These tacos can be consumed after a night of drinking or eaten alone in front of the TV contemplating why you are so alone in this world. For those short 5 mins(because these tiny tacos go fast depending on if you chew or not), you feel like you’re in heaven. Two corn tortillas are placed on the flattop, grilled to perfection and sprinkled with tasty oils and flipped over RIGHTINFRONTOFYOU. Then the cook places fistfuls the meat of your choice onto the tortilla. The amount of meat is perfect for fatties like me who like to make one taco into 2 by separating the tortillas and placing the overflowing meat into bottom tortilla. Then go to the fresh/clean condiment table to put on perfectly street diced onions, cilantro, lime and homemade salsa(rojo/verde) of your choice.

This place is just plain amazing! I seriously love that it is so mysterious and nameless. I recently moved just around the corner and stumbled upon this gem. I believe it is only open at night and on certain nights(I have the feeling its usually the weekends but I’ve seen it open randomly on other nights too… again how mysterious). The people running it are really nice but English is pretty limited to be ready for a bit of awkwardness if you like myself no zero Spanish. This place can be quit intimidating also considering their clientele seems to be only the local Spanish folk and walking up to the cart can sometimes feel like you’re walking into a party you were not invited to but if you can handle that you will be rewarded with the best taco in LA. I recommend the Al Pastor. It is simply perfect!

Ok… first off, this is a real place despite the fact that it doesn’t have a name. I am working on finding out what that is. Entrance is on the sides of the Korean shopping center where it’s located. Discovered this quite large late night Taco Stand recently while driving home from downtown. I will say that they have some of the best Tacos that I have tasted since moving to LA, plus the nicest guys working here. Young chef and older man helping out. Top pics: Tacos de Cabeza, which I am told are Beef Head… anyway, they are amazing. Best things here. Also good is the Carne Asada, Sausage, Beef and Pollo. Best to see what looks best to you. But I love the seasoning/flavors of this guy’s food. That’s where he really wins. Plus the prep work on the tacos themselves — well, you need to see and taste it, but little details that make things better are immediately noticeable. Their Horchata is also the best I’ve had. Great flavor and refreshing. Open super late and by far, the best Mexican street food I have had since Kike’s disappeared from downtown. You will notice that only Koreans and Mexicans eat here. No hipsters or gwai lo… not yet anyway… Enjoy!
