Save yourself a trip and go to any other drug store in the neighborhood. I walked in, the two employees in there looked up at me then went right back to what they were doing… which was ordering lunch. After waiting there for 10 mins without any acknowledgment, listening to them talk about chicken sandwiches, I decided to walk out. They’re rude, unprofessional and offer HORRIBLE customer service. They’re also open weird hours, basically whenever they feel like it. There’s a reason they have two and a half stars, because they don’t care!

I’m afraid to trust these people with a pet rock, much less my medicine. My physician prescribed a topical treatment for me well over a month ago and, if I had not followed-up, I would still literally be scratching my head. They said they did not have the correct insurance information for me. While it’s true that I did change policies recently, it is not classified information they couldn’t have obtained with a little effort. Then their excuse was they could not reach me, which is beyond laughable since I have 2 cell phones, 3 email accounts, a land line, and a fax machine. I am sure my doctor’s office could have helped them there too. If you can’t find me, you aren’t trying hard enough. Once that was straightened out, I was left a message regarding how much my co-pay is but the next day the nurse at my doctor’s office said they could not get through to me because I blocked their number. WHAT??? Now you’re going to just lie!!! You had no problem telling me how much I owed you but honestly, when it comes to actual customer service, it’s MY fault again that you can’t seem to get it right. All of this seriously has me doubting their professionalism and ability to problem-solve, which is critical in running any business, much less when you are dealing with people’s lives. They will not be handling another prescription of mine again even if I have to pay more elsewhere.

I usually prefer to support small businesses, but this place is an effing rip off with shitty hours! Can’t even spell ‘anxious.’ How this place stays in business is nuts. Only reason we came here was our vet sent our cat’s prescription here.

This is the 2nd time they’ve messed up a delivery order for me. They promised me at around 1:30pm today that they would deliver my medication. I called back around 6:00pm to make sure that it would be coming and I was told it was on the way. It is 8:51pm right now and no one has shown up. This is pretty awful. If you have a one time prescription situation and you can pick it up in person, do it. The staff is very friendly. I actually used to love them! Unfortunately, the incompetence is too much for me to excuse. If you have a serious medical condition and you rely on your pharmacist to get you the medication you need when you need it, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

I like coming here and actually having a relationship with my pharmacist. Bob and staff are great — friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I always get good and quick service at Sun and wouldn’t go anywhere else. If you live in the neighborhood you should check it out.

I have been going to Sun Drug for my daughter’s medication for about a year now. They are friendly and try to be helpful. Her medication is somewhat rare and when I recently called for a refill and they didn’t have it in stock they called and left a message. I didn’t get the message and showed up just before close having run out of the medication completely. It was a Friday evening I was frustrated and ended up going to two major pharmacies(Rite Aid at Vermont /Sunset, CVS inside Albertson’s on Hillhurst) and calling another only to find they didn’t have stock either. I guess I could have tried Target or a 24 hour Walgreens but instead they offered to fill her prescription with a compounded version as they have recently added a compounding pharmacy to their business. It worked perfectly, they charged so little I fear they might have made a loss on it and by Monday afternoon they had the normal refill for me. Though it was frustrating that is the kind of customer service I remember from my childhood and so absent in the major chains. This is the reason to support your local businesses so that you get to deal with people who care about their customers as individuals rather than numbers. I could easily deduct a star for the frustrating 10 – 6 hours(I constantly want to go at 9am) but overall Sun Drug makes up for it with great customer service and a neighborly attitude.

I’ve been getting my prescriptions here since 2000. The previous owner was really nice and friendly. I don’t know who is the owner now. There hours are now changed and limited. The staff are friendly too. Parking is not a problem at all. Saturday hours are now closed, which used to be opened from 10AM — 1PM for pick up only. They do delivery as well. I wish they put back the Sat hours even if it’s for pick up only.

I started coming to Sun Drugs after the zillionth screw-up by the chain drugstore I had been using. There’s a big difference between a business where no one cares because they’re all low-paid employees, and a family-type business. The folks at Sun Drugs have gone to bat for me when doctors didn’t call when they were supposed to, or my insurance company wouldn’t acknowledhe my existence. Some of the people who work there are less helpful, but Bob and Mercy(sp?) and some others have really been great. The one bump is that its hours are severely limited by this working mom’s standards, it can be really hard to get there between 10&6, and they’re only open for 3 hours on saturday.

I came here to have a prescription filled for a family member. Even though I had their photo ID, the pharmacist made a snarky comment to the effect of, «I wouldn’t normally fill this, but since I know the doctor…». Give me a break! On top of that, when I gave the prescription to my family member, she tells me that they overcharged me by $ 30. On a side note, he really needs to invest in some deodorant. The smell was pungent to say the least. Ripoff! Avoid! Smelly!
