The Dance Stew

My husband and I had not been dancing in a few years. With his high school reunion coming up, we wanted to get a little dance floor confidence back. I’ve taken a lot of dance classes over the years, and Stew is one of the best dance instructors I’ve ever met. And a super nice dude. He puts you at ease right away; we laughed constantly in between learning swing, waltz and fox trot. What I love most was Stew’s ability to watch us. He identified what our natural style was, and built on that He was able to see what we were missing in our moves and give us easy to follow instructions. Stew showed us everything from the most basic movement and expression of rhythm to solid ballroom dances. Could not recommend Stew more highly!

My fiancée’ and I wanted to take some lessons for our wedding. We found Stew and he was extremely helpful to us. My fiancée’ was nervous about the lessons and Stew made her feel comfortable. We just went through some basics and it has been a great help. We will be taking more lessons from him. I highly recommend him for any level of lessons.

I started taking classes from Stew a few months ago via a gift from a friend. I do have some dance experience and have been to many studios on and off over the years, so I know what I’m «NOT» looking for. When I first walked into Stew’s studio I was greeted with a warm and very friendly welcome. It was like he was just happy I walked in the door and not coming on with a sales pitch to get $$$$ out of my pocket, like some other studios. As I continue to come to class I get to met some new awesome dance friends, which makes me look forward to class every week. Stew keeps our classes fun with his bright smile and sence of humor as he teaches the fundamentals, steps, styling and musicality to the dances.
Stew goes even further then just providing dance classes, because what is a class if you can’t practice? He coordinates field trips with his students to go out and practice what he preaches, I mean, teaches us. He looks for places so we can all have fun, practice and enjoy our love for dance, no matter what level from beginning and above.

Not only did Stew give us the moves and choreography for our first dance at our wedding, but he also added confidence and fun to the mix for our big day. We really cannot say enough good things about him. He’s got charm, skills, and patience– all quite necessary for beginners like us. We took lessons on and off for the 6 months prior to our the big day and could not have been happier! It was a pleasure working with him, highly recommend!

I feel very fortunate to have found Stew. For years my partner and I talked about taking dance lessons, but we never really felt listened to at the dance studios we visited. The dance instructors we met seemed stuffy and uncertain what to do with us (we’re a same sex couple).
With Stew it was love at first Rumba. He’s funny, experienced, and has a real gift for working with people. He’s also fluent in all dances and effectively tailors the lesson to your personal preferences.
I work in rehab therapy and am a fitness trainer by trade and know when people truly understand how the body works and how to communicate effectively with their clients. Stew is a master at what he does and has given my partner and I a chance to grow closer and have fun together every week.
Investing in dance lessons with Stew was one of the best decisions we’ve made for our relationship and our lives have been enriched by our experience so far.
