Here’s why:
I basically gave him no direction on what to do. Every time he asked me a question, I literally said «something like this but really it’s your choice — I’m down for whatever.» He read my mind and gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had. I have naturally curly hair and any curly head will tell you that stylists either cut way too much or cut way too little. Jeremy gave me the dramatic cut I was looking for while preserving the overall length of my hair. He added so much volume, I loved it!
And oooOOOooo the scalp massage ~ !

Such a quiant, relaxing place to unwind, enjoy a glass of wine and look fabulous! Because their stylists are AWESOME! Thank you!

Tiffany recently cut and colored my hair. My hair was very long and I wanted to change it up a bit. Tiffany offered many suggestions and recommended a long bob with some layering so I can curl my hair. It turned out better than I can imagine!

Five years later and Nirvana with Jessica Regalado is still my salon of choice! The only difference is that now I take advantage of «me time» with a glass of wine while being pampered;)

(Tl;dr below.) After a few failed haircuts in the Bay Area (and about six months since my last cut), I started looking at Living Social deals, and came across a deal for this place. I ended up not getting that deal, but decided to give this place a try based on the Unilocal!reviews. The deal was only for junior stylists, and I opted for one of the more experienced stylists, Laura Miceli, given that I have thick hair with a natural wave, and I generally hate taking time to style my hair at home. I am so glad I did. I showed her a picture of a previous cut I had that I liked, and she worked with my lack of at-​home styling and gave me a perfect cut. Not only that, but she was very friendly, and let me come in late since I had to go back to work to get my purse. And she let me use their first visit coupon, even though I didn’t have the printout with me. She had great suggestions for product use that would help keep the frizz down in my hair, and explained how best to use each of them with my hair.
Another thing to note is the atmosphere, which is very calming for a salon. They use aromatherapy and the place smells great (not like the usual chemically smell you get at a lot of salons). Also, the wash basins are far more comfortable than the usual black bin ones, and promote a better posture for the stylists when they’re washing/​conditioning hair.
I’ve had SO many compliments on my haircut from everyone, which is really a compliment for Laura Miceli’s ability. I have finally found my «forever» stylist in the Bay Area, and I already made my next appointment.
Tl;dr: Give this place a try. Client comfort ranks high, they are super friendly and accommodating, and definitely worth the little bit extra in cost. Also, Laura Miceli is an amazing stylist!

Love this place! The entrance is around back, facing the parking lot. Nirvana uses all Aveda products so I always leave with my hair feeling healthy. They also go out of their way to pamper you. I always get my choice of aromatherapy to enjoy during my hair wash. First time guests get a complimentary sensory experience. I chose a hand scrub and massage.
Eileen is amazing! She does a terrific job of getting my hair to look amazing while still natural. I really love the way she does multiple colors to make everything look so natural. I also love the haircut options.

If you are looking for quality and care at an affordable place– this is where you want to be. I just recently started coming to Nirvana as I will not negotiate the quality of products that to in my hair. Nirvana is an Aveda salon and really provides amazing service.
I went to see Nicole, and she took my dead red hair and took me to an amazing dark brown base and added the most beautiful blond high lights. She was honest in her consultation and did not over promise and under deliver. She told me she’d do her best to get me what I wanted but really set a realistic expectation. I loved it.
Vanessa worked with me to make sure I was checked in, and was taken care of. Loved my experience here and so happy to have found my new salon.

I had the pleasure of having Jeremy cut my hair. He did a great job and was attentive to detail. There were no surprises as he had explained his plans for my hair. Loved the scalp massage and botanical hair treatment!

I go here often and really like it but just got charged for a treatment I did not ask for and would not have gotten. Make sure you know what they are spraying in your hair and how much it will be when it happens-​otherwise you will be disappointed and a bit shocked like me. The products are great and they do a great job.

Just got a haircut with my Living Social coupon and it was amazing. Just wish the location was a BIT easier to find.
I was super late because I was lost but they called me and guided me over! It is across from Dolce Spazio and you walk down the alleyway when you see Trends Salon and it’s on your right. Feels sort of like a yogic garden. It is definitely boutique and small but still an Aveda salon filled with wonderful aromatic oils. Rhitany was great and listened to what I wanted, which wasn’t much since I just wanted a couple layers and a slight trim. I got nice scalp massage with oils, a shampoo and conditioning spray, a hand massage, and a hair cut which she took her time with even though I was late.
I would definitely come back for their junior stylists, I hate cutting my hair and can’t justify spending that much for something I won’t upkeep.

I was a first timer — Kelly Biles did a great job on my hair… Got a hair shape consult, scalp massage, shampoo, neck massage. My hair looks fantastic again! (it was sadly neglected).
It is a small (hole in the wall) place and I brought my kids — they were very tolerant and my kids did behave surprisingly well… even though the 21 month old spilled the cards everywhere. Would definitely come back!

I was surprised at how cramped the salon is (kind of a hole in the wall) Usually Aveda Salons feel more luxurious. No comfortable waiting area (a single 2′ bench to the right of the door), and people need to squeeze by you to go back and forth to the restroom. It took 15 minutes before someone offered me tea or water. The mood of the reception staff is cold and a little e snobbish. Overall, the place felt low budget.
The hairdresser I met with was very friendly and listened to me, but she was not the one who did my treatment — she instructed her staff on what to mix, and apply to clients — she didn’t do anything except talk to me about what she advised. The young girl who did my Elixir Rx — did not have the touch — just kind of a joke — like I was waiting for her to finish — overall not comfortable or relaxing — a waste of time.
I felt very uncomfortable with an apprentices hovering over the appointment.
I’ve been to Di Pietro Todd, and stopped going there because there are 3 different assistants on your hair throughout and it just doesn’t feel personable. This place seems to be the same hierarchy feel — I don’t like assembly line hair salons, I want to have a relationship with my hairdresser. At least Di Pietro Todd is a nice atmosphere to relax in.
I also did not like that they can only use Aveda Color, which tends to go towards orange or brassy on blonds. I think the best hair dressers will go for the brand that works best for each individual. Rarely does one product line have the best products in every category, e.g. Aveda may have some great aromatherapy products, and oils, but not the best at every product. It is like Tahari and CK branching out into shoes — Just stick to what you’re best at — designing clothing.
I was sadly disappointed in atmosphere the hierarchical process here. Onward…

It had been over 2 years since I had gotten my haircut and even longer since I have had it colored. I was so nervous coming into Nirvana because I am very afraid of change. Cristi was so welcoming, friendly, honest, and soooo nice. She made me feel so comfortable and welcome. She listened to what I wanted and delivered exactly what I was envisioned for my hair. She checked one a lot through the entire process and made sure I was comfortable. It really helped me feel at ease and I am so happy with my hair! I now know I have a regular stylist and salon I can now go to! Thank you again Cristi!

I started coming to this salon a little over a year ago, and I have not strayed away since. I always see Kelly, who is also the salon manager. She is great and really makes sure that she is doing what I want and what is best for my hair type when she cuts my hair.
I originally came to this salon because all of their products are vegan, but I stay because of the great service that I have had. It is right in downtown Los Gatos and it is small and lovely on the inside. I love that you get a essential oil scalp massage when you get your hair washed, I always pick the lavender oil. I also love the Aveda tea, it is my favorite and I have even purchased a pack of the loose leaves to take home.
Everything smells so wonderful and the service is great. There are always numerous girls at the counter or working as apprentices, so there is always good customer service, whether that be to sweep the hair, shampoo your head or get you a drink.
I love this place and will continue to return.

I’ve been seeing Laura Victorson every month for the past few years. That’s a lot of time to invest in a relationship and probably more than I do with some family and friends. That says a lot about why I keep coming back. She knows what I like and I trust her to keep my style simple enough for a lazy person like me to maintain but modern enough to keep up with the times. I also LOVE that it’s a green certified salon so it eases my guilt of chemical use. And the online appointment booking is handy when you need to change dates & times but it’s still best to book ahead of time (at time of last appt if you end up being a regular) as weekends especially book up fast. Great staff service all around too!
