Sub Urban Riot

Impressive collection of cute T-​shirts. I bought a couple of shirts and boyfriend jeans for my up coming trip to Thailand. I will definitely go back for sweaters and more T-​shirts.

Ordered a super cute top and accidentally ordered the wrong size. I gave them a call, a real human answered the phone and helped me right away. Easy, helpful, fantastic. Fixed the problem. This was uncommon and outstanding customer service. Will continue to do business here.

Loved finding this gem in DTLA. Had passed it a couple times on our daily work break walks, caught our eye, had to heck it out. Clothes are cute they have a lot to choose from for men & women. Will definitely be back for more shirts etc.

Two words describe: Casual and urban. Style for urbanisitas, made in DTLA, made in USA, support local businesses… Place your check marks next to all of these words with Sub Urban Riot. Good customer service. I like the fact that someone is there to help you, but they are not on you.

Love everything about this store, the company, the business model, the management team, etc. Don’t think I have ever been as passionate about a brand as I have of this one. Most of the time, clothing brands start out with a great first season or two and then start to get lazy on quality and design. This brand gets better and better and I look forward to each new season. Not only is the fit amazing but the design is unique. These are high quality pieces that will last for years. Love the soft fabrics and dye process they use on the shirts.
The atmosphere and staff at the store downtown is one of the best. Always enjoy stopping in and chatting with Paige. It’s a fun, party type of atmosphere there and never pretentious. The prices are very reasonable.
They do carry a few outside lines. Got some socks I really love and they also have some nice candles.
The French terry shawl cardi in faded black is currently on my wish list.

Horrible! They somehow lost my order so I was waiting 2 months for a tank. The owner resolved after a phone call and email. Now I’m waiting an additional month for a sweatshirt I ordered at the same time! Sent an email last week, no response. DO NOT use this company if you want quick service.

Best men’s clothing store in DTLA! At this point, I’d say half of my wardrobe is from here and it’s mostly because of Paige. She works there and pretty much teaches me how to be cool. Go check it out!

I was stuck at the Ace Hotel on a 10-​day work trip and found this terrific little shop while wandering about one evening. What a gem — despite the small size of the store there was a great selection for guys and gals. The materials they use are top quality and the t-​shirts are not only a ton of fun, they also hold their shape well and don’t shrink. My hubs *loves* his bear/​deer Beer shirt and I was thrilled to find a great independent shop that also has an online presence so I can keep shopping there after I go home. Icing on the cake is the staff — the sales gal was a sweet as pie (in a genuine, non-​fake way) and the designer/​owner is both talented and charming. Oh yeah — flowers on the icing on the cake — it’s all made locally!

Get t-​shirts seen on ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’, really great bags and accessories at reasonable prices, and really well-​priced, awesome clothing! Doesn’t get much better than that…
…oh, wait. They have really awesome bicycles on display as well.

Okay… I have to come clean.
I wrote a not so flattering review of this boutique a few weeks ago after experiencing a bit of frustration. I had gone back to the shop at several different days and hours only to see it closed. I gave up on them not because of their merchandise or service but for this lack of consistency.
Man… did they redeem themselves.
One night I happened to be walking to a bar with a group of friends when we noticed another friend speaking to the salesgirl out front of the shop. I casually told her about what happened to me and she profusely apologized and asked me to come in the next day. I took her up on it because I really wanted to get a few more of the shirts I had previously bought. Anyway, she gave me one helluva discount and was so sweet, I had to take down my negative review.

It has a more masculine appeal but don’t let that fool you. Their women’s button up shirts fit like a glove. I bought 3 of these and I’m going back for more. I wish they had them in more colors. They are so extremely flattering and comfortable, I wear them almost everyday. All of their merchandise is designed and produced right here in downtown. I can’t say enough about the quality of cotton they use. It’s so friggin nice. I’m not sure how to describe their style. Kinda laid back, California style with an emphasis on quality and fit. There’s a few odd apothecary stuff around the shop but I’m not sure why? Maybe just for nic nac buyers.
Retail shops downtown are still struggling. I sincerely try to make most of my purchases locally to support our community but I’m also not one to solely do this just for that reason alone. There are many places opening up here that still have me scratching my head, but Sub Urban is certainly not one of them. I see myself buying their shirts frequently. If not, just for this one particular style alone.
If the owner is reading this, PLEASE MAKE MORE OF YOUR BOYFRIEND BUTTON UPS IN OTHER COLORS! I promise I will buy you out of all your smalls.

I don’t stop in local stores often enough. Usually when I’m in the DTLA area, I have a destination and I go straight to it. I’m glad I strayed away from my routine and gave this place a try!
According to the store clerk, who was super friendly, the owners are wardrobe designers for the show «It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.»
The clothes are casual chic; both men’s and women’s clothing. Lots of comfy sweaters, dresses, slacks and pants for guys. It reminds me of the clothing line, Splendid, if that gives you an idea. All items are made here in the U.S.A. and the cotton is one of the softest I’ve ever felt! I purchased a candle and it’s SO aromatic. When that candle is lit, I can smell it all throughout my house.
It would be nice if they had more inventory, but it’s still a great DTLA boutique! I will pay it a visit whenever I’m in DTLA. The candles alone me sold!

I love their stuff and so glad they have a store in LA! There t’s are so comfy and get even better with age. I love the store — great mix of stuff — my go to when i need a gift!

Owners are rad, humble, and inviting. Love what they did with the space as most of the SB retail spaces lack that creative love. They carry their own line which is all made in DTLA, and love that they have other USA made goods like apothecary stuff (candles, soaps, etc). Definitely a great addition to the block!

I stopped by for the first time on Sunday and was very impressed with the store and quality of the clothing. All items are very reasonably priced and there is a great selection for men and women. I talked to Jason and he shared the story of their brand and their vision for Riot in the Historic Core. I purchased two items and have added Riot to my list of go-​to retail shops!

I’m not sure how I discovered this line originally, but I love it.
I have several of their shirts and a hoodie too. The shirts are made of super soft organic cotton. They’re so comfy you’ll want to sleep in them (don’t worry I won’t tell on you). They also have some really cool hoodies — I wear mine all the time. My only complaint is I really like the v-​cut neck they have on some of their older shirts (I have 4), the newer styles are mostly asymmetrical or crew neck which I don’t like as much.
Bottom line, these guys are really creative and make great clothes.

i went to thread last weekend not intending to buy anything. i wanted to see who was there and what they were selling, just for aesthetic purposes. i stuck to my resolve until i got to the suburban riot area.
they had cute hoodies and tees i was able to resist. then i saw a dress i liked but i wasn’t sure about the size so one of the guys helped me out. he also sold me on another dress i asked about so i bought 2 dresses in 5 minutes for no reason. but, they were not expensive. i love them both. i’m considering doing outfit changes like a crazy person the next time i go out.
the guys who were with suburban riot were cool and helpful but not pushy. i always appreciate good customer service even if it makes me fiscally irresponsible. suburban riot is a southern california company and i was told they sell in some stores in the bay area but i didn’t see any listed on their website. maybe it needs to be updated. i’ll be looking for them.
