Came here for brunch and loved it! I had the saigon calamari, duck confit flatbread, soft shell crab benedict, Hannah’s homemade noodles and guava mimosas. The calamari was very crunchy and the seasoning was spot on. The flatbread was delicious and big enough to share. The crab benedict had fried baos instead of english muffins and was served with potatoes and tomatoes. The clear winner was the guava mimosa — absolutely delicious and very dangerous! Everything was very tasty. Will be back!

I’ve been here once before for lunch but had only tried their garlic noodles which are reminiscent of Crustacean’s noodles. I had to write a review this evening because I really enjoyed their happy hour. They have number of items on the menu including shishito peppers, calamari, poke, chicken wings and a few other items. All of which are reasonably priced, nothing over $ 7.
They had a variety of beverage options — the wine of the week ($ 6) was calling my name but I was tempted to get the margarita or gimlet, both sounded so delicious. I opted for a refreshing glass of Pinot Grigio, happy they didn’t skimp and gave healthy pours.
The food was delicious, my friend and I wanted a snack so we got the poke ($ 7). It was so good that we ordered a second one before we finished the first plate. The fish tasted so fresh, topped with a taste of avocado and beautifully served with four sesame crisps and radish garnish. We also ordered the noodles which were good, their garlic lime sauce adds a unique flavor, it’s a must-​try as that’s one of their signature dishes.
This place is about to get placed in heavy happy hour (and dinner) rotation. Worth noting, the bathroom was super clean and the general ambiance of the restaurant is great.

Food was excellent, ambiance was perfect and our server James rocked the house with excellent 5 star service. Ask for him when you come over here. I will be back for sure thank you for an in readable experience.

Came here for my first time with a friend during DineLA.
Got the Kale salad, Viet spring rolls, Signature noodles w tofu, and Tapioca for dessert.
I also got a Moscow Mule to drink — not the best and a bit watery from the beginning. Not enough ginger in in at all.
The kale salad was built to perfection. Just the right amount of dressing, crunch on point, and proportioned parmesan cheese to complete the dish. I could probably eat a tub of that salad if they let me.
The Viet spring rolls were ok. Nothing too out of this world, but I could tell they were freshly made. I wish there was more of that crispness to them. Ours were a little wilted? soggy? I can’t really explain but not that feeling of crisp.
The noodles are apparently signature, but from what I saw, it was regular ramen seasoned quite well. Nothing particularly special about the noodles, and I can make the tofu on a daily basis. Wasn’t very impressed on that end. But my friend got the sea bass (which I recommended to her — telling her it will be buttery and melt in her mouth), and she absolutely enjoyed it! So I have a feeling their seafood is on point!
We shared the tapioca and the pineapple banana bread pudding for dessert. Both desserts quite tasty. It was a great way to end the meal and the portions were pretty big for the desserts.
Our waiter was extremely helpful in selecting dishes and very friendly. A little slow in between times in getting our order /​wait for food times. But I would give him an A+, because the night was very enjoyable.
The person at the front was quite friendly as well, but the lady doing the sitting was a bit rude. As the seater was about to ask if we wanted indoor/​outdoor seating, she cut in and didn’t give us an option. I found the moment to not be pleasant.
Love the interior space and outdoor patio area. Bathrooms are clean and those sinks are top notch!
Will definitely come to this place on special occasions and for some good vegetarian food :)

Solid 4 stars! One of the better spring rolls ive tasted, umade with cod. It was light, fresh crisp veggies, with the delicate flavor of cod. I also loved their signature house noodles. Prepare al dente with garlic and other seasonings is to die for. I’m not a noodle person, but these noodles left me wanting more. Would highly recommend giving it a try. The Soft crab Benedict and the short ribs were good, but not something I would come back and order.
The service was great, I wish I could remember his name. He was friendly, attentive, had great food suggestions. He made our dining experience very pleasurable.
Parking is $ 7 valet at lunch time.

Halloween weekend, I decided to fly down to LA for a party fest. On my trip, a few of my friends took me to this joint they said had awesome food. No matter the word of mouth, I always sneak a quick look at Unilocal to make sure it’s consistent when their review. Overall the reviews were good, so of course, I was up for trying this joint.
Really nice restaurant, reminds me of an LA spot. You walk up the stairs and notice inside and outside seating. Heaters to help you enjoy the patio. Our server was super nice and really took care of our table during service.
Apparently the idea is to share dishes here. We didn’t really listen to that though. For starters, we got that Fresh rice paper spring roll for $ 12 and the District wings for $ 12. Definitely the wings over the rolls but both offered two very different experiences. The spring roll was filled with chef’s choice protein, rice noodles, carrots, mint, cucumber and tamarind sauce. The wings had a special Szechuan rub, scallions and peanuts. Both were packed with flavor which was good. For dinner, I got the Bo Kho, Braised short ribs for $ 32. Short ribs, charred onion, French baguette for dipping, heirloom carrots, Vietnamese herbs and served as more of a soup. Honestly, not much of a fan. The soup through me off a bit and the short ribs were packed with flavor but wasn’t as tender as I’ve had in other joints. Not a disappointment, just not a standout.
This place though, is a cute spot and offers a variety of items I’m curious to try in my next visit. If you’re ever in the area, come by and check them out!

Do not come here if you expect regular sized portions (I knew something’s awry when our server explained that their plates are shareable and are «small to medium”-sized).
I found the $ 12 Cha Gio (Vietnamese egg rolls) to be an embarrassment. 3 small egg rolls sliced in half diagonally. Each egg roll was no more than 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. They were nice and crispy and well seasoned, but for $ 12, I think 4 would have been more suffice. Even the plate seemed to be too big for the small bit of food presented on it.
I found the Crab & Uni Noodles at $ 36 to be a sad looking dish, about the size of a half sized bowl of ramen at Shin Sen Gumi Hakata Ramen. I don’t where the 2 small pieces of uni came from, but they neither looked fresh, nor appeared to be from Santa Barbara. The uni wasn’t creamy and lacked the flavor you normally get from fresh uni. The noodles were presented rather dry, with a little bit of sauce at the bottom. With panko bread crumbs sprinkled on top of the noodles, the noodles would have been absolutely dry and muted in flavors, but being able to toss the noodles in that sauce, made the dish more palpable. I wish there was more of that sauce. There was a decent amount of shredded crab meat tossed in.
Their signature noodles was the above but without the uni, crab and sauce. Dry and uninspiring. We didn’t even try to finish the entire plate.
The Coriander Crusted Lamb Chops were rather tasty, and not from the mint pesto sauce, which was a bit on the subtle side. The chops were well seasoned but sliced on the thinner side, about 1÷3» thick in the center and about ½″ thick on the outer edges. We ordered the chops at medium temperature, but were served medium-​rare. The curried Brussell sprouts had a nice seasoning and char to them.
We also ordered the Buddha Delight Clay Pot, a stew of cubed root vegetables, tofu and seitan. This dish was quite tasty, and the root vegetables of potatoes, kohrabi and onions were slightly overcooked in my opinion. A bowl of rice came with the dish — first time I ever saw a scoop of rice sitting inside a rice bowl.
We opted to finish off dinner with a dessert of Pineapple Bread Pudding. Ice cream was refreshing, and although the bread pudding was tasty, it was a bit on the firmer side, especially since it was only 1/​3″ thick.
Décor in the interior dining room is elegant and bright. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Brunch review.
This is a nicely appointed restaurant with both modern and rustic touches throughout the space. Service was friendly and efficient. We decided to order appetizers only and share.
Breakfast Banh Mi $ 12 — choice of house-​cured pork belly or slices of filet mignon, pâté, pickled vegetables, fried egg
The sandwich was larger than expected with 2 eggs, one on each sandwich half. The flavors were reminiscent of a traditional banh mi but elevated and with more upscale protein offerings. Both the pork belly and filet options were tasty.
Hannah’s Phở Bo $ 13 — Sliced filet mignon, rice noodles, onion, scallion and bean sprouts
Again, the portion was larger than expected but not like a big bowl of phở at a traditional Vietnamese phở place. The flavors were nice. The accompanying sauces had a nice, spicy kick.
Breakfast Flatbread $ 14 — Fried egg, pork belly, thick cut Applewood smoked bacon, potato, cheese, pickled onions, sriacha mayo
Thin, crispy flatbread with 2 eggs, slightly underdone. The flavors are similar to the banh mi. The pork belly is cut into tiny pieces, so the flavor got lost in the mix and was overpowered by the bacon. I would not order this again.
I was pleasantly surprised by the brunch menu and service. They also offer bottomless mimosas for $ 20pp if you wish to indulge.

Came here because the food looked fine on Unilocal.Very bad decision.
The clay pot cod fish was ok but too sweet. The rice that came with it was cold and very hard — like overnight rice.
The uni and crab noodle was horrible. The waitress informed us that they were out of uni so they gave us one piece of prawn. The dish itself tasted like bread??? It was very sweet and the noodles did not taste like noodles at all. It was dense and just over cooked and VERY weird. Did not taste any crab/​«uni butter» like they claimed. Tasted like one big bowl of hot mess.
The service was not great. A waiter kept wanting to take the other dishes away, even though I was clearly and obviously still working on my food. But the hostess was friendly when we first came in.
The ambiance was also average. Decided to sit outside. The weather was good. But they turned on the fire outdoor heater and it was too hot and uncomfortable. Felt like I was sitting in an oven.
All in all, I will never come here again.

So disappointed with my dining experience here. Came here for lunch on New Year’s Day because we thought the food looked interesting and the décor was nice when we checked out pictures and reviews.
We initially ordered 2 uni and crab noodles but the waitress told us there weren’t any uni so the chef would replace it with a piece of shrimp instead of the uni. We decided to go with 1 order (thankfully) — and it turned to a «no-​uni and crap» noodle. Here’s why: The noodles were overly cooked and were so mushy and chewy. It was so sweet and oily with too much butter. And the shrimp obviously didn’t go well with it. It was just a colossal train wreck.
We also had the phở, which was also way too sweet and tasted like sugar soup instead of beef phở — very appealed as we were so flabbergasted as to how a Vietnamese restaurant as well established as this can mess up phở.
The grilled shrimp salad we ordered too was pretty pathetic, $ 19 for one small shrimp and a little bit of salad.
Service with our waitress was okay, she was pretty clueless and nonchalant when we voiced dissatisfaction for the noodles. We also had an annoying busboy who kept taking away our plates WITH FOOD and our cutlery when we were mid-​meal. Still chewing our food, with food on our plates…
Cleanliness was very poor too, as the plates we were given had dried ash from what seemed like a burned stuff.
Overall we were very disappointed and will not be returning. Come here only if you’re okay with very sweet Vietnamese fusion food.

This was a surprisingly awesome Vietnamese fusion restaurant. I definitely see the similarities to Crustacean but still having its own identity although the noodles at Crustacean’s is still the best. The Phở was really good and a definitely more refined one compared to its street version counterpart. Make sure to order the oxtail with it. That was the best part of the Phở.
The lobster which I think is their signature dish was really good, tender and succulent. The price is pretty steep though for the amount of lobster you get.
THE BANANA TAPIOCA was amazing — it wasn’t too sweet so you just want to keep eating it. I will comeback here just to have the dessert.
Service as a bit slow, food came fast but we just had a very interesting waitress. She tried to be really nice but I just felt that she was too robotic. Not too much to complain about just didn’t feel right.
Altogether, this was a great first visit to The District.
Valet parking is 7.00 but there is street parking if you don’t want to pay that much.

If you’re looking for a trendy, borderline-​opulent ambience with premium priced Vietnamese food, this is the place to go. There’s nice overhead fires outside and a mix of modern dark elegance décor and rustic wooden tables with EDM blasting in the background. Music eventually shifted to smoother music a la The Weeknd/​Miguel around 9:30pm.
There was a good selection of cocktails, though with more prosaic names like «Love you long time» and «Hot Asian.»
With ties from a master of seafood, Helene An, the seafood here is great.
The District Wok Fried Lobster is a must. I’m a big fan of lobster and was not disappointed. The dish was complimented by Hannah’s handmade noodles, which is a must as well. Great consistency and flavor (with no flavor overpowering the other).
The dumplings here was pretty good as well. Comes with five dumplings.
The Bo Luc Lac (Shaken Beef) was a little less impressive. Some complex flavor to start, but felt it quickly faded to something less flavorful and more chewy with a lingering peppery aftertaste. The sauce that topped the filet cubes and kai-​lan was a little strong as well.
The Banana Bread pudding was a great finish. Would recommend. Both the banana bread and ice cream were on point.
Service could have been better, though perhaps they were understaffed the night I was there. There was one server for one entire side of the restaurant (maybe the other half as well) so it was a little tough to flag down service. Tables, including mine, weren’t fully set with utensils and table towels (though people at other tables probably snatched them). But they were attentive when they were nearby about waters.
If you stick with the seafood fare, you won’t be disappointed.

Very unusual for a Vietnamese restaurant to be classy. But I’m always open and welcoming new experience. This location is very classy. A nice restaurant for a date with group of friends or family. It’s upscale and romantic.
I came here for a special Gogobot event so the service was a little different and the food as well. But from what I’ve experienced it’s pretty nice and at the same time I’d only come here for special occasions since the price are skyrocket vs. going to any Vietnamese place to get authentic food for $ 5.
You definitely pay for the experience but how much is that worth for you?

I had the pleasure of having their 3 course dinner.
It is located next to the famous Lady M and super close to the Beverly Center so the location is Golden.
The Lotus Salad was pretty good especially with the lotus on top was more of a crunchy texture.
My main dish was pretty good, full of flavors and imitates what my mom’s cooking.
The Banana Bread pudding was very inconsistent. Some people had huge pieces of it and mine was a flat sad dish, in which I had to return for another order.
The ice cream on top and the caramel really made the dessert pretty delicious.

Wow! What an upscale Vietnamese restaurant. I was int the area and wanted to give District by Hannah An a try. I’m so glad I did. The minute you walk in you are greeted with a hello and smile. If you are a person who really enjoys excellent Vietnamese food you are in for a real treat. No more then 2 minutes after you are seated your drink order is taken. After couple more minutes they ask you if you are ready to order you food.
Here are my recommendations for appetizers:

They have a great happy hour menu. I love the fact they have a friendly vegetarian menu for all the veggie eaters. Hands down one best restaurants in town when it comes to Vietnamese food. If you are coming here for a lunch or dinner you will enjoy anything you order.

Very cute, trendy date night spot. I’ve passed by it often and sadly it’s never crowded.

Ok so here we go.
Came here over the weekend and was actually surprised by some of the meals they serve. To be honest, I expected steaks and big platters.
The food here is good. I tried their Phở which was tasty but a bit bland even after putting condiments in it. I think the best part was the «side noodles» which in the menu are not given enough credit. These were real tasty actually and definitely a must have.
Location, this place is in a very nice strip along 3^rd street which has many other options. They do valet and it is very nicely rustically decorated. There is plenty street parking, at the time we went, but valet is also convenient if you cant find any.
Staff, the staff here was ok, a little disappointed on the fact that it wasn’t that busy and we got waited on us very little. I think in about an hour we were there we saw the waiter 3 times total. I personally think its a little for the time we were there.
Either way, I want to try this place for dinner maybe.

I came here for lunch with the hubby on a Sunday and it was not hard making reservations a few hours before and getting seated quickly.
For starters we ordered the Saigon Calamari that was pretty delicious. We also got the Crab & Pomelo Quinoa which I have to say was ok. I think it was the fact that the salad had grapefruit and I’m not a fan of that. We also got the Hannah’s Phở Bo and it was also pretty good, and it comes with sliced filet Mignon. Finally we finished it with the Homemade Noodles — omg!!! myyyyy favorite!!! I really enjoyed their noodles, service and food. Definitely want to come back especially for dinner.

My visits here always include the noodles. Chef Hannah hails from Crustacean that as many know… are known for their noodles. Both times I’ve been here, the noodles are the star… except it’s a tad sweet for my liking. Desserts are meh and not the showcase here. The service is ⁵⁰⁄₅₀. Meaning, there’s always a need to ask for something several times before we get it. This location has had multiple turnovers over the past few years so it’s disappointing when the service is sub par.
Prepared to valet on any given visit, especially during the week.
