History

Established in 2011.

Founded by Shannon McArthur, String and Fret Guitar Academy provides an all-​encompassing guitar and ukulele instruction program for students of all ages and levels. With seven years of teaching experience, McArthur has discovered surefire techniques for helping students excel.

Describing his teaching philosophy, McArthur states, «Learning is a product of passion. In order to learn songs, students must sacrifice hours of their time to practice them. The only way to make this sacrifice worth it to them is to pick songs they are excited about learning and let their passion fuel the practice.»

In addition to his teaching endeavors, McArthur has developed a prodigious, multi-​genre catalog of songs, some of which have aired on national television shows such as MTV’s «Ten on Top». Having written and worked with all genres, McArthur can teach all styles of guitar.
