At Urban Med, we take a multidisciplinary approach to patient care with a combination of treatments from our chiropractor, medical doctor, physical therapist, acupuncturist, trainers, Pilates instructors, and massage therapists.

History

Established in 2010.

We opened Urban Med (formerly named Urban Fit & Therapy) in order to make state-​of-​the-​art care available to all patients through their private health insurance plans.* Our multidisciplinary approach provides a new kind of care that emphasizes not only acute and chronic injury rehabilitation but preventative treatment and overall wellness. We mix physical therapy techniques with weights and Pilates, therapeutic massage with chiropractic treatment, and modern digital technology with patient education. Our primary mission is to help keep patients fit, functional, and moving at their maximum level.

My answer to Tory: 5min with Dr Ryan billed $ 180 to my insurance. Urban Med has to charge this much «by law»? This is a joke. The appointment I scheduled through your booking system on MindBody do not match the billing details you sent to my insurance. I estimate you overcharged me over $ 2670.
This is turning to be a nightmare and I have to seek help to fix this situation. I reached out to the Chiropractic Board to start an investigation on Urban Med’s billing practices. And I’m bring Urban Med to Court to recover the money they overcharged so I can continue my treatment with another chiropractor.

I would definitely not recommend Urban Med for physical therapy with Bihn Ly.
Yes, the location and facility looks nice and after reading a lot of positive reviews about the place, I decided to come in for my long awaited physical therapy to heal my knee pain of two months. I left the office in 10 times more pain then I arrived, and today I’ve been immobile. Whatever he did to me was not good. I even consulted another doctor after my visit and he was in complete shock when he heard that the PT had me do squats on my bad knee, when I was limping to walk in the first place. Spare yourself and don’t come here. He was a nice guy, but definitely not trained enough to work with delicate injuries. I’m afraid I have longer to recover now than before I came to Urban Med.

Amazing! I recently went to the Urban Med (Beverly Hills Location) and I found the most amazing, qualified educated group of individuals to help me with all my therapy! They are so smart and dedicated. Danielle is an amazing coordinator, Blake is a top notch fitness trainer and Dr. Ryan is highly qualified and caring! and omg the Massage Therapist was amazing. You would be lucky to be able to go to this Treatment Center!

I just had a free consultation with Dr. Ryan Chapman. He was really helpful in the feedback that he had for my knee pain condition. Great service haven’t got any therapy done from them yet because of my travel time is too long from my home so he was kind enough to help me find a good Dr. Close to my home. Very good gym and the best part is 24 hour access. All the machines, floor and bathroom are always immaculately clean. The price is reasonable. I also have had a friend get chiropractic treatment there and she said it was fantastic. This is a gem in the heart of DTLA.

I feel so lucky to have found Urban Med, if I could give them more than 5 stars, I definitely would! I came to the clinic not because of an injury but because of general weakness and a feeling of my body giving out on me. Dr Hashish has been a godsend in explaining exactly where my weaknesses are, something that many other doctors had tried & failed to do. In the short time I’ve been working with Dr Hashish, I’ve gained so much more control over my body and become more in tune with my own strength. I’ve worked with other PT’s before and simply put, he’s the best.
Ive worked with Dr. Ryan Pendon too, who is also a miracle worker in fixing pain and strengthening the body. After just 1 session with him, I feel so much more energized and stronger in my everyday activities.
I really feel that everyone should have some sort of physical therapy in their weekly plan, especially if living in a city like LA. I don’t know what’s my favorite part about Urban Med: the amazing customer service, sleek facilities, accommodating staff, variety of services, or very affordable pricing (for Out of Network insurance)… I haven’t tried the juice that they sell, but that would probably be on my list too. Overall, you just need to check out Urban Med for yourself, it’s a life changing experience and you’ll be happy you did :)

I’ve had the pleasure of being treated by very good chiropractors, in multiple states, but Dr. Ryan and his crew are the best. Very much a healing long term facility. In depth analysis of my issues as well as preventative homework. Add to that a full gym plus other services and classes? Phenomenal. Very holistic. I’ve sent my own clients and fighters here and they’ve come back healthy and ready to train.

I have been going to physical therapy for a foot pain condition that has pained me since I broke my foot back in San Diego back in 2013. I have tried multiple doctors throughout southern california to no real avail. I was referred to Dr. Hashish through a coworker and I couldn’t be happier! He was able to pinpoint the actual problem, which contrary to a bone condition that other therapists stated was the problem, he more thoroughly evaluated my condition and found out that the problem stemmed instead related to my running shoe, stride and gait. He’s worked with me for the last few months and I’ve never felt better! Dr. Hashish is the best Physical Therapist in all of LA (and southern california for that matter). He’s simple put, fantastic. Can’t be beat!

I and the front office went through a bit of research to make sure Dr. Badday was in-​network. Dr. Badday changed the price, after the appointment, and haggled me out of all I had at the time. He said I should get ‘right on the reimbursement’ from Anthem, which Anthem later told me is against their policy. I called Anthem after he ignored a phone call and many email requests to furnish the information Anthem requires for reimbursements.
This is all 2 wks before Christmas. After contacting the front office again as well as his personal email address the following Monday. He replied saying he’d been out of the country and his ‘IT Firm’ reported a ‘glitch’ that had affected his email, he was unaware I knew he’d been contacted at his personal address as well.
Long story but he’s refused to refund my money less a copay and says he will return it once he’s paid by Anthem. Which Anthem said was not in accordance with their contracts and suspicious. Furthermore Anthem said he hadn’t even filed a claim, which is done electronically, it had already been more than a week since I paid him. Anthem suggested and helped me file a complaint to state insurance regulators.
Urban Med has said it’s not their fault or responsibility. They were included in the complaint as they assured me he was in-​network and facilitated the appointment that ended in haggling.
I expect to have to go to small claims court for my money.
Don’t do business with these people.
They literally stole my Christmas.

Dr. Hashish is an AMAZING physical therapist! I’ve been in and out of rehab for my chronic ankle sprains, but as soon as I would finish, it would get worse again. He educated me on the attributing cause and worked with me until I was back to 100%. He was always so kind, professional, down to earth, but most importantly — what he does WORKS! I have used Dr. Rami Hashish for all my physically therapy needs. He has helped me rehab two torn ACLs and Two dislocated shoulders with which I have been having constant problems for over 10 yrs now. I can honestly say the core work and shoulder exercises he has taught me has done wonders for me. I can now do things I haven’t been able to do since high school. If you have any injury he is the one to go to.

So I’m writing this review as I patiently wait for my 4:30 chiropractor appointment with Ryan and I have to say I owe a lot to this place for getting me BACK on track. (Ba dum tsssss)
I know I know, I’m kind of punny.
But seriously this placed fixed my back when I felt something slip out of my lower spine stretching improperly after years of not taking the right physical precautions while lifting heavy and half marathon training. I owe a lot to Ryan and Andrew, who are both amazing chiropractors. They both found my problem areas and fixed it. It was very difficult for me to sit, sleep, sneeze/​cough, and enjoy my daily life with back pain and spasms. And now I’m almost back to 100%. So thank you guys at Urban Med! :)
Also, another thing I have to review here because I’m one for aesthetics and being a gym rat. Urban Med has a very clean environment and offers a lot of amenities, combining physical therapy with an upscale gym for a reasonable price. There’s Pilates, weights, cardio machines, cables, and all that good stuff. Oh! &&&& they also sell Juice Served Here! Can’t go wrong with juice now? Riiiiiight? ;)
Okay gonna go get my back realigned! Be riiiiiiiight BACK!

A secret gem hidden in South Park. This place is a one stop shop. Stop in for massage, Pilates, chiropractic or personal training. The facility is spotless with excellent instructors. Allison, Teresa and Dr. Ryan are all top notch !! Laura is amazing too. Urban Med is a true sports therapy haven. I previously lived walking distance away and loved being so nearby! Check out Urban Med for any of your needs. P. S the prices are great.

I have been going to Urban Med for over 1 year. I came to Urban Med because of Blake Raymond, having work with him as a PT aide for over 4 years. His knowledge of physiology and kinesiology is excellent and he is always patient and encouraging. I have an arthritic condition that effects all joints, especially my back. Although I will always have problems and pain, through my work with Blake, my overall strength, mobility and flexibility are great. I would not go to anyone else.
Although I came to Urban Med to continue my therapy with Blake, all the staff is friendly and responsive. I receive weekly therapeutic massage from Teresa. Teresa is a great and she has a way of knowing where all the «knots» are. All the staff work together to give you comprehensive treatment.

Urban Med is beyond exceptional, both the personnel and the facility.
I went there to recover from a broken elbow and have been getting the kind of care I could only dream about.
Compared with being treated at USC years ago for something similar, it’s difficult to even put the two places in the same category. Urban Med makes other physical therapists look like the DMV. You get one-​on-​one attention as opposed to being part of a therapy factory in a larger hospital setting.
The staff is brilliant — Dr. Hoffmann is helping me rebuild all the strength and mobility in my entire arm, not just the joint that was injured. I feel like I’m laying the muscular foundation to be better than new.
It’s a relief to know I’m in such good hands with Urban Med.
I would go to them again for any other PT I needed in the future.
Let’s just hope I don’t get hit by any more cars.
