Sweet Lucie’s provides premium organic ice cream and organic toppings to Southern California private parties and events in a classic 1959 ice cream truck or a vintage ice cream cart.

We only use organic, all natural ingredients and select fair trade chocolates, teas, and coffees. The ice cream and sauces are handmade specifically for your special event. We specialize in weddings, corporate events, studio parties, baby showers, and birthday parties.

Sweet Lucie’s evokes an era when ice cream was made with simple, natural ingredients. Using only simple, all natural organic ingredients is better for both you and the planet.

History

Established in 2010.

Sweet Lucie’s all started when owner, Geri Czako, had a craving for something sweet.

Geri was expecting her first child and wanted ice cream. To satiate her ice cream craving, but also to ensure that the ingredients were delicious, superior, and organic, Geri decided to make her own.

A few months (and a few dozen recipes) later, she perfected the ideal combination of organic ingredients and sweet perfection. Oh, and, Geri had her baby girl.

Her name is Lucie.

Tried their ice cream at a recent catered event in Crystal Cove. The attendants were very helpful about describing the products, how everything is organic, and fresh made. Ice cream is very creamy and flavorful. Mint chocolate chip was amazing, (no green coloring).

Tasty selection at a reasonable price, on the moderate scale but I think you pay for the quality on this one, plus the ambience is nicer than most & location clean. Went with a double scoop of chocolate and mint chocolate chip on a waffle cone. Creamy ice cream with a nice rich texture but not too dense thankfully. Cone was light and flaky so also tasty. Good stuff and service was fast. Overall I give a plus recommendation

Have tried their strawberry, banana and chocolate flavors all very good.
Strawberry and banana both have lots of real fruit flavor does not taste artificial. The ice cream itself is super creamy but with a lighter texture than some ice creams. I like how you can sit down and enjoy your cone inside the shop and service is great!

If it were up to us, most days would be filled with nothing but strong coffee and ice cream cones. And a neighborhood is not a neighborhood without at least one great ice cream shop — for Mar Vista, that place is Sweet Lucie’s. The organic, made-​by-​hand ice creams and sorbets can be found in Whole Foods and across town in their vintage ice cream truck, but this is the company’s first brick and mortar location. The story of how they started (including pregnancy cravings and an adorable growing family) is the cutest, the shop itself is bright and inviting, and the ice cream is yummy and made with all-​natural ingredients.
We had a scoop of the banana split and a scoop of the salted caramel on a sugar cone (AH-​MAZING!), and also sampled the black sesame and the vegan coffee (made with coconut milk and deliciously creamy). This is going to be our jam ALL SUMMER LONG.

A true mom and pop shop. The owner, staff, environment, and flavors make for an amazing experience! Also, to all those who are lactose intolerant or vegans, Sweet Lucie’s offer vegan ice cream! I’m neither vegan nor lactose intolerant, but will typically order one of their vegan options bc they’re that delicious.

Very cute ice cream shop on Venice Blvd. Their salted caramel is out of this world amazing. They run out of it frequently, which is good because it forces me to try other flavors. They have a blueberry cookies and cream (with vanilla cookies) that sounded strange but ended up being great. They have a little patio out back that they share with a coffee shop, so it’s a great place to bring kiddos.

Honestly, for the price, not worth it.
$ 1 for chocolate syrup? And let me tell you, it’s just a little bit of chocolate syrup.
Interesting flavors, the butterscotch and earl grey are very nice.
But again, definitely not worth the price.

came in here during Mar Vista’s first artwalk event last month. hadn’t even noticed it was here before that! we live within walking distance… this will be dangerous!
they had a variety of fantastic looking flavors out and i had intended to try a few of them and make a sane and rational decision like an adult, but … as soon as i tasted the first sample of Peanut Butter Brownie, before I could ask for another flavor, i found myself saying, «Oh my god, yes, I’ll have a scoop of that one please!» SO DELICIOUS. No time for other options. needed to have more of it in my face immediately. Very creamy, rich flavor without being too heavy, perfect size chunks of brownie, well-​balanced, just the right amount of sweetness!
picked up a chocolate chip cookie for the boyfriend, but he was underwhelmed… he’s very picky with his cookies, tho! they had several kinds that all looked good, if on the small side.
staff was sweet, helpful and efficient. i’d go back here in a heartbeat to try more things, since i was so impressed with the one flavor I tried already. Glad to have such a quality place nearby :)

Oh my god the chocolate peanut butter banana is sooo good!!! I got it with earl grey and it’s so creamy and great together! The coffee is incredibly strong so it’s great for coffee lovers! Will be coming back

Love that there is now an artisan ice cream place in the heart of Mar Vista! We stopped by on a Saturday after lunch down the street at Status Quo. The owner (whose daughter is Lucie) was very sweet and very generous with providing samples.
I got a scoop of Earl Grey and a scoop of Pistachio, both of which were DELICIOUS. I am a fan!!!

Bye bye Scoop West and Coolhaus, Sweet Lucies immediately become my #1 fav the minute I discovered them a year ago in the grocery market next door. Of course I am super excited to see them at Mar Vista and now a store front on Venice Blvd.
Store is clean, chic and kids friendly. I see Lucie in many visit I went there:). The couple works hard! I always see one if not both of them in the store, especially like on Sunday. They got a shared patio at the back for nice summer days.
Ice cream pro like me always get three scoops to share, sounds like that’s the only way to do it here as there’s so many great options. Tea flavors I think it’s their speciality, well one of the specialities: p. Earl grey and jasmine occupied two scoop in my bowl if these flavors are available. Last night I tried strawberry and cream and love it. I never order strawberry ice cream at any other creamery because I question the content in the pink and red color in the strawberry ice cream, SLs is a very light pastel pink, I know they don’t use artificial coloring and only use organic ingredients
Meter parking and make sure you are on top of that before 8pm as the ticketing crew works really hard to bring the city revenue up to the budget!

One of the workers looks like a living Ken doll :-) !! A nice little addition to the mar-​vista area. They’re generous with the samples and always willing to answer your questions. The fruity macarons make for a fun ice cream sandwich! The flavors are seasonal so they’re constantly rotating! Try the vegan options because they have been nailing pretty much every flavor!

It’s alllrrriggghhht. I sampled a couple of flavors here, but nothing to draw me back here.
Notes:
–Small, but I do enjoy the clean/​minimalist design.
–Not sure if I came on an off day, but a lot of my samples were not creamy, but more icy/​crystallized. Limited flavors, but Jasmine Tea was my favorite flavor!
–Found easy street parking
–Service was friendly

I had finished having dinner right around their neighborhood and wanted some ice cream so we stumbled upon this ice cream shop. I ordered their milk and cookies ice cream and I have to say it was pretty good (a little TOO sweet after eating some), plus I didn’t get to finish it all.
I didn’t get the owner’s name but he was just so nice. He greeted us in the beginning and before we left again, he made us feel super welcomed there. Prices are pretty fair also and I think their ice cream flavors are good. I think I tasted about 5 different flavors.
They don’t have a parking structure so street parking it is!

Had been told rave’s about this place by friends, and I am not saying they were wrong but to me it was just ok. I thought personally that their flavors were too sweet at times. I got the milk tea and coffee ice cream. They are very creamy and definitely strong in taste. For me the coffee was the best flavor I tried.
Location wise there is no parking around other than street parking so that is a bit of a challenge. It is however in a main street which makes it easy to find.
The décor inside is pretty plain I think, lots of white walls and some seating for those that want to eat in. Nothing too fancy. They do have lots of options which is a good thing as well. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I plan to come back and maybe try a smoothie next time.

I tried their ice cream and sorbet a few years ago when their truck was at a festival and liked them a lot so a visit to their brick and mortar was in order. But… the pistachio wasn’t as good as I remembered. The flavor was much more subtle this time around. Still, I included it when I ordered the FLIGHT. You get four golf ball sized scoops for $ 7.50, so a bit on the pricey side. My other flavors were cookies and cream, strawberries and cream and chocolate.
A good option if you’re in the area.

I had hoped for sweet dreams afterwards, but «Lucie’s» didn’t take me to that brink of reverie. This business chalks up a number of organic or vegan flavors, but some flavors lack richness and vividness, and are slightly icy over flavorful. Peanut Butter Cup had the bomb-​dest taste, getting all the goo-​goo richness in there. Coffee lacked the richness. And Earl Grey had a faint and mild tea taste that could have used a bigger jolt of pepper. I like gourmet ice cream, and I like «Sweet Lucie’s» as my neighborhood fallback. But it doesn’t compete with Los Angeles’ best creamery stand-​outs. I eat ice cream a lot — gallons and gallons a year — in case you weren’t informed. #goingfat

We just happened to be in the neighborhood and decided to give a try based off the reviews… Great decision! The ice cream flavors were amazing! We were able to meet the owner, he was awesome! Really enjoyed spending time eating our ice cream and looking at pictures on the wall! Fantastic story as how they ended up here, delicious ice cream, and amazing customer service! We will definitely come back! And you should too!!!
