I grew up on these sandwiches now I enjoy them with my kids. If you haven’t had one I suggest you come and enjoy one soon.

Atwater Village is very lucky to have Vince’s Market. You can grab delicious sandwiches for lunch and fresh produce that you will need to make a healthy meal for dinner. I like that they have«Mexican» spices at very cheap prices. I can always count on Vince’s to have a ripe avocado ready but you have to ask the friendly cashier for one since they’re kept hidden. The sandwiches I enjoy are the avocado and tomato, turkey avocado, or the famous Ham and Cheese. Vince’s never disappoints(unless you go when they run out of bread).

I love Vince’s the sandwiches they are so simple and so delicious. I’ve been coming here since I was in high school and the sandwiches are as delicious as the first day I tried them. Honestly I don’t know what makes them so good. It’s a little ham cheese mayo and cole slaw-type of topping. I’m currently in my car waiting for them to open :)

My favorite for a no frills, affordable sandwich. Highly recommend their pastrami sandwich that you get a generous heaping of mouthwatering pastrami topped with a delicious spicy mustard. A nice hidden spot in Atwater. No seating though– but I usually go on days when I don’t mind sitting and eating on the curb.

The cashier(lady in all black) continues to be RUDE! Don’t understand how the owners continue to let her be employed. The man who makes the sandwiches is the best! He’s the only reason I continue to go their. If you’re looking for a good affordable bite to eat? This is the spot. Just ignore the cashier in all black.

Awesome tortas!!! Such affordable price. And very friendly people. I found this place by word of mouth. And most definitely go back and have some more food. It’s the perfect food to take on a picnic or on the go.

I read all the good reviews, I even saw the inviting exterior with the pictures of food, and an audaciously misleading slogan outside to the effect of «best meats in the world» The people running the place were kind and friendly. The produce case was nearly empty… but to their credit, the few vegetables in the case were at least fresh enough. seems about 20% of their retail space is dedicated to sugary drinks. The meat selection was tragic. With all the cold cut sandwiches and promises of good meat, what did I find? A sad selection of probably no more than 9 cuts of meat, and hardly a cold cut selection. The case looked gross and I was hard pressed to buy anything. What I did buy was at least fresh, so at least they have that going for them. The selection was sad, and there were a lot of empty looking shelves. I try to avoid VONS and other corporate supermarkets but places like this don’t encourage me to do so. I wish there were more appealing independent markets in this area.

I agree with the ham cheese, always a classic, but try it with their fresh guac. so good. Add a bag of chips and a soda = heaven. Market could use a face lift, but great family, chicano owned and run business. Always down to spend my money there.

This is a little neighborhood market but hidden in the back is the sandwich counter(take out only). My husband came her when he was a kid so the prices have gone up a little. I have been coming here for over 15 years the ham/cheese was 75 cents now it is 1.50 but they r so good very simple .ham cheese lettuce and mayo on a bollo roll. Cant beat it i buy 2 or 3 and take them to work. They stay in the fridge for a couple of days in a ziploc bag

I am such a sandwich junkie, so I’m always on the look out for good affordable sandwiches to sink my teeth into. I heard of all the raving reviews of Vince’s and thought I should give them a try. They are a small neighborhood hidden little gem. I got the turkey and cheese sandwich with extra pickles and my sister got the roast beef. Boy was I enjoying that sandwich all the way home. I couldn’t wAit to get home so I chowed down my sub in the car while driving. Using the one hand on the wheel to drive. Every time if came to a stop people next to me would stare at me probably wondering why I was so busy and happy eating what looks to be a normal bolio bread with turkey. Lol little do they know that it was the best bolio and turkey ever. Give them a try, especially if you are on a budget! You cannot go wrong:)

October 1939 Vince’s Market on the corner of Silver Lake Blvd and Atwater Ave open’s their doors! Pancho is old but not that old, I found this place in 1987 stopped in for a soda and noticed at the back meat counter they also make sandwiches Hot & Cold the rest is history, though I haven’t been here in a couple years, I’ll always come back! Pancho believes Credit Cards are for suckers! I always roll with CASH… one day while I was sleeping the Wife jacked all my Benjamins and left me with a couple Washington’s(((Shakes Head))) what to do? I’m NOT feelin’ the Dollar menu at McDonalds… Vince’s! the place hasn’t changed and I hope it doesn’t at least in my lifetime! SERIOUSLY, What can you get if you’ve only got TWOBUCKS? The Famous Ham & Cheese… I’d imagine this is the #1 seller, something ALL the neighborhood kids get. Ham & Cheese($ 1.50) (((ONEDOLLAR&FIFTYCENTS))) Ham, Cheese, Lettuce, Pickles and Mayo *(this was the first sandwich I tried from Vince’s back in 1987 it was .60 or .75 Cents back then) Carnitas($ 3.95) Tell me that’s not a $ 10+ Sandwich at any other deli/sandwich spot… lot’s of delicious piggy, a little salsa, a little avocado it’s messy but worth it! Super Mexican($ 3.50) Panela Cheese, Tomato, Jalapeño, Avocado, Lettuce and Mayo((NO Meat)) but Pssst… jack some of the Carnitas from that other sandwich the person will never know and you’ll thank me later! Next time you’re thinking, Not a lot of money, Dollar Menu come hit up Vince’s Market BUT bring your CASH, NOCREDITCARDSSUCKA’S

Been going to Vince’s since I was in kindergarten! 1995 :) As a kid, ham and cheese was my fav. As a teenager to present adulthood, I love me an ITALIANDRYSALAMESUB. $ 2.95 Only thing. May not matter much, but could Get a new menu sign. Stop with the paper stick on add-ons/price changes. Much love and memories with this place!

After just recently moving around the area. I was on a search to find hidden gems. I didn’t believe the Unilocal reviews of a ham and cheese for only $ 1.50! The sandwich was good and fresh. Most of all I really like the mom and pop aspect of it. The women at the register was very nice and after over hearing a conversation she was having with a teenage girl– I am pretty sure she mentors. I’ll be back many many many times!

This review has been long overdue. I grew up in Atwater Village and have been coming here since I was a child. I still make occasional trips to Atwater just to go to Vince’s market, not that I live very far. I would come more often, but my mama buys them for me and puts them in the fridge for me(yay me… mama spoils me). These yummy ham and cheese sandwiches are delicious with their soft french bread. I would eat it every other day, if I weren’t on this stupid low carb, high protein diet… damnit! I love small mom and pop stores… they are so personable and their sandwiches, not only the ham and cheese, are sooo delicious! Support mom and pop stores like Vince’s Market… why keep giving your hard earned money to Subway, when they clearly don’t need it! =)
