I would be surprised if the cheesesteak sandwich had more than 2 ounces of meat. I’m not expecting a porterhouse in my sandwich, but there was so little meat, it wasn’t worth mentioning it on the menu. Elevating a grilled cheese sandwich is possible, they just didn’t do that. No way I’d return, with 8,000 alternatives in the area.

Terrible execution of a kitchen. I shouldn’t be waiting over 20 minutes for my order. They’re making each order individually instead of prepping for multiple orders. Not efficient! To make things worse… They over charged me… Not by much… 30 cents or so. Total BS! Classic grill cheese combo… 9.95, shroom burger $ 6.95, kids cheeseburger 4.95, milk $ 1… Roughly $ 23. Plus tax… Let’s say 10%. That’s still $ 25.30. They charged me $ 25.67. I didn’t want to wait in that long ass lone over a couple cents… But that’s total Bullshit! In the end… The food’s not even that good.

McDonald’s offers a better burger and that’s not saying much. The Burger was cold and the fries were soggy. The grease saturated through the brown paper bag they packed my meal. The hamburger bun was stale and the pickle they put beside the patty was pathetic. I don’t expect gourmet, but for an 11 dollar combo meal for lunch That I waited 10 minutes for was way over priced. I would have done one star, but I gave the burger to some homeless guy who seemed very happy about eating a disgusting meal. I guess if you’re homeless and starving even The Melt tastes pretty damn good.

Ordered Mack and cheese. It’s basically watered down nacho cheese with noodles. Oh and the crispy onions are from a salt shaker. Who knows how long it’s been there very disappointing considering its $ 5 for a tiny portion of Mac and cheese

I am an avid cheese lover, so of course grilled cheese is a favorite for me! I went with the classic grilled cheese, and it was alright. It had just enough spices and flavors to make it special in its own way, but it didn’t stop me from feeling that it was a bit overpriced for bread and cheese. The soup was creamy just the way I like it, I enjoy my soup piping hot, so I was kind of disappointed that it was served to me warm. But I digress, it was a pleasant food court dining experience that could have been better!

Cashier was friendly and service was great. We ordered the Original Cheddar Burger combo and Steak Lovers Grilled Cheese. The burger combo was pretty good, not too heavy or greasy, but satisfying. The burger held together after the first bites. It was juicy and saucy at the same time. The cheese had melted on the patty onto the outside of the burger and it was great. The fries that it came with weren’t that great. You could skip them. The steak lovers was really meaty. I took one bite and it reminded me of a Philly cheesesteak. The cheese was stretchy like every great grilled cheese should be! The soda fountain is so cute! We tried the black cherry flavored and it’s not too carbonated or sweet it’s perfect !

Another option at FIGat7th’s fairly sizeable amount of food options. It’s originally from NorCal, but for some reason I never actually went to one up there. Well, I was in an unhealthy food mood, so The Melt appealed to me on this particular day. Had the Steak Lover Grilled Cheese with some fries. Pretty good, but considering I paid $ 10+ for it, I felt kinda… dissatisfied? Was still kinda hungry after, so I felt a bit let down by the amount of food that was given. Not sure it’s worth how much I paid for it.

If u like salt, u will love this place. Everything so salty even the water! Ack. Ok ok sarcasm aside. Melt is supposed to be some boojie burger spot. Well it is not. More like a cleaner, non plasticky mcdonalds. Hell the chicken sammich is same size as a mcchicken. Severely disatisfied with portions here. Reaalyy effen puny. Still hungry afterwards. Sad. Anything this $, salty and small is two stars. Great service and staff hence two star, not one star. Ackk. Blah. Told u carrie i was gonna write some reviews b4 slumber: p

Menu items are hit or miss here, also depending on who makes it. The mac and cheese was seriously lacking cheese and the little it did have was not melted. The grilled cheese is tasty, but was also a bit skimpy. My favorite thing here was the fries, perfectly crispy and I am obsessed with the seasoning the use here. Service was a bit slow, items came out after each other so some of us had to wait and others were already done by then. Clean and bright space, plenty of seating. Descent menu selections, though no really healthy options, this is a great cheat day stop and since the portions aren’t huge it’s really not too bad. Worth trying but not worth rushing back to.

Got their Italian Job with a side of Caesar Salad. The salad was super delicious but the sandwich was mehh. Very few pieces of grilled mushroom and the cheese was hard and tasted not very fresh. Very nice service though! They seemed excited to serve us and give us our food.

I love grilled cheese sandwiches and ever since I started watching Jane the Virgin, I had sudden urges to go to Target and get grilled cheese from The Melt. Honestly though, it’s just eh okay. Food is fine and service ranges from polite to rude. I get a classic grilled cheese, tomato soup, and fries. I’ve seen others order the burger combos, which were mostly fries and a little burger. Don’t think about multi tasking and making a quick run to another spot while your order is getting prepped. You’ll get attitude cause they’ve «BEEN calling you» but will have it on a tray even though your ordered it to go and your fries aren’t there even if it’s all written out on the printed receipt. Food court fail.

Horrible cashier staff! I ask them to explain the menu to me, as I have never been here, and didn’t understand how to order(there are different sections you choose from). The cashier then responds, «What don’t you get?» & proceeds to look at the other cashier and laugh. How rude. How embarrassing. I proceeded to take my business elsewhere.

Visit was on Dec. 7th, 2015 I went here with 2 co-workers. It’s a shopping center with parking available. You can get validation and pay $ 1 when you exit. The restaurant is located in the food court along with multiple restaurants to choose from. I ordered the Original Cheddar Burger with naked fries, and a fountain drink $ 10.86 with taxes. You have the choice of medium or well done patty which was a surprise to me as fast food restaurant do not do that, but this restaurant does it. Good Job! Combo was delicious! just perfect amount.

Service was great, they were very friendly. I ordered the classic grilled cheese with sweet potato fries garnished with fresh Parmesan cheese. The grilled cheese was good, but the artisan bread did not compliment it well. The fries were the winner for me very flavorful and the Parmesan went will with them.

Don’t let the size deceive you. It’s a very juicy, tasty burger. I really liked the sauted mushrooms and the whole grain wheat bun they serve it on. I’ve never seen snickerdoodle milk shake so I decided to try it anf not disappointed at all.

Meh. It was dark and gloomy in LA so my boss and I decided to get some soup and some comfort food. Well this place had both. We decided with the Italian melt and the mac & cheese melt(forgot the specific name) and two tomato basil soups. The Italian wasn’t so bad — rich in flavor. The Mac & cheese melt didn’t give me any wow factors. Probably something you could make at home. The soup was bland. No ‘basil’ flavor too it. Straight from a can probably and really water downed. Wouldn’t go back.

My family was at 7th and Fig to run some errands, and we decided to eat in the food court(which we’ve done a number of times before). I walked by The Melt and decided I wanted a burger, so I ordered the ‘Shroom Burger on a potato bun, naked fries, and a Cookies and Cream Milkshake. I also got my daughter the Grilled cheese kid’s meal. The burger was not good. First of all, it’s about the size of a McDonald’s cheeseburger. Secondly, they really skimped out on the mushrooms and grilled onions. And finally, they advertised that they cook the burgers medium with a pink center, but it came out cooked completely through. I understand this isn’t a $ 15+ gourmet burger, but if you claim to use all-natural angus and WAGYU beef, why can’t you cook them at least medium? I’d rather pay half the $ 7 price tag and get a Double Double at In n Out. The fries were actually decent, as was the milkshake, but overall, this isn’t a place I would return to.

For their next trick, burgers, shakes and a more expanded menu. If you didn’t know, it’s a soft opening for their Grand Re-Opening. That’s when I was here. As long as you are in line, you get an entrée, a side and a drink of your choice. I do know that if you hop back in line again, you get an entrée, a side and a drink of your choice. It has been done and that’s how you maximize the menu to try as many things as you can. There wasn’t a limit on this particular Wednesday evening before their grand re-opening on a Friday night. I didn’t get back in line as I knew about this almost at the last minute but when you get off of work as late as I do, your friends have already been through the line at least once. So you do get the benefits of trying other items ordered. I tried the BBQ Bacon burger as I ordered the ‘Shroom burger. Truffle fries and the mac ‘n cheese was pretty good. If you have not been here, you should come check out the really neat looking pull tap when you get a drink. Cane soda by Boylan Soda. I’ve never heard of it but apparently Gary G. is raving about it. He’s gotten too excited that refills are required. The Cane Cola was good but I prefer the Cane Root Beer instead. A little something different in the taste that I would pick that over the regular cola. I did come back down here to try another burger on my own. I love bacon and I love BBQ. The BBQ sauce to me tasted sort of weird but the bacon. Oh damn, that bacon is all you see inside the bag and even when you place it on a plate to take a picture. First five bytes are all about the bacon before you pick up the burger. It’s like working your way through a forest of bacon but it’s two giant strips of bacon. Have I talked enough about the bacon yet? For $ 6.95 plus a drink, yes I got the root beer again. Lunch on this particular day was about $ 10.
