The Redbury Hollywood

Absolute best hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Redbury. The staff, especially Bryan, was so friendly, nice, and willing to go out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Will never stay anywhere else in LA again. We didn’t want to leave it was so great!!! Will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay at the Redbury. In particular I must point out the most delightful Saba McGee, she is such a sweetheart. She is a Manager and so darling, I met her immediately upon our arrival, in the Ladies Room, she had super cute shoes on! And she said she was changing into her heels to go to work! I thought she was so personable, had no idea she was in management due to her unassuming manner. I met her again on the last nite of our stay, in the restaurant bar, where we enjoyed a delicious meal, had a delightful bartender, Elvis, and Saba treated me to a birthday dessert! You guys rock! Thanks so much and I am looking forward to coming back here, as well as visiting your NY location!

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in the US. Huge room, amazingly furnished and decorated with a full kitchen and living room! Reasonably priced for basically a full suite! The staff is amazing! My husband and I came up from Encinitas for our anniversary and were presented with a bottle of champagne and very sweet handwritten note from our «host» Bryan. He was incredible! Called and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us awesome dinner and lounge recommendations. Highly recommend The Redbury! We’ll be back as often as possible!

Such a mean staff. Some girls fought earlier in the night so they entire team was so mean. I’ve never experienced such a hard time to swipe my card. Blown away by disappointed!

This place sucks. Drinks are horrible, bartenders are rude. Worse place ive ever been too. Only good thing is the scenery. Everything else sucks.

The best part of this restaurant is their small appetizer plates that you can share
But if you come alone get the skirt steak and potatoes

I had my sister’s bachelorette party in Hollywood and we stayed at the Redbury in a beautiful suite. All of the staff was welcoming and Gilbert Vela and Leo DeMarsh made our stay very special. Thank you so much! I highly recommend!

The Redbury is truly my go-​to hotel in the heart of Hollywood. Since it’s in the heart of Hollywood, everything is in walking distance. The rates can be a bit expensive, but luckily, I had a corporate discount. Even though the Redbury had a vintage 50s; 60s feel to it, it is definitely for a younger vibrant crowd. I got the 3^rd floor room that overlooked the courtyard. The room was beautiful and well designed; included queen size bed, a large kitchen area, stand up frosted glass shower that shows your silhouette, I hope you’re not shy. This particular room fits 3 people comfortably. (side note: If you do not like noise, do not stay in a room that overlook the courtyard. Saturday nights can get a little noisy as they throw parties at the courtyard, but I didn’t mind since I was in LA to party not sleep :) The staff was very helpful with any and everything that I needed to know about Hollywood. I can’t wait to book my next hotel stay during my next trip to LA.

I’m a business traveler that usually stays at Marriott, Hilton, and/​or Hyatts. Every now and then, I have to break loose from the norm, roll the dice, and try one of the small boutique hotels. the experience is usually «hit and miss». In this case, I hit the jackpot. I loved this hotel. It drips with old school rock and roll charm. Think leather and lace, Hollywood and Vine, large suite with big character, vinyl records and 60″ HDTV. You can swing from the stripper pole in the kitchen, walk in a shower for two, and/​or lay in a super comfortable bed and chill out. This hotel has character and it’s classy. Do not hesitate to stay here. You will be very happy you did.

Just a really great place to stay in Hollywood! If you are unsure and its your first time and you want to truly feel like Tinseltown but without tourist everywhere This Is It! It’s Hollywood and Vine, if that doesn’t mean anything to you then stay 100% at The Redbury! Everything is better here and if you do not truly appreciate what I’ve said here then you will once you have stayed somewhere else after you’ve been here!

There are many things to like about this hotel. All the rooms have a kitchen, which turned out to be really nice to have. However, I personally had too many issues with this hotel to want to come back. The main problems were:
1. The entire hotel STINKS! I read another review further down that says the hotel smells nice, but I guess I personally don’t enjoy the powerful whore-​scent throughout the entire hotel. And my dog did not appreciate it either, as she could not stop sneezing every time we were in the halls.
2. While I appreciate that the hotel is pet friendly, I really wish they thought more about what «pet-​friendly» actually means other than collecting a daily fee of $ 25. For example, there is no convenient place to walk your dog anywhere near the hotel, and it would be nice if they could put in a small strip of lawn out on the patio.
3. They charge a ridiculous $ 6 per 15 minutes to use their «business center» with additional charges if you need to print something (I think it’s like $ 0.60 per page?). I have never stayed at a hotel that charges me for either, much less $ 6 every 15 minutes to literally stand at their tiny ATM sized business center. F-​you Redbury. .. I didn’t pay $ 400 a night to be nickeled and dimed for this crap. Plus, I already paid the daily rate for Wi-​Fi ($ 8 or $ 9 a day) plus $ 40/​day for valet and $ 25/​day pet fee. F-​you and your stupid computer center and $ 0.60 for printing!
4. Creepy décor. I can tell from other reviews that some people like this, but the entire hotel is dark (which makes it harder for the cleaning crew) and decorated with creepy over-​sized pictures of dead-​looking women. When I need to go to the fourth floor for ice at 2am in the morning, the last thing I want to stare at is a picture that resembles a corpse.

4 days after our stay at The Redbury I noticed an additional charge on my credit card for $ 500. I called to inquire and was told that we left the faucet running which caused significant water damage to the room. As always, we did a thorough room check when we left the room to make sure no personal items were left behind. The faucet was not running. I was never notified of this damage by any staff person at the Redbury prior to noticing the charge on my credit card. I had to call 4 days after our stay to inquire about this mysterious charge that suddenly appeared on my statement. When I did call the hotel manager said they were not going to remove the charge or provide any further details. Did a staff person not check on the room soon after we left? Wasn’t housekeeping in there to clean the room shortly after our departure? What date did the damage take place? Photos of the damage? You have lost a return customer over a silly $ 500 charge.

stayed here for my best friend’s 22^nd birthday celebration! super easy to find the hotel and you can either valet (which i hear is extremely pricey… especially since i only saw bentleys valeted) or go ahead and park at the lot over next to avalon for $ 20. when we arrived it was beautifully designed with a restaurant on the first floor. super loud but its hollywood! what do you expect?! on the upper levels there is a beautiful view and a really nicely designed interior. the rooms are spacious and very modern with an old school twist.
large balcony, comfy beds, lots of couches, stripper pole in the middle of the table (we def had a good use for that… dance party anyone?), record player w/​records there to play, huge vanity and walk in bathroom, really nice shower… do i need to go on? truly impressed with this place and you’d think with it being in the middle of hollywood that it would be extremely loud but it wasn’t!
highly recommend and will consider this if i ever need a hotel in the heart of hollywood. literally everywhere (clubs, restaurants, etc) are surrounded by this place. perfect for anyone who wants to experience hollywood the right way :)

One of my favorite hotels for sure — we got the Sunset Suite and it was huge & very nice. The restaurant (Cleo) is great, everyone that works there was cool, and it has a great overall vibe. Minus 1 star because overnight parking is $ 80 for a single night. EIGHTY DOLLARS. I mean, I know it’s an expensive hotel, but that is ridiculous. I never asked and just assumed it was something unreasonable, like maybe $ 40, which would be a bit silly. But nope, $ 80. To park. At a hotel you are a customer at.

My absolute go to. On a serious note this a a fantastic location with the best staff I have ever had the pleaser to meet! Brain is fantastic! Honestly everyone is! This review is based off of three stays spaced between a year. I’m very picky and I am so pleased with the amazing room. It’s roomy, clean, and modern. They only offer enchanting suites! I was able to cook a full course meal, and store champagne in the fridge that is provided! Trader joes is two blocks away along with popular banks and cafes! Seriously such a treat! Hashtag home:) Book your stay for multiple nights.

Found this place through Unilocal while searching for Hollywood hotels and I’m so glad I did! Booked a one night stay for a short birthday weekend getaway. Upon checkin, Leo pleasantly greeted us and check in was quick and simple. He graciously upgraded our room as he mentioned that our original room might be too loud since it’s right next to the club.
I was pleasantly surprised by the size and comfort of the suite we had! From my research, I didn’t expect our suite to be this huge. I loved the size, comfort, and ambience of the suite, and the record player was a nice touch. Loved everything about this hotel, the décor is amazing and you really feel like you’re in Hollywood. It’s basically an apartment, with a full sized kitchen and a… stripper pole? (if you’re into that kind of stuff. hehe!)
Valet was a little steep, but you get unlimited in/​outs all day. There is a public lot right next door though if you want to park there instead. There are lots of things to do in the area, all walking distance. Can’t wait to come back here again!

This place truly is home away from home!
Gilbert the mgr. Was super kind and accommodating! Kudos! Kevin was great at the front desk and Matt was a superb representative of the establishment at the valet! From start to finish it was a great experience! They have pots and pans available upon request for adventuresome folks like me who went to the weekly farmers market on Sunday around the corner! But when I caught a cold and was down in the dumps per se, that’s when I could tell the true caliber of the crew here! They gave me everything I needed and wanted! I went to the library (which has many of the items from the restaurant Cleo at happy hour prices!!!) and got some great grub! (oh yeah tons of veggie options!) The crew kept my hot water glass filled!(thank you!)
Check out was a breeze (Gilbert thank you for helping me across a couple hurdles!)
The hold took a couple days to fall off but wasn’t that bad. Overall: 5 stars for a five star team! Where can you be in the heart of Hollywood, stay under the «heart» and feel such care away from home! Thanks again guys! See Ya next year!

I am in love with this place. Our room was gorgeous and stylish. The hotel has a sort of 1920−1940ish inspired vibe. I would definitely come back here.

I was not impressed by my stay the Redbury, but as a counterpoint the people who I traveled with loved their suites.

Firstly, I entered the room and immediately went to dump my stuff in the bedroom. Large, obvious, «suspicious» stains on the coverlet. Called reception to have that, plus some food items I was allergic to removed and a pan delivered to the room. Went to sit on the couch. Also covered in «suspicious» stains. Had me creeped out about most of the surfaces in the suite for the duration of my stay.
When the man came, after about 15 minutes, he dutifully took away the offending food, coverlet «Oh, housekeeping must have missed it» and made a note of what was wrong. When I mentioned the couch, he said «Yea, we’ve tried everything to clean it, we’re waiting for the go ahead from management to get that replaced». Well, management, reading these reviews, I’m not the first person to complain about a stain covered couch. Get it together, you should really have the budget with the amount you’re charging a night.
So over the next 2 days of my stay, I found that the veneer was peeling off my bathroom drawers, the lid was missing from my kettle (causing me to nearly scald my hand before I realised that wasn’t a design feature). The air-​conditioning was so drying I woke up with a sore throat both days and the safety check on the hairdryer was broken.
Less importantly to most, but important to me, there was no tea selection. I’ve stayed at beside-​the-​airport 2 stars with a better hot beverage selection than this place, which had nothing but coffee (I still tried it, way too bitter for me). I noticed there was tea on the mini bar menu, but alas the tea was not offered in my mini bar selection. Really, I did not expect to have to pack tea.
Oh, and ladies, the bathroom lighting is not great for putting on make-​up. They seemed to know this and offered a plug in light up mirror (which there was no space for, and didn’t work very well). I didn’t see the point in complaining to staff about that as it’s more of a design flaw, but for me it speaks to the overall character of the hotel. Aesthetics over practicality/​customer service.
The room was paid for by my company, so I wasn’t going to get into a big thing at reception. When I was asked did I have a nice stay, I mentioned everything to the lady and she said great, thank you for the feedback, and we’ve waived your 10 dollar internet charge.
Great.
Then the guy behind me in the queue who had nothing wrong with his suite and a larger internet bill, also had it waived.
… Great.
Things I did like were the kitchen (severe allergies that are difficult to eat out with), the location and the bed which was very comfy.
But no, based on the suite I got, I would not go here again. It’s totally not worth the price. I have stayed at similarly priced hotels elsewhere and the attention to detail I would expect just was not here. It’s a lot of flash, and not much substance.

I love this place! The cool retro décor, the working record player, Cleo downstairs… it was the perfect weekend!

I haven’t stayed in many «Hollywood» Hotels (other than the Loews on Hollywood/​Highland), but this last weekend, I had a chance to experience the Redbury… and I must say, it was pretty nice. We were in town for a wedding, and the party moved to the Redbury (where the wedding party was staying). I cannot really give you the total review (because I didn’t go through the whole process of booking, checking in, etc), but I will do my best to convey the experience.
Location/​Ambience: Its in the middle of the action. Pantages is a short walk. Lots of eateries near by. Quite convenient if you ask me. The ambience and vibe was true hollywood. Hip and tasteful. There really isn’t much of a lobby (checkin on the 2^nd floor). Although it was a happening place, it got pretty quiet by 1am. I was able to sleep without any problems. Next time I would love to check out Cleo and the Library.
Rooms: We stayed in a suite. It was very large and spacious. Great amenities including: kitchenette (all the things you need to cook and eat is avail), fridge, microwave, keurig (I just wished they had disposable coffee cups to take on the go), etc. The sitting area was big and had a nice TV. There was even a record player with classic records to use. Our room was facing Vine and had a nice patio to hang out in. I like the flow of the room, it was spacious. Restroom was nice and shower area was big. They are very «earth» conscious (offers 10% discount on food if you don’t get room serviced) and I like that. The only thing a tad confusing was the light switch. There were plenty of plugs for your devices.
My only complaint was that overnight parking was $ 39. I thought that was kinda steep. Otherwise, this is a great place to hang out in and have friends over.

You’re at the center of it all. Hotel is at the corner of Hollywood and Vine. Rooms have a kitchen living area a nice bedroom area. You also get a cozy balcony to sit at and watch Hollywood go by.
Perfect location to stay if you’re going to the Pantages.

When I first conceived of «Theatre Birthday Weekend» for my 5 yr old daughter («Sound of Music» on Saturday and «Annie» on Sunday), I knew I needed a special hotel to bridge the two. As soon as I started speaking to Rebekah about our plan, I knew I’d found the perfect place!
As we pulled in, Matthew greeted us with a big smile, and my daughter was smitten. He made my little one feel right at home, as did the folks at check-​in (including Rebekah, who shared a delightful introductory chat with my daughter.) They ensured that we were in the perfect room for our needs. You MUST take a quick tour of every floor, as the beautiful photos and decorations are unique on each!
Our room was more beautiful than we could have imagined, and my princess immediately decided she wanted to live here. We turned on the real vinyl record player and listened to Sinatra, Ella Fitzerald and Duke Ellington all weekend. We explored all the wonders of our room (Rebekah had left us a personal note) and the terrific street view it afforded, then wandered out onto Hollywood Blvd. to enjoy the many nearby food and shop offerings. Within blocks there are delis, restaurants, souvenir shops, the Chinese theatre, the Pantages, the El Capitan and a million things to gawk at.
We saved a little room for dessert, courtesy of room service, who also kindly sent up 6 candles as a birthday surprise! It wasn’t long before the birthday girl snuggled into the luxuriant bed and snoozed away. I was concerned that street noise or sirens would keep us up, but after about 10pm it quieted down, and we were not disturbed. We were also away from the courtyard side of the hotel, so we had no noise or disturbance.
On Sunday we had delicious (and reasonably priced!) breakfast sent up and dined in our bed with rare morning TV (the great selection of movie channels is appreciated). Also convenient is the 12pm check out time (11 would have been difficult). When we checked out, the staff was as kind to as at check-​in, which is rare.
There were many additional personal touches and individual moments over our two days at The Redbury, and I can’t wait to bring my wife back for a kid-​less romantic weekend. So if you’re not worried about coupon codes, and looking for a custom experience where you will feel like royalty among finery, you cannot go wrong by choosing a stay at Hollywood’s beautiful The Redbury!!!

The hotel is a nice classic Hollywood type hotel. The environment is immersive, the staff are all very accommodating, and the rooms are very fun.
I stayed in an entry level room and I must say I was impressed. A full service kitchen, spacious countertop and living area, a nice modern bathroom, and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on.
My room even came with a vinyl player that at first I thought was out for show. Then I realized the room came with its own vinyl selection. Nice!
Did I mention it’s right across the street from Capitol Records?
This is a great place for a getaway or if you want to entertain guests while traveling. It’s almost too much room for one person.
I noticed a lot of other negative comments about the staff before coming here, so I was wary of that aspect. I encountered no problems, but I do suspect (and ONLY) suspect that if you were to come in here and not respect what the place was about (be too touristy, too cheap, not tip etc) I could very easily imagine them giving you an attitude. But hey… At that point I might too!
⁴⁄₅ and not 5 only because I do think it is slightly overpriced for their accommodations, and also because it took me 12 minutes to not connect with the front desk from my room. After I couldn’t get them I put on some clothes and walked down there myself to get what I needed.

This hotel is amazing. Love the eclectic and old feel it immediately gives you. Rooms get an A+ from me. Very spacious. Toilets are the short size. Felt sorry for my husband who’s 6’4. Over all great place to rest. I took my family of four to the Erykah Badu concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Compliments of the hotel, they took us and picked us up afterwards. That was nice. My daughters slept on the couch pullout and they slept fine. You should definitely do the The Redbury experience if you’re in the area.

Picked this place for its proximity to a Hollywood Hills party that I was attending.
And…the Redbury exceeded my expectations.
We stayed on the third floor, (booked the Sunset Suite) overlooking the Library lounge. That made for some fun people watching. I was thoroughly impressed with the room’s ability to shut out the noise.
The layout of the room was also great. Since I was on a liquid diet (i.e. champagne), I had no use for the kitchen. Still, I appreciated its presence; it gave a nice homey vibe. I liked that there was a full size champagne bucket. The ice machine was on the 4^th floor, which was a minor inconvenience. The record player was a nice touch.
The star of the room was the canopy bed. It was really comfortable and did not have any distracting squeek.
I really had a great time. I’ll be back.

The room was amazing!!! It was so beautiful and Hollywood-​ish. There’s a balcony, a kitchen, a beautiful shower and a private toilet. The door man was very nice! The check in guy was ok (maybe that’s how he is)
There was not a lot of choices for in room dining (hence 4 stars)
But highly recommended!!! A little pricey but worth it!!!

This is a hidden gem right at Hollywood and Vine! I found a great deal online for a suite and my heart almost stopped when I walked in the door! Our sunset suite was 800 square feet with funky but comfortable furniture. We loved all of the cool touches like the record player, crystal decanters and the coziest hotel robes ever. The king bed was comfortable and the bathroom large. All of the staff we encountered were warm and efficient. We stayed at another very iconic Hollywood hotel recently and were extremely disappointed. Luckily we have found our new favorite hotel in the area. We will definitely be back.

The hotel is dark and elegant. The young lady who checked us in (her name escapes me, but she has short blonde hair) couldn’t have been more helpful and sweet. She genuinely wanted to make sure our party was comfortable for the night.
It was a few of us girls in Hollywood for the night and this room was perfect! It had a kitchenette, a balcony, and was decorated ever so chic. You could even see the famed Hollywood sign while making drinks.
We had a Highland Suite on the 5^th floor. The bed was super comf, but if you’re a light sleeper like me, than you’ll probably have a hard time sleeping through the night as The Avalon Nightclub is next door and you can most definitely hear the untzUntz untzUntz .
They have a restaurant on site and a bar that raves good reviews too. Did not try either.
There’s also a cute and quaint outdoor area to have drink or two.
Would stay here again with the hubby for a quick getaway.

Located almost in the heart of Hollywood, this is an ideal hotel to stay at if you want to party the night away with so many places within walking distance. Keep in mind where you are — this hotel is not sound proof from the «late night crowd» so if you plan on sleeping early and you’re a light sleeper… and with that being said…
I LOVED STAYING HERE! I’m always on the lookout for hotels that will surprise me and make me remember why it’s different from your normal expected luxury hotel. I understand when you’re on a romantic getaway or sometimes with your family you want to stay somewhere that’s «a safe choice» with the nice rooms and all the amenities but nothing that you wouldn’t expect.
The Redbury is one of those awesome exceptions that you’ll remember who you were with. In addition to everything that you would expect from a nice hotel, they also had a record player with about ten records to choose from and a stocked kitchen with a stove! We fully made use of the record player as I got to dance the night away with my gummy bear to very old songs lol! Not only that, we woke up early in the morning and went to the Hollywood farmer’s market (open every sunday starting at 8 am) which was located less than 5 mins walking from the hotel! We bought all the ingredients to make some lovely omelets and the hotel provided us with everything we needed.

I haven’t stayed in a lot of hotels out here in LA, but The Redbury is probably one of my favorite hotels! I stay here with friends whenever I’m in town and I have friends playing the venue next door. The rooms are huge, providing a little kitchen and living space area which is great for hanging out and allowing you to feel comfortable while you’re there. It’s a great location and is located around a lot of awesome restaurants and you can take a stroll down Hollywood blvd. it’s got old Hollywood décor and has a boutique feel.
Definitely not the cheapest hotel you’re going to find, but it’s worth a visit and stay, or even just a trip to the library bar located in the hotel.
