. I also tasted the acai-​blueberry martini, which was flavorful, but way too overloaded with simple syrup for my taste. Really, that martini tasted sweeter than a sugar-​coated Jolly Rancher and not up my alley at all.
After everyone was socially lubricated, the server came by with plate after plate of appetizers. We noshed on mini hamburger sliders, seared scallops, salmon skewers, mini pizzas, crab cakes, and various other things that I can’t remember (mostly due to the cloudy haze induced by the cocktails).
The service here was top-​notch. Our server bent over backwards to keep our glasses full at all time. We barely touched one appetizer plate before she arrived with the next one. Major kudos to her.
The Stone Rose really knows how to put on a party. I doubt I’ll end up here on my own (since it’s much too spendy for me), but you can’t deny that it’s a splendid place to eat and drink. If you’re crusing around the intersection of La Cienega and Beverly Blvd and itching to find a nice spot to go out, you won’t go wrong at the Stone Rose.

This review is for the overpriced Stone Rose lounge at the Sofitel. This is a chic, ultra modern lounge which is generally empty, and has sub-​optimal service.
The parking sucks as the lounge validates parking and the parking cashier says, «The lounge doesn’t know what they’re doing… they can’t validate.» Net-​net, it costs you $ 15 bucks to get your car back.
I could go into the lack of selection on the wine list, but there are so many good places out there, that I think I’d just roll past the Sofitel.
As my friend Tom says, «Dave, you don’t have to do places like this».
