Food was good except for the cabeza tacos. They had a weird taste to them almost took away from the other tacos. The champurado is to die for delicious. The lady that takes your order has kinda of an attitude though.

I visited the taco trunk across the street one day after the Mayweather vs. Canelo fight. And my friend suggested that this truck was better. So, I went over, tried their pastor burrito(NOBEANS). Phenomenal! It wasn’t traditional in the sense that it was charbroiled. I’m no chef, but everywhere else that serves pastor is greasy. I didn’t go wikiped-ing«pastor», but the way they have it, taste right. There’s some kick in their red and green sauce. Side note, the taco truck across the street has the best packaging on any taco truck in the greater LA county. Environmental friendly, NO. But A+. Not your usual, paper plate wrapped in aluminium. Check it out.

Stopped here one night after not seeing el chato and Leos tacos being full. Got tacos de asada and al pastor and I can say they are both good although I prefer their al pastor tacos. Really good tasting tacos with a great amount of meat. You get as much cilantro, onion, salsa as you want as they have a station where you serve it yourself. If you order to go DONOTFORGET this! lol I had someone bring me some home and they thought they threw it in the bag. Also, it seems to me that this place is more generous with the meat on their tacos than the el gallito on La Brea and Venice.

Tacos here are great. Al pastor is very good(not the style where they drench it in hot oil. Love the hot salsa. It packs a kick. The tacos come with just the meat on two tortillas. Then you turn around and hit up their toppings table. Salsa, cilantro, onions, radishes, etc. Make sure you load up if you’re going home to chow down. This is a great option for drunk munchies(with a DD, or taxi in waiting of course). Case in point, I was here one night and a truck drove over the median going 30mph+… definitely not safe. I was thinking to myself, «$hi#! protect the tacoos!» haha

I stumbled across this little gem after leaving work pretty late one night. As I was driving down La Cienega, I just kept thinking about how much I wanted a dirty dog and nearly turned around to drive through Hollywood hunting for bacon-wrapped prey like a rapid wolf. Fortunately for me, I saw this taco truck on the corner of La Cienega and Venice Blvd and made a frenzied u-turn to satisfy my hunger. I ordered several tacos and specified that I wanted all of them but two to-go so that I could snarf down the food and then get back in my warm car to race home and eat the rest of the tacos. I ordered some pollo, asada, and carnitas. All were flavorful and moist and they had a big table with the usual taco accouterments, with zip-lock baggies so you can pack some cilantro and onions up and take them home. Hail to you, Tacos El Gallito! I shall return again.

Looking for a late night taco truck in Culver City? Look no further! Great prices and very fast service. The Horchata is really good– definitely worth getting to compliment the food. The tacos are $ 1.25 each and are typical size for the price. The meat is usually very good– sometimes the carnitas can be a little dry and the chorizo is typically pretty greasy, but it’s a taco truck. I have never been disappointed. I have been here several times and will continue to go here for my late night taco fix.

Late night, post concert, stop on the way home. The chorizo taco was good… a little too greasy for me… but the carnitas tacos were excellent… Should have had more of those, especially at a buck and a quarter a piece. I shall be back… Have a bunch more to taste my way through. And there ain’t nothing wrong with a little midnight snack… every once in a while.

I’m reviewing this truck because they have another identical one about a mile north that I cannot find on Unilocal. That is the one I go to, but I imagine they are very similar. The tortas are very good. The tacos and burritos are only okay. I have not tried the quesadillas. The prices are very low and they’re open quite late. This is one of my frequent stops on the way home from work. Not a bad way to get your fill of need-it-right-now mexican food. I like.

I go here all the time. Huge tasty burritos. I recommend pastor or asada. The tacos are also bigger than some other taco trucks. 1.25 for tacos, 4 for burritos.

My favorite thing there are(duh) the tacos: –THEIRLENGUAISTHEBOMB! –Good Asada –Lovely Cabeza –Buche is ok I liked the lengua torta I got one time, will have to try their other varieties. I have yet to try their Carnitas, but my dad told me it was a little dry. Tough to nail Carnitas down in a restaurant, it needs to be constantly fresh. Best part of all: The truck is there all day and is available for some late night munchies!

El Gallito is still one of my fav. This location is the only one I have not been to yet and somehow managed to stumble near here after a night out in KTown. Got the tacos. There’s variety of protein to choose from but decided to go with the default, al pastor and carne asada. Have to get at least one each time. One thing I like about El Gallito is that the meat doesn’t come all finely chopped, rather in chunks. Chunky pieces of meat between two two warm tortilla, with some of their red/green salsa, onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. Yesss. $ 1.25 for each taco, so… go crazy!

My friends and I stumbled on Tacos El Gallito while in search of another truck, and we were hungry enough for tacos to try it out. The tacos were fine, and they set our cravings to rest, but I wouldn’t seek this truck out again. I tried buche, tripa, lengua, and carne asada tacos, and they varied quite a bit in quality. The bad news is that the lengua was bad. I love cow tongue, but this stuff was dry and bland and only palatable when masked. The tripa was better, with a pleasant mild taste and texture, and I also enjoyed the buche. Pig esophagus was a definite first for me, and I liked the nice elasticity of the meat. For something a bit safer, I would recommend the carne asada. El Gallito’s was well seasoned and pretty tasty, if not the best in its class. Tortillas were decent and very pliant, and condiments were set up along the outside counter of the truck. We dressed our tacos with plenty of cilantro, white onion, radish, and salsa verde, and each plate came with a grilled jalapeño and half of a grilled onion. The toppings were all great and pretty fresh, but I didn’t love the grilled vegetables, which tasted half raw. Overall, not a bad spot for late night tacos, but Tacos El Gallito can’t hold its own against the formidable contenders in L.A. If I come back, it’ll be by accident, even if I wolf down a few tacos once I get there.

I’ve been to both trucks on Pico. This is location is great because they open just before the body shop closes, which is usually around 5pm. I’ve seen some of the same regulars here, which is a good sign that people keep coming back. The carne asada burrito is good, simple. The al pastor isn’t as good as El Chato but nonetheless it’s a pretty good taco. Six tacos and one burrito is about $ 11.50, which I think is a great deal. They have large gallon sized containers of green and red salsa, both are very good and freshly made each day.

Walking up to this truck more often than not drunk has happened way too much now… But I digress… when I was sober(one or two of the times if I remembered correctly), the food was still just as good. I usually get the al pastor tacos and nice that they give you a grill onion with it. Oh and very cheap so yeah, good find.

I guess this truck might move around because while I’ve seen them on La Cienega and Venice tonight they were located on La Brea and Venice just across from Leo’s Taco, which is apparently stiff competition. Hubs and I weren’t too thrilled with our meh Leo’s Taco experience so we decided to trek right over and eat some more at El Gallito. I was expecting to see El Chato because I heard it was suppose to be here, but when I saw El Gallito I was excited because I’ve passed by this truck numerous times on la cienega but have never ventured to try. I got a carne asada burrito. It had lots of meat, and thought the flavor and texture were good, but not great. I really liked the beans and rice in the burrito and the salsa condiments were fresh. Hubs tried the carnitas, carne asada, and pollo tacos. Really enjoyed the carnitas but it was too dry. Pollo was boring lacking flavor and again carne asada aok. All of this and sodas were less than $ 10…and the burrito was big. The people are really nice too. I probably won’t be running back to this place every week, but will try to come back every now and then.

Disclaimer: I accidentally deleted 4 of my reviews and my original review for Tacos El Gallito Truck was one of them. Therefore, this is an abbreviated version. Why do I love these taco trucks??? Because they are good, cheap and around every corner in the middle of the night!!! Who cares if they aren’t graded by the health department?! I’ve seen some place that have roaches crawling in their display case but have an A in the window. I order a lengua taco… it was soft, juicy and flavorful. It hit the spot after a late night movie. I wasn’t very fond of their salsa, so next time I’ll skip that… but overall, it was great! BTW, they have a PA system that they use to call out order numbers. So if you don’t hear them call your name from the window, don’t worry because they’ll hop on the loud speaker(it cuts in and out though… gives it some flavor!)

Was lucky to stumble upon the Tacos El Gallito Truck last night across from LA Live after seeing a movie. The Beef Tongue(Lengua) Soft Taco for $ 1.50 was the right food at the right time in the right place. The meat was especially soft and juicy. They have other kinds of tacos/burritos and would try the Carne Asada or Carnitas next time. The truck was busy, but still quick. If you are lucky enough to see this taco truck out and about someday, give it a shot. Much better than going to some fast food joint.
