California fresh means just that — no additives — fresh. The dough for our pizza crust is prepared daily using fresh yeast and given the proper time to ‘proof’ (rise). The resulting shell is a true baker’s crust. Our cheese is the finest Wisconsin mozzarella available.
To ensure the quality and freshness of our toppings, we make our own sausage, meatballs, marinara sauce, balsamic and Italian dressings, fresh crushed garlic, clam mixture and pesto according to special house recipes. Our produce is fresh cut and local. No microwaves ovens are used here!

Steve moved to California from Brooklyn in 1979 and immediately missed the pies from neighborhood pizzerias in Brooklyn and Queens that made California pizza pale in comparison. Seeking to remedy the situation, he purchased Village Pizzeria and serves the LA area with the freshest New York style pizza in the city.
