This place is great — very solid selection of hardware and nice juice varieties as well. Most importantly, as noted in other reviews, they are very knowledgeable and actually understand how these devices work. I’m not new to vaping so I’ve gone to a lot of shops and generally I hear a lot of misinformation related to performance and safety (or total disregard of safety), so it was refreshing to come here and actually be able to have an intelligent conversation. I must have spent an hour there trying stuff out and I walked away with a nice new setup. Thanks John! Look forward to coming back.

I have been coming to this store since their opening in 2012 and haven’t stopped for good reason. After touring most if not all the los angeles vape stores I was disappointed and shocked at the mis-​information being taught to customers purchasing a high powered electrical device which if used improperly may cause major injury or even death. These guys mean business they know their products front to back and can easily recommend a device that will give you the experience you prefer.
I stumbled upon this store in my own backyard of Highland Park right on Fig! John and Scott are very knowledgeable and friendly when we first met they asked about my vape experience so far and how my smoking habits were so they may be able to recommend the best devices for my needs and expectations. I bought some juice based on these guys recommendation and it became my EDV for about 1 ½ years so they actually listen and recommend products that fit your tastes.
This store is what vape shops should be a welcoming enviroment and great service no matter what. Almost every other store you walk in and it feels like you walked into a private club of cloud chasers who look down on you for not using a mechanical or for only having «polite» sized clouds that dont fill a room in two hits. On top of that many stores I’ve visited don’t teach battery safety at all and get paid to build coils which are usually unsafe to use unless you have experience with building. So dont go to those other shops that dont care and stick a potential pipe bomb in your face, go to Vapeology LA where they see people not clouds.

Been living in Highland Park for 7 years now… Didn’t even know about this shop till yesterday… Hidden gem. There juice selection is remarkable… Didn’t have the one I was looking for… got something even tastier… Made a return customer out of me… The owner… John…very helpful… his recommendations made my day/​days.

Vapeology is by far the best vape shop I’ve ever visited. Both John and Scott, (British Accent), are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. If you have any questions about hardware or e-​juice they will be sure to give you the most informed response in a kind and thorough manner. The prices are fair & they stand by their products. If you have any issues with something you’ve purchased from them they will work to repair if not straight out replace it for you. This I’ve experienced first hand. They’ll never sell you a substandard product and they make sure that every juice they carry is produced in a safe and healthy environment. I’m sad that I’ve had to relocate across the country and am not able to just stop by to say hello and chat. Even still, while I may be across the country, I continue to order my vape supplies from John and have no plans on switching shops.

I’ve been to a good amount of vape shops ranging from terrible to ok, but I’m always happy to visit this place.
I value intelligent and friendly people overall, and vapeology delivers. As other reviews attest, John and Scott are great people. They’ll give you intelligent advice and information, I never feel like I’m being pitched a product, every visit produces good conversation about vaping or anything else I want to talk about.
Reviewers complaining about a wait time are ridiculous. I don’t want to be rushed out, why would you? Sometimes multiple people show up and you might have to wait. Get over it, plan for it. For what it’s worth, I haven’t had to wait in any of my dozen visits, but if I did, I won’t fret. It’s the reality of a popular small business. Given the service here, any wait would be worth it. Besides, the couches are comfy.

The store is very clean and spacious. There is a couch if you wanna hang while vaping. Shopped for vape juices to give as a gift and John and «british guy» were very helpful in helping me choose which. John gave me great prices on juices.
There’s a free 1hr street parking w/​c is a luxury given that it is along Figueroa.
I highly recommend this store to anyone who loves vaping or is gonna start vaping!

As a new vaper, I had a lot of questions. John answered all of them in a very understandable and non-​pretentious manner. Will definitely be coming back and sending all my friends here!

home.I never got the chance… Scott returns asks to see my TANK
and the genuine and elusive CUSTOMER SERVICE begins
to reveal itself! Scott takes apart, cleans and dries, replaces&fills my
TANK with Ejuice hands me back my iTASTE svd vaporizer and says «try this but first take a few DRAWS without holding the POWER BUTTON
to PRIME the NEWLY replaced ATOMIZER» (something I already knew to do)
its the thought that counts right??? a CLASS ACT indeed!

I got my first vape here and was a customer for many months after until I went in one day to buy three Kanger Evods. I asked the salesperson if he had any Kanger evods in stock and he showed them to me. Since I trusted the store and the person who was selling it to me, I purchased the heads and went home. When I got home, I compared the three evods I had just bought (at 12 dollars a pop mind you) to another evod I had purchased at a very reputable dealer in SF (for 9 dollars). The three vapeology had sold me for more than MSRP were knock offs. KNOCK OFFS!

I visited this establishment once and I had a great experience with the owner, John. This is not a fancy, nor hip store but the knowledgeable owner and quality products make up for any cosmetic shortfalls. I believe, John makes great pains to make sure that the e juice he sells are made in clean and quality lab conditions and will not sell you a product that was made in someones bathroom and dirty kitchen, I appreciate the due diligence on behalf of all of us vapers. As for hardware, I have no comment except that he told me that he spends countless hours trying to make sure that he is buying legit products which can be a tricky situation with all the counterfeit products coming from China. Vapeology was the first place I went to for vaping needs. They were super helpful and explained a lot to me, that was back in January. Since then I’ve tried some other shops where I’ve had good and bad experiences but I always return to Vapeology. John is always happy to help and I’ve had awesome conversations with him. The other dude who’s name I forget is awesome too.
One thing I appreciate about the guys is that they don’t try to up sell me, they give me the honest truth about equipment and juices. If I ask about something they explain the differences but rarely tell me that what I have isn’t any good. I’ve had other shops tell me that the things I like and are working well aren’t what I should use.
At times it’s a bit of a wait but I don’t mind waiting a little while for full attention and great customer service. It seems the store is always improving, more and different equipment and new and interesting juice flavors. The only thing I wish is that they were open a little bit later but that’s because I work a later shift and miss closing time occasionally, pretty much on me but it would be rad to see them later in the evening sometimes.

I was introduced to this place a few months ago by a friend who had switched to vaping and wanted me to check it out. I had tried E-​cigs few years ago and I really didn’t care for it and stopped using it. Well as it turns out, E-​cig technology has come a long way in the last few years and the newer models do a much better job at simulating a regular smoke without most (but not all) of the nastiness that goes along with it.
Fortunately we showed up during a lull in the day, so John was able to go in depth about the different models they had, and what would be the best match for me, as well as testing out many of the flavors they had in stock. Ended up getting an Ego-​C Twist and a few bottles of E juice and have been using it regularly.
I’ve returned a a few times since then, and at times (especially Fri-​Sat) the place gets a lot of traffic, and you really won’t be able to as much sampling and testing. So if you’re new to this, try to avoid those times or wait in the lounge till things die down and you’ll get great personal service. John knows his stuff and it’s like hanging out with the Big Lebowski of the Vaping world!
Tip: Once you’re set up and want to go back, it’s a good idea to give them a call to see if they have your product/​parts/​E-​Juice in stock before you make the trip.
One suggestion to Jon and the staff at other Vape stores: See if you can have an extra person during peak times that only sells E-​Juice and parts. Kind of like an express lane. Most of your regular’s know exactly what they want and don’t want to be behind the group who’s holding up the line by sampling and testing everything. But other than that, it’s a great place and looks to be doing really well. Thanks!

The store is located right in the middle of other stores which you might pass since they look alike. The sign isn’t so huge but look for the address and sign on the window. Look well cause you might pass it like we did. But once you find it you will be happy.
I had a great experience here with John. He was very helpful in all my juice and Vape needs. How to clean and keep the Vape on longer than expected. John let me sample almost all of the juices JK but it was a lot. He told me which would be good and which not to try. Since my taste was very weird. I love the fact that he cleans the trials very well.

A Great Store to Select an E-​Cigarette for the Transitioning-​Off Smoker

Having a lot of friends & relatives who smoke, I enjoy opportunities to help those who want to quit, transition off real cigarettes and find a workable solution to their quitting altogether.
But such a process takes time, dedication & commitment, and a MECHANISM that will help the individual. And so my purchasing a kit here to give to a friend who wants to get off actual cigarettes has been an excellent choice.
SETUP
Primarily, once a smoker has already decided that quitting cigarettes altogether is a decision they want to pursue, then they must find a particular path that will (1) help them change their behavior to non-​smoking; and then, (2) provide them a realistic path to continue to maintain their new behavior as a non-​smoker.
Some individuals actually turn to food, turn to god, turn to Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum or just quit COLD TURKEY. But this does not work for everyone. And the addictive effects of nicotine — the primary ingredient in cigarettes that keeps the smoker attached to this incendiary product — often needs to have it’s impact diluted over time in order to work in the long-​term.
The electronic cigarette — or E-​Cigarette — is one assistive device that helps the smoker accomplish their goal of quitting eventually.
JOHN HARTIGAN & VAPEOLOGY L.A.
Mr. Hartigan has fortuitously opened a store in the Cypress Park hood of Los Angeles area that is bringing this new assistive technology to the immediate Glendale-​Burbank-​Echo Park-​Cypress Park areas. The tech runs anywheres from $ 40 to $ 100 depending on how elaborate you want your e-​cigarette device, the quality of the components, and how much stuff you want to purchase at one time to last over a period of time. While on the topic of components, there are basically 3 essential areas: a plastic cartridge that serves as a mouthpiece and a reservoir for liquid; an «atomizer» that vaporizes the liquid; and a battery.
CARTRIDGE
It passes the liquid to the atomizer, and vapor from the atomizer back to the user’s mouth, without leaking liquid into the mouth. When the liquid is depleted, users can refill it or replace it with another pre-​filled cartridge.
ATOMIZER
A small heating coil that vaporizes the liquid, consisting of a simple filament and wicking metal mesh to draw the liquid in, the Atomizer is positioned in the center of the three components that make up the entire electronic cigarette cylinder, as the cartridge attaches to one end, and the power unit to the other. [The atomizer’s filament will lose efficiency over time due to a buildup of sediment, or «burns out» entirely, requiring replacement.]
In some models of e-​cigarettes, the cartridge and atomizer component are integrated, known as a «cartomizer».
BATTERY
Most portable power units contain a lithium-​ion rechargeable battery and makes the largest component of an electronic cigarette, and are usually charged via an AC outlet, car or USB. Some manufacturers also offer a cigarette-​pack-​like portable charging case (PCC), which contains a larger battery to charge smaller batteries of individual e-​cigarettes.
E-​JUICE
This is sold in a bottle or as pre-​filled disposable cartridges. Many manufacturers offer dozens of flavors which resemble the taste of regular tobacco, menthol, vanilla, coffee, cola and various fruits, but nicotine concentrations vary by manufacturers. The standard notation «mg/​ml» is often used in labeling, sometimes shortened to a simple «mg». Nicotine-​free solutions are also common.
HEALTH CONCERNS
Proponents of electronic cigarettes often claim that electronic cigarettes deliver the experience of smoking and greatly minimize the smells and health risks associated with tobacco smoke. However, the health effects of inhaling nicotine vapor into lungs have been a subject of uncertainty and no standard procedures have been applied to the production of e-​juice. So in all fairness, the buyer must consider these risks and whether they outweigh the overall benefit of transitioning off the carcinogins of regular cigarettes, as well as considering this assistive technology as a means to quit their nicotine habit altogether, rather than just switch one addiction for another.
THE LOWDOWN & ULTIMATE BENEFITS
In the meantime, from what I’ve seen and understand, the e-​cigarette provides a viable alternative to lessening the risk to the individual, eliminating the risk of second-​hand smoke to third parties, eliminates the waste & refuse of cigarette butts in the environments, and eliminates the stench & smells that one finds in a smoker’s home.
These are reasons enough why I will continue to encourage my smoking friends indicating an interest in quitting to go visit Mr. Hartigan at Vapeology L.A.
