Yum Yum Donuts

Best donuts i ever had. The best is the glazed with chocolate crumb cookies. Extra soft dough and out of this world. There was a line at 10pm for them. I did not like the customer service. The girl nvr smiled once and wouldn’t look at me. She was extra friendly to the male customers though. The donuts are 4 stars better then crispy creams.

Very soft 3 stars.
They are the quality of donuts you can probably get at Ralph’s or Vons bakery.
I saw some mini frosted donuts that looked good. See my pic. Not sure how they taste.
They had quite a few donuts out, but none were really fresh looking.
I won’t be back, but if you must have a donut, I guess it’s barely OK.
There are a few small tables if you want to eat there. They also have off street parking and three spaces in the lot just for Yum Yum Donuts.
I would not call their donuts «Yum Yum,» or even «Yum.» I would maybe call them, «hmmm.»

Enter the store 910 pm nobody acknowledge me and I seen two employees there finally I left after waiting 15 minutes I said goodnight I left the store very unhappy

Not much of a selection for a donut shop. Although the donuts were not bad, they were not that good. I also don’t like asking for a chocolate donut with chocolate glaze and the lady working just keeps picking up random donuts and saying «This one?»

Cool little place my first time ever going. I usually get the pastrami on a bagel with onions it’s delicious. Customer service is okay, could be better but hey it’s a donut place. Cool thing is they stay open 24 hours a day.

This place seriously has the worst service ever. My friend and I had to use the restroom we even offered to buy a dozen donuts, and he refused to let us use the restrooms. Would not recommend for a late night snack terrible service.

Yes, 5 stars. First, I love donuts. Second, when aunt flow comes to town, I will literally cut throats for said donuts. I arrived at 11pm. Most donut shops would have stale crapping offeringa. This place had tons of donuts that tasted pretty damn fresh for 11pm. I ate 6 of them. 6. I don’t continue to waste calories on crappy food

They seem to have a variety of AM food needs but I only stop in here to get donuts. They have a pretty solid variety of donuts that you can mix and match. They’re definitely more of the blue collar donut, they’re not aged in kale or whatever weird LA shit they do to donuts around here. These are the donuts you find in the lunchroom of a mill. Super quick: if you need to grab some donuts for your office or friends they’re great. Parking at the front of the store.

I am so happy that i stoped by this place to get a turkey bagel. They sure know how to make a good, tasty sandwich.
Their veriety of donuts are endless.
Customer service is great and they work super speedy, which is great because there wont be any line. I will come back soon!

This place and great and convenient for me since it’s near my work place. I usually come here for their fresh juices which are pretty good. I occasionally get a breakfast sandwich or donut on the go. The workers are always polite and friendly when I come here

While my car was being service, I went into YumYum Donuts to purchase a cup of coffee. Upon my eyes, the place was NASTY. The floor looked like it have not been mopped for a week behind the counter and in the lobby. There were food crumbs in the donut display and in the area where food is served. The cream area was a mess. Cream dripped everywhere. It makes me wonder if they have rodents or roaches. I mentioned it to the manager and he laughed. It’s not funny Mr Nasty. The other workers were sitting on their butts laughing and talking. I never been in a dirty donut establishment. Someone needs to call the health department.

I love that they have a selection of «mini» donuts. I like donuts but just a little taste… a large donut is too much. These little minis are adorable and I like my food to be cute. Of course the bright pink ones are clearly a color not found in nature, but still they’re good. I find their donuts have a little bit of a «crunch» which is my favorite part.
I do think that at times the coffee is too hot. I want to drink my coffee immediately — I need it right away! So coffee served at a scorching temp and requiring a cool down is something I don’t enjoy.
Easy parking and convenient location — relatively easy in and out. Always fast and friendly service.

Ive been coming to this yum yum prob. at least 3 times a week due to the fact that everyone working at MelroseMAC on the opposite corner loves donuts!

They sell bland, photogenic donuts but they let my 750 pound saber-​toothed dog accompany me on my near daily sugar benders, and everyone who works there is really sweet.

Someone that I work with suggested that I visit this shop instead of the Winchell’s that I’ve been frequenting for the past 7 years. So, for the past 3 – 4 weeks, I’ve been doing that. Since I’ve been doing that, I’ve noticed that when I arrive at between 5:50 and 5:55AM that there is only one person working the counter at that time. At Winchell’s there are always at least two people ready to serve customers if not three.
This morning, I arrived and there was one person in line ahead of me and there was one person behind the counter, and I saw two gentlemen in the store in addition to that. I ordered two donuts and one bagel with cream cheese. Pretty simple order, I would say. Another woman entered the store and was waiting to order after me. I walked to the register in order to pay. While I was doing that, the woman behind the counter asked the next person in line what she wanted. I was not done with my order, and I was expecting to get my bagel and leave as I needed to get to work. Instead she rang me up and then said «Thank you». I said, «Could I have my bagel?» she said «Just a minute and proceeded to ring up the woman after me in line.
The woman behind the counter then went over to the bagel station to work on my bagel. She cut it and put it in the toaster. I didn’t ask for it toasted and had already asked to have my bagel. My point here is, she was not listening to what I was asking for explicitly nor what my meaning was. She put the bagel in the toaster and I said «I don’t need it toasted», at which point she put cream cheese on it and then handed it to me. I said to her, «I appreciate your offer, but I just need to get to work.»
When I called the store to tell the woman behind the counter that her decision to wait on the woman next to me in line before finishing my order made me late to work, she said «I’m sorry, we’re trained to help people.» Then she said, «I was the only person behind the counter,» at which point I replied, «Your labor and scheduling issues are not my problem. You should have another person behind the counter with you. What about the guy who was back there with you getting a cup of coffee?» as I had noticed two gentlemen in the back of the store. She said to me, «Oh he’s a baker, he’s not allowed to ring people up.» When I asked to speak to the manager, she said, «Oh he’s not here.» When I asked what his name was and when he’d be in. the woman said that he was on vacation. Really?
What is going on there, in terms of training and customer service? This may seem like a small deal, but it underlies, I think another issue in terms of how the staff is trained, what kind of habits are instilled and expected of in employees and how the business is run. What the training is telling me is that employees are trained to make decisions and take actions based on their convenience and not for the customer’s benefit.
If this store was a family business or employees were empowered to run the business in order to serve the people who come to put money in the cash register, then it would be run in such a way that the customer was actually valued and attended to correctly.
Since starting to come to the store in order to buy donuts, I haven’t been too impressed by the effectiveness nor the efficiency of how it’s run on Saturday mornings, which is probably one of the best sales days and times of the week. How much money does it cost to attract a new customer to a store? How much does it cost to have another person behind the counter to be able to wait on paying customers who want to get in and out of there. As the size of the store and lack of table space suggests, it’s physically set up to move people in and out of there. However, it’s not run that way, or at least not from the customer’s standpoint, only the business’ own.
However much it does cost to attract a new customer to a business, consider it a loss in terms of how people are treated once we get there. Here, they’re stepping over dollars to pick up pennies.
Consider me a lost customer who will let other people know that the business and the people behind the counter at the Melrose and Higland location just don’t get it. The donuts are good, unfortunately, the training here and customer service isn’t.

I just walked in here while waiting for my pizza from Mozza across the street. It was a good donut, but the cashier looked pissy (maybe it’s just her face!) and it was empty and awkward. Plus this place is totally not close by to where I live. I’ll probably never come here again.

Just a quick stop to YUM YUM on my way to work and I have my sugar rush to get me through the first part of my day.
I stop here once in a while and I order either a chocolate donut w/​peanuts or old fashioned chocolate donuts. Thats my order everytime!
Prices are cheap and the donuts are fresh and tasty… plus their open 24hrs if any of you have those late night «munchies»!

Every once in awhile I have a craving for a good Old Fashioned Chocolate Donut. Alright. Maybe more than every once in awhile. I’ve come here a couple of times to quell that craving, and this place has delivered.
85 cents for a nice, fresh donut with plenty o’ chocolate icing. Plus, I’m a sucker for their little bags with the cute little Yum Yum logo.

Solid effort when I was hung TF over and needed donuts and coffee, stat. Was heading west on Melrose, and, thanks to the Unilocal iPhone app found this gem of a place. And it’s not quite there yet, but it has potential. The nearest Krispy Kreme to my home does not have my all-​time favorite donut, the sugar-​coated strawberry filled, but YYD sure as hell did.
The first one I had was outstanding. The other two the lady grabbed had failed to be filled with, uh, filling. Disappointing, but I wasn’t hungry anymore– so it did the job. The coffee was decent, and I usually take it black, but I was in a hurry so looked for the half and half to cool it down. Dispenser was empty. Hmm. And in checking out of my hotel earlier I had stuffed some leftover In-​N-​Out napkins in my pocket and miraculously kept them there so the lack of napkins in plain view here was negligible. Day saved.
Let’s review: Fix the little things. Keep the coffee additives stocked. Napkins, possiblymaybe. And make sure you’re filling those «filled donuts.» Besides that, the prices are great and the cashier friendly. You’ve got your work cut out for you, Yum Yum, and I can’t wait to see how you’ve improved the next time. And also coming to my town would be an improvement. For my life.

Thanks to this spot, I was only about 80% hungover this morning after our adventures last night. Nothing like a chocolate covered old fashioned bar to soak up the bourbon. Yes.
