Hmmmm… What to say about Justin DeSantis… First let me say something about myself. I’m in my early 50s (barely!), have never owned my own home, and I was tasked with having to sell our 5BR/2.5BA family home of 45 years in the highly rated Lynbrook area for my 81yo mother. Neither of us had ever transacted any real estate deal in our lives.
I spent six months in 2014 evaluating four realtors, because I figured «I had exactly one opportunity to ‘get this right.’» The other four realtors each worked for a real estate brokerage that starts with an «I,» but I don’t recall its name.
THE REASON Justin earned our business was that he expressed multiple IDEAS for HOW to market our home, while the other three realtors only gave us blank stares. Our house was in very poor shape, and we had three households worth of stuff cluttering it up.
Justin originally said, «Let’s list it ‘as is’ by March 1 at $ 1.5M.» It is a very crazy market in our neighborhood. Then it took six weeks for us to get moved out. There were some unavoidable issues that needed to be addressed by a contractor, and Justin has connection to contractors for just these scenarios. Our original quote for our «unavoidable issues» was $ 34K.
Once we finally got out of the way, the contractors got started. Our March 1 listing date was pushed to about the third week of March (it took a solid month to move), but then the market in the neighborhood SKYROCKETED.
Based on a couple of homes that sold for all cash at $ 300K+ over their listing prices, Justin asked me to consider a complete remodel. I asked the contractor what our cost would be, and we were looking at an increase from $ 35K to $ 125K in contracting fees. Justin assured me that we would recoup all of that, if not 2 – 3 times what we put into it.
We had planned to put the home on the market at $ 1.55-$ 1.6M, hoping for $ 1.8M. Instead, we listed it at $ 1.849M and received an acceptable offer of $ 1.965M within five days of our open house.
This was an educational process for both me and my mom. Thank you for your unending reassurance, Justin. We could not have done this without your guidance!

Justin helped me sell my home in the West San Jose area in 2009, and I am so pleased I chose him. He provided excellent service from start to finish — the house was beautifully staged, the marketing brochures were perfect, and his preparations for listing the property were prompt and thorough. The home was listed for 1 week, with 1 open house, and sold with multiple offers above the list price. Because this was in 2009 when the market was down, my expectations were much lower than what he was able to fetch for the property!

My wife and I were lucky enough to work with Justin this last year (2013). We actually met Justin at an open house he was putting on in Los Gatos. He was generous enough to entertain many many questions we had. We found him very thorough, very personable, and above all honest. Not long after we asked him to represent us in finding a house.
I won’t bore anyone with the gory details, but it is Silicon Valley and buying a house here can be arduous. I have to give Justin all the credit in finding us our home. He was sensitive to our bewilderment through this process, providing a very positive reinforcement that helped us to not get too caught up in the negatives of this process. Justin is everything you’d want in a realtor. When it came time for us to find a new home in the area, a friend recommended Justin to us. He took the time to explain the process to us, and listened carefully to what we were looking for. As we searched for the right home that was in our budget, he was patient and kind – driving us all over the south bay looking at house after house. When we became discouraged, thinking that we’d never find our perfect house, Justin gave us encouragement and support. He never stopped trying to find exactly what we were looking for.
Then, one day, he called us to tell us that one we had been «eyeing» had just opened up. He got us in early (before the open house) and helped us see the potential in the home. It was perfect for our family. Justin knew how much we liked it and that others might be interested as well. He used his business savvy and his charm to get our offer in front of the seller first – and they accepted it!
As often they can be, the closing process presented some challenges, but Justin handled them with grace and professionalism, always representing our best interests. We navigated some pretty unique circumstances during closing, but eventually we got our keys. Our family has been in the home for over five years now, and love it more each day. None of it could have happened without Justin.
And to top off his skills as a realtor, he’s the nicest guy. He even came to our housewarming party. Thank you, Justin!
