(Snacked 7÷01÷12SU @ 4:30pm): One of many shops located inside the Grand Central Market, although their namesake has yogurt in it, I was going for boba! After my friend and I attended Unilocal’s Grand Summer Elite Event, we decided to roam the streets of downtown Los Angeles and got to the heart of our city of Angels. We walked into the eclectic and budget-saving Grand Central Market to feed a boba craving, and Yogurt Factory called out to us! We took the Angels Flight Railway down to the Grand Central Market and roamed among the many businesses inside in search for boba. The first store located at one end of the market was out of boba. How is that possible?! We pushed on until we noticed the bright neon sign and the display of boba drinks on top of their counter. We cautiously asked if they had boba, and with a joyful«yes» from the woman behind the counter, smiles returned to our faces with a holy glow, reminiscent of those Renaissance paintings. We order a simple large Thai ice tea boba($ 3.50). Minutes later, our craving was to be quenched. We took turns as we passed the drink back-and-forth to each other. Cold and refreshing, there was not too much ice to make us feel like we got cheated, and there was certainly more than enough boba throughout. The boba was perfect — a soft chew without a sliminess I’ve experienced in cases where I think it’s not prepared long enough. «One boba… two boba… three boba… more», as I slurped each one through the think striped straw. As I’ve always said, this was a meal in itself, so needless to say, we were both stuffed by the time the last boba went down. We had a decent meal at the Unilocal event as well as plenty of wine and mixed drinks. But when the boba craving hits, there’s no stopping it! The service was great as the woman who helped us instantly greeted us and made our drink quickly. We were the only customers at the time. Parking is ample, whether it’s on the street, garages, or lots. We parked inside the California Plaza structure for the Unilocal event, but I would recommend one of the many lots, which range between $ 5.00-$ 10.00. You can try your luck with the streets(I noticed meters but don’t know if they are in play on the weekend), but you may get frustrated. Overall, if you happen to be in the area or at the Grand Central Market and need some boba, Yogurt Factory is a great place to get some. The other products they sold also looked good, so I suggest you try them, too. I found very good value as noted by the price I quoted above(total bill was around $ 3.50 before tip). The atmosphere was like any other yogurt place you would find in malls these days, but very communal surrounded by other stands and businesses. They are located close to an entrance/exit so sufficient natural lighting. Attire is completely casual, so I was in boardshorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops. I will have to knock them a full star because they accepted only cash; therefore, they didn’t accept my credit card of choice… AMEX!

After some spicy tacos I wanted to cool my mouth down with some yogurt. They have Vanilla, Chocolate, Blueberry, and Natural. I got a mix of Blueberry and Natural but when I first pulled the handle it was a bit watery: X They sell their yogurt here for 38 cents per ounce which is a bit above the market price. Pretty smooth and not a bad taste but not really very tart. A nice snack if you’re in the market.
