Suede Bar & Lounge

Drinks are decent ambiance is nice, small and chill place. But SERVICE is HORRIBLE. Having to wait 15 minutes to get a drink is not acceptable, waiting another 5 to 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by the bartender is also completely unacceptable. And they add their gratuity to the bill, that’s just insulting, because the service is not even mediocre. I left the tip because I know that’s how they make a living, but either get another bartender or get ones who care. Not sure if I would go back. My highlight of the night was seeing drunk Bobby Brown…

If there was an option to give no stars I would, simply because the short hair bartender female was disrespectful towards my party. I was standing at the bar, yes at rush time (but I was standing there for over 45 mins.) she helped everyone around me and clearly said «I am not taking your order» simply because I address her about the fact that I was standing at the bar for 45 mins. I understand it’s busy, but to acknowledge me and tell me she will purposely was NOT going to help me she said“I will make you wait.” it’s wrongful. Yes, I will NOT attend this place ever again, I will give it a bad review because her customer service was horrible. I had someone else from my party order for me since they hear her comment and we decided to leave the place.

Ok where do I start off. So I decided to celebrate my husbands birthday at Suade Lounge. it was a total disaster. I had reserved tables about 3 weeks in advance. Mind you the tables are 50 $each to reserve when booking. I spoke with a Veronica or Christina (supposedly the manager) can’t remember her name clearly. She was really helpful on the phone, explaining to me that I could reserve a table and that she would hold the other two and I could pay once the day of the party. She recommended me to get the 3^rd birthday package which is an open bar tab because I let her know that our party drinks more beer and a bottle wouldn’t work for us. She asked for the amount of guest that would come I said between 15 and 20, so she suggested a 400 $ tab would be good. She went ahead and emailed me a reservation contract confirming the package I would get the date, and the amount, mind you I checked the 3^rd package and I even wrote the 400 $ amount I would have the bar open for. I faxed the contract a week before the party.
So the date arrives and on Unilocal it clearly says it opened at 6p. m till 2:00 a.m. We all arrive at 9:00 my reservation was till 9:30. My party waited in the lobby and I decided to go in and pay for my package and for the other 2 tables Christina was holding, but when I got to the door it was closed? Some security guard told me «oh we’re waiting on the bartenders» That was the first sign that things weren’t going to go good. My party started arriving and the place was still not open!
Once they had all their staff they opened the doors. So I saw 3 tables with the reserve sign on them and figured it could be my 3 tables since it was first come fist serve for party’s because all the sections kinda have 3 tables. So this is where the fun really starts.
This waitress approached me and asked which was the name of the party, I had decided to take copies of the contract I had faxed, and she totally said oh theirs been a confusion, the tables are not 50 $ each nor is their a 400 $ package, the tables and all are really 900 $ and up??? I was super pissed!!! I said let me speak to whoever was Christina or Veronica (which I believe till this day the waitress was really the person I had spoke n to on the phone, who had lied the entire time) the waitress says oh she won’t be in till another hour??? She than disappears, later returns, I tell her that was not paying $ 900.We were moved to a different area, and she ended up giving me the same package for a smaller amount, my party decided not to get her as a waitress and bought bottles for everyone to enjoy at the bar, and she decides to tell the security guards that members of our party snuck the bottles in! Just because we didn’t get her as our own waitress… total disaster !! our party was about 50 people and ended up making this place pop the rest of the night, but NEVER AGAIN! Do not plan any special occasions here! They are dishonest! Horrible experience… oh and just to let everyone know, Christina, Veronica whichever her name was NEVER showed up lol! So i was right, the waitress was the person I really spoke on the phone to, the entire time…

Dropped by after dinner the Friday before Halloween to grab some drinks and chill. No line and not too packed inside at first. This was around 11 pm. It didn’t take too long to get drinks…$ 10 for a shot of Hennessy and $ 11 for Patron. After our shots we walked back to our cars to put something away and came back. We went back in and it was more crowded. Upon entering, you can feel a huge difference between the freshness outside and the stuffiness inside. We went to dance for a bit, but the stuffiness was getting intolerable. Again, we left. If staying at the hotel and wanting to chill for a bit, then this place would be okay. Otherwise, I suggest going elsewhere. This place is small and gets super stuffy! Gross! It wasn’t even hot outside. Turn up the a/​c will ya! Lol

This place was… OKAY.
I was here for a celebratory engagement party… so for us, it was definitely fun since we had a huge group with very happy people. And I favored the fact that we basically had the whole room to ourselves.
BUT as an individual, I probably would never come back here because other than our group, there was barely anyone there! SUPER empty on a Friday night. no one was dancing even with decent hip hop playing. The venue is super small. OH and it was so hard to find my way through the hotel to find this place because I was coming from the 2^nd floor valet. And I had asked a custodian that was working there where I could find the lounge. and they directed me to some red lights on the 5^th floor. But this place is on the 1^st floor right across the lobby. Seriously?
It’s just not a place I would ever come back to sadly…

Really bad experience this Saturday October 17! I was a guest at the Westin bonaventure hotel as a platinum guest I should not expect a fraud at suede bar from there bar tender «Lupe»!! At the end of my visit at the bar my bill came up to $ 94 .00 dollars and I left a $ 12.00 tip to make a total of $ 106.00. Two days later I check my credit card statement and the bar tender modifies and change the the tip for $ 12.00 to 92.00 and change the total for which I totally did not agree too and modified the $ 12.00 tip to $ 92.00 by changing the 1 to a 9! And my total to $ 106.00 that I signs and agree to $ 186.00 by adding a 0 on top of the $ 106.00!!! Really bad experience as a platinum guest! This shouldn’t happen to anybody. I called and spoke to the general manager Christina Alvarez not she was not professional at all. She really thought I left a 92 dollar tip which I did not. She wasn’t able to help me at all… Instead I felt like she gave me a slap in the face by offering a 15% discount for my next visit… smh !!!

We tried so hard to like this place. The lady at the door wanted us to stay so she brought us to the DJ in an attempt to save us from leaving. The music felt very 80’s and corny hip hop. He didn’t change it up fast enough so by 11:30, me and my 20+ crowd left because we couldn’t get down. Go somewhere else if you want to dance… No line, no cover, no fun :(

The DJ and entertainment was awesome, waitress/​bartender was AWFUL RUDE AND LACKED CUSTOMER SERVICE. It was the one female bartender/​waitress who was extremely rude and defiant. First she kept change from orders like she earned the tip, then she down talked myself and two others. Finally when she was called on the carpet about her rude and defiant behavior she snatched up order made some unkind statements and walked away. Her attitude and disrespect for customers has caused me to submit my first ever negative comment ever on social media. Note this would be a place I would’ve considered recommending if service was not so AWFUL!

Came after work with a big group and they were able to accommodate us! Decent Happy hour! Cool place downtown!

I’m never the one to bash places about the way the business is ran, but I must say I was very taken back by this place. It’s a great place to go and have a drink and dance. The music is great. But the bar staff is Robbing people behind the bar. I’ve been to this place numerous times and I’ve never heard of a 20% gratuity charge for a bar tab over 50 dollars. I asked the bartender about this and her rebuttals was but did you have a good time? Didn’t we take care of you? First, all my drinks were water down, Secondly they spent more time shaking their ass behind the bar instead of serving people. When I ask to speak with the manager the bartender got very aggressive and rude. I am a generous tipper on the regular so a extra charge shows me you guys don’t get tipped regular. I wonder why?

Where to start!!!
*When none of the bartenders know what a Rob Roy is I should of just left, unfortunately it was my wife’s friends birthday.
*The DJ could not figure out how to hook up his system, the lounge played pandora till about 11pm, PANDORA with the commercial and everything.
*The crowed in the really really ratchet according to my wife. Not quite sure what that means but I’m guessing it’s bad.
*very little sitting space, when I asked for a both/​sitting area the girl told me I needed to buy a bottle other wise I wouldn’t get one. As the night went on I only saw her selling 3 – 4 bottles and over 40 people were sitting down???
*Finally the restroom wasn’t inside the lounge. You had to enter the hotel and was a good chunk.

This place sucks! I was walking out this place and some random drunkin girl decided I was to pretty or she was jealous of me or maybe the cheating lil boy I was with at the time was flirting with her who knows I will never know BUT in front of the bouncer as I was walking out I heard someone yell out a bad word and all of a sudden she went to hit me in my face. When I turned to look the bouncers grabs her and helps her escape! When I said I was calling the cops they didn’t even care. I talked to the manager who commented and said «what do you want me to do about it» in a rude way. I told him I was calling the cops all he said was «I suggest u don’t» yeah well how can I press charges on someone u let get away! I have never been back and I always tell others to go somewhere else then this ghetto a** place!

Great spot to get your dance and drink on! The music was great (Hip Hop & R&B), the drinks were strong and the vibe is great! I came on a Saturday and there was no cover or line! I will be back! Lol

I like this place and I would have gave it a higher grade but I received poor service from the GM Christina in setting up VIP service for my birthday (no return phone calls and an email response every 2 days) and the waitress who was assigned to handle my party did not provide the type of service I was accustom to. She was handling three separate groups that night and so my guest were not getting their orders quick enough.
In any event, Suede Bar & Lounge is a nice alternative to go to if you don’t want to fight crowds at some club in Hollywood. The décor is very modern and somewhat trendy. It’s a lounge so it’s smaller and intimate. I’ve gone on both a Friday night and Saturday night and Friday was much more crowded. Guy to girl ratio was about 50:50. A good majority of the girls were done up in heels and skirts so that’s a plus. Because the venue is free there were of course your «undesirables» and «creepers», overall though, a pretty decent crowd. The DJ was spinning current hip-​hop, dance and R&B. Drinks were standard price. Despite the staff’s inefficiencies, I had fun and I’ll probably end up going there again.

I went there on a Friday night for the first time and I didn’t like it. The two bouncers at the front were full of bad jokes, looked at my DL and started talking smack about the city I live in. My high heels were hurting me so I was walking slow. They automatically assumed I was too drunk to go in and were giving me crap over it. The part that makes them seem like a-​holes is that I was completely sober! I was there with one other friend. We only had one drink each, stayed about an hour. By midnight the place was still empty so we left to another bar.

I’m not sure how to rate this so I’ll leave this statement.
I came here for my friends birthday celebration.
Pros
–NO COVER
–friendly staff (the bouncer at the door was the nicest bouncer I’ve ever met and the bartender last night was kind as well).
— they had water readily available for anyone to grab (but at the same time that can be dangerous because anyone can easily tamper with it).
Cons
–Hot inside
— I asked for a long island and the bartender used come concoction and handed me the drink in 5 seconds. I didn’t see any long island being made nor did it look or taste like one.
— A fight broke out. Idk what happened but I came back from the rest room to see a man trying to attack a girl which led to a crowd pulling him out. There was a lot of blood. I remember seeing one man with a gash on his forehead and another on his arm. My party managed to make it home unscathed, thank god.
This led to the club kicking everyone out early, which is a disaster because it can inherently force intoxicated individuals to drive home… It was around 1:20am when everyone got kicked out…
Would I come back to this place?
Not anytime soon…

Really small and packed. Came here for a E3 party and it was alright. Really lacking in seats and the bar was small.

A very low key bar but really really small. The bar may be different on different days because I was at their special party.
OVERALL: Meh. Maybe on a normal night, it’d be ok.

This is a cool spot. Nice décor. The bartenders and staff are pretty cool. The place is on the smaller side, but has a lot of seats lounging areas, which is not necessarily a good thing because women just come to look good and sit. Lol.
Every time I’ve been the DJ has been straight. Good mix of music, genres and oldies vs. new.

Located inside the Bonaventure, Suede Bar and Lounge is very small, dark, and not too inviting. They do have an outside area where you can lounge and smoke.
I came here for birthday celebration and I thought it was great celebration because I had a really good time. The group all made it for their happy hour from 4−8pm. Not bad but I was a little ticked that they were out of blue moon and hef… so the waitress told me «we have a orange-​y type beer»…unsure of the name of the beer I said sure. She wasn’t every knowledgeable with what the bar had. With such a huge group, you would think there would be more waitresses to help but only one served our entire group. I have to admit though, props to her trying to remember all the orders. The music was decent but by that time I didn’t care what was playing.
Overall, it was A-​OK, I really didn’t think there was much people besides our group on a Friday night.
