Came here on a Saturday evening with some girlfriends and sat down at the high tops by the bar. Waited 20 minutes for service — even flagged a waiter down who said he would get someone to help us… But surprise surprise we ended up walking out after receiving zero service and down the street to Rootstock and was actually able to ORDER a couple of bottles. Don’t think my expectations are that high, but wow we were able to finally order… Rootstock for the win…

My family took me here for my 21^st birthday and I enjoyed the ambiance (a big factor for me in enjoying restaurants) as well as the food! I’d recommend outside seating if possible — especially on a sunny day like ours!
The seared ahi was amazing and surprisingly filling. I tried some of my sister’s veggie pasta which was good as well. Thank you for the birthday churros & ice cream!

Years ago I dined here. My friend wanted to try it again for her belated birthday dinner. What a mistake. Our server was great, cocktails were great,
this is what wasn’t:
1. Table of 7 completely obnoxious and drunk women — laughing — yelling at each other. Everyone kept looking at them. The manager did nothing. One table had to move to try and get away from the noise. It was too windy outside or we would have moved as well. Not a burger joint ladies.
2. Order wine. Server tells us he is out of that brand. Okay.
3. Order different wine — oh yeah — out of that too. Okay…
4. Manager comes over and tells us if we like Rombauer (which is $ 80 a bottle? Come on — that is $ 20 more than the majority of the restaurants in the Bay Area) we will like blah blah wine. We ask can we try it? No. None open. I say «If we don’t like it can we try something else?» He replies «No, that’s not how it works.»
Apparently either does customer service.
Food was decent — nothing to brag about.
As a former server and restaurant manager (13 years in the industry), I was beyond disappointed. Never going back. And get a new manager — one with a spine.

My fiancé and I came to the Palacio for a rehearsal dinner tasting to figure out if we liked the place. Turns out that this place is a gem of a restaurant! Every single dish we ordered was absolutely fantastic! The guacamole, squash soup, filet mignon, sea bass, Caesar salad, Brussel sprouts, and roasted chicken were all a welcome delight to the palette. I couldn’t help but close my eyes to savor every bite. I highly recommend having dinner here! You won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I have walked by here a dozen times thinking, «that looks a fun place to eat!» Finally got the chance to enjoy their brunch last weekend and I’m happy to report that it lived up to expectations. Great drinks, wonderful food, and a lovely atmosphere on the patio. I highly recommend the huevos rancheros. My wife reports that the French toast is the right combination of firm and sweet, not soggy and weighed down. The guacamole appetizer was delightful, and what we didn’t finish paired excellently with my huevos. Great place to enjoy a good meal with great company.

Great experience! We went for happy hour and sat at the bar, the waitress Alyssa was amazing. She recommended great drinks and made them to our taste. The food was great, we will defiantly be back.

A week before our wedding anniversary, I look for romantic fine dining restaurant and I found Palacio. I checked the website and I was astonished, the house, the restaurant inside and outside, the foods, cocktail drinks, wine selections and the location. As soon as I see all the pictures I reserved for 2 for dinner at 7pm in opentable. A day (5.17.16) before our dinner I called to confirmed and tell them that we’re gonna be 3, our 17 months old son. The hostess said «are you gonna need a high chair for him?» I said «yes, please». Since it’s our anniversary I asked a favor if they can make a special for us like a cake with a happy anniversary just to surprise my wife. The hostess said «yes, definitely sir, we can make that for you». May 18, 2016, my wife and I are so excited to this restaurant to have something new experience in a old house turn into restaurant that build in 1880’s. As we get into the hostess stand, the restaurant is loud. I didn’t know that they have an open bar close to the entrance and the dining area (It was a warriors game). The bar was busy because of the game and at the patio too but the dining area was not busy, only 2 tables including us. As soon as the hostess sat us in a party of 4 table with a full set up and bring a high chair for our son. She said «the server will be right with you». 15 min after the server came, he introduced his self and welcome us. He started to asked for a drinks and tell something about the menu. I ordered watermelon margarita that is so good in the picture in Unilocal.The server came back and tell me that it’s not in the menu anymore but the bartender will try to make it. I said «ok», along with our drinks I ordered the calamari. The calamari served before my margarita, the calamari looks different from the picture. I’m not happy how it looks and taste, its overcooked and hard. When the manager walking by I asked him «sir, is this how it cooked your calamari?, it’s overcooked and hard» he get it and replace a new one. I got my margarita 15min after, I was excited how it taste. I’m not happy again, very strong and sour. I didn’t tell them but I asked for brown sugar to fix it myself. My wife is happy with her Shirley temple as my son is happy with his coloring. Now, here comes our entrée. I had the bone-​in porterhouse and my wife had the paella. Mine was ok but a little smokey that I can taste it. After our entrée, the server came to offer a dessert. It seems like we don’t have the surprise cake for our anniversary. So, I asked the server if he can me a favor to give us something special for dessert because it’s our anniversary and told him that I called if they can and they say yes. The server said «I’m sorry sir, we don’t know about this and I believe the hostess that answered the phone was a trainee and it’s her first day in the floor today». The server make it up for us and make the cake with a happy anniversary on it. Our experience didn’t meet our expectations. A lot of mistakes.

Over priced, food used to be better. Found out they change chefs or something. Salsa used to be amazing now it’s mediocre. The only thing appealing about this place is its location. Many restaurants have come threw this place but nothing sticks. I wouldn’t imagine this place will last since its head down in food quality and service.

Service was great, food was great, definitely coming back here! Fish tacos were yummy, just the right portion for just two tacos. Also, take advantage of the «check in» via Unilocal to get the free avocado starter– chips were delicious and not like the usual triangle kind :) Churros were also quite yummy with the Mexican chocolate ice cream. You only get 4 bite size ones but after an entrée you only have room for 4 and not a full size one.

Came here tonight for the first time, and it was AMAZING. Our server Armardillo had excellent, fun service! He recommended the Crispy chicken plate, sea bass plate, and paella to us and we all loved every single bite we had of our delicious dinner. We ended our amazing meal with a churro desert and it was super tasty! Also their sangria tasted soooo good. I can’t wait to be back here again!

Corkage is only $ 20 here, so we brought two bottles, but they have a great wine list, with reasonable prices (Get the Hendry Primitivo… very good).
I had the lamb special, and it was cooked perfectly with a really tasty mash. My wife had the tacos that came with Bacon (yes please).
For dessert… CHURROS FILLED WITH CHOCOLATE. so good.
Some of the cocktails are a little pricey at $ 15, and our gin and tonics we had were not good, a little weak.
Great ambiance, as they have a lot of outside seating. Will be back!

Today’s lunch/​drinks and service were excellent. We ordered the guac+tostadas, mary’s chicken sandwich and fish tacos.
Will definitely visit again the next time we are in the area.

Very good for a large group of 27. Sea bass is very nice a little too much topping. All the prawn and chicken apps were tasty, and as well the chicken soup was a bit complicated.

We were in town to see Jill Scott at Mountain Winery, happened upon Palacio while exploring the town.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Latin cuisine and hospitality. The fish tacos were flavorful and filling. The cocktails, graciously suggested by our waiter, Jass, were excellent choices, we had to have a 2^nd round. Jass expertly served our table and his many other patrons, he was personable and available to us as needed, but not intrusive.

With so many different restaurants in the Los Gatos area to choose from Palacios does stand out. A grand Old house, some say it was a mortuary in the past? Well in any case. We came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Summer time it seem just fitting to have our lunch outside on the terrace area. We where promptly seated our server was very attentive.
We had three at our table my daughter order the duck tacos. Great presentation and she said the meal was very good tasty. My father wanted a salad with large Prawns on it. So we combined 2 dish in one. I had the same. I was extremely happy with my salad. The Prawns where huge.
Of course check in on Unilocal app. You get a free Guacamole appetizer. Price wise it was a bit costly. But it might have been because we added on the prawns dishes. I will come with to try the indoor dinner. very soon.

Happy hour here is superb! Probably the best I have had in Los Gatos. And they extend it 7 days a week.
Food is good and inexpensive. The sopracitos are perfection and and the quesadilla was good too.
I had the cocktail of the day — Kentucky mule. I thoroughly enjoyed it, since it was a Sunday it wasn’t overly crowded. Aside from our waiter forgetting to bring our check — I really enjoyed my experience.
If you come — get the SOPRACITOS!!!

From the outside, this place looks like a beautifully lit up house when you walk up from the street. We had the last reservation at 9:45pm and the outdoor seating with the hanging bulb lights made for a festive and romantic atmosphere.
The inside of the restaurant was equally impressive as we were seated right next to the windows that faced the outdoor patio. We were greeted warmly by our server Jasminka who was quick to make sure that our first time dining experience here was going to be a memorable one. I didn’t want to rely on Unilocal for any menu suggestions. I wanted to trust her for every dish we were going to enjoy for the night.
Between both Jasminka and our very talented bartender Allen, I’m ecstatic to report that every dish and drink recommendation was spot on. Both my date and I were saying, «Mmmmm, this is SO good.» while eating/​drinking all of it. Here we go:
*Guacamole with chips (free with check in offer): This ain’t your ordinary guacamole folks. It’s got roasted garlic, Queso fresco, Pico de gallo and Serrano peppers. And the chips were huge– like fried tortilla rounds you would use in street tacos only in red, blue and tan. And the Pico de gallo? It was so good that Jasminka was kind enough to pack extra for me to go.
*Prawns Diabla $ 11: Garlic & Parlsey marinated grilled prawns, Pickled onions, Habanero Diablo Sauce, Cilantro oil– Hot (as in spicy), fresh and so tasty that the whole plate was gone within minutes. When it came down to the last one, my date and I couldn’t decide who would get to have it.
*Hawaiian Ahi Poke $ 10: Avocado, Bell Peppers, Cucumbers, Sesame Seeds, Onions, Cilantro, Green Onions, Ponzu Sauce– You know Poke is done right when you take the first bite and the fresh poke is what stands out the most. The extra seasonings are just icing on the cake. Winner.
*Seafood Paella $ 25: Saffron Rice, Chorizo, Chicken, Prawns, Mussels, Clams, Peas, Bell Peppers, Onions and Lemon– Ohh Ehhmmm GEEE. Jasminka told us that this would be good but I was not prepared. I’ve never tasted Paella quite like this (a trip to Spain might be in order). I won’t say any more except that you *must* come here and order this.
*Blackberry Margarita: I saved this for last because if you know me at all, you know that I don’t drink. I was convinced by my date to try this and when I took a sip, it *almost* had me wanting to drink the entire thing. There are fresh blackberries floating on top and thanks to Allen (our bartender), we had to order two. It was slightly sweet and slightly tangy with just the right amount of tequila to give it that kick. My date loved this and declared it the best tasting margarita he’s ever had. Thank you Allen!
Reservations are recommended here and if you’re looking for a date night spot, don’t hesitate. Come. Sit. Request for Jasminka to be your server and *enjoy*.

Came here for brunch after walking through Vasona Park. Since it accommodated my friend’s dog on the large outdoor patio, it was perfect for us. There were only 3 other parties, but service was slow. I had to walk in and call out to let them know I had reservations, and they seated us. I’m not sure why, but Open Table shows me they cancelled my reservation, so now I need to call to get my points that should be credited.
From start to finish, service was painfully slow here. I ordered a mimosa, and it wasn’t strong at all. They offer unlimited mimosas for $ 15. My two friends ordered the traditional breakfast for $ 10, which consisted of tater tots (random, but YUM), eggs and bacon. Bacon was good, but for two easy breakfast dishes, this took forever and a day. I ordered the free Unilocal check in offer of guacamole, and it was really delicious (maybe just a pinch of salt would’ve made it perfect) and blue, red, and yellow tortilla chips. Very good especially for being free. I had the huevos rancheros, which used the same large tortilla chips instead of soft tortilla. Black beans, chorizo, and potato hash was good.
We noticed a gentleman that brought his small dog with him eating off of the restaurant’s plate, which I thought was rude, especially since another diner will get that plate in the near future. It would’ve been nice if the staff had let him know that’s not right to do.
Overall, the food here is decent, but they really need to speed up their service, especially when there are not as many diners.

I so wanted to give Palacio 5 stars but was just so disappointed by the service we received. My boyfriend and I came here with friends this past Saturday and had reservations for the outdoor area. We were seated promptly with menus but the only problem was we were given brunch menus rather than dinner menus. It took us a solid 10 minutes to get a hold of our waiter just to change out the menus. This was just the start of the slow service.
In terms of food I was more or less satisfied, all the flavors were spot on however I ordered my filet mignon medium and it came very, very, very well done. Like, hockey puck style well done. So I let our waiter know, he apologized, and brought out another steak promptly. The only problem? Now it was extremely under cooked. Like still mooing, purple (not red, actually purple) in the middle. I was really hungry by this time and the rest of my group was almost finished with their meal so I opted to eat the edges around the underdone parts. I do have to say the flavor of the steak was excellent, as were the mashed potatoes.
Drinks were also good, I got a blackberry margarita but it was extremely frustrating having to pick out blackberry seeds with every sip.
Overall I think Palacio has a few issues with service and food execution that are hindering it from being a truly great restaurant.

This is about the nicest place in downtown Los Gatos to sit down outside and enjoy a meal. You should probably get reservations for weekend evenings, as it gets pretty busy. There’s no parking lot, so the easiest thing to do is park behind the businesses across the street in that big lot, and just cross the street to Palacio. I don’t recommend trying to park at J. Crew or the bank, you might get towed.
For dinner my husband ordered the puebla filet mignon and I ordered the shredded short ribs/​ropa vieja. We checked in on Unilocal and got the free guacamole, which was awesome. They do have a kid’s menu, and our son ordered the kid’s quesadilla.
I was really impressed with the different flavors in my dish, and the way they all complimented each other so nicely. I thought my husband’s filet mignon looked pretty overcooked for «medium rare», but he said he didn’t mind at all, and it was delicious. My son didn’t like the quesadilla because it didn’t come with sour cream, but he’s picky and it wasn’t really the restaurant’s fault.
For dessert we ordered the churros to share. I thought they were delicious, though you should watch out for the liquid caramel inside — it’s hot! The cinnamon ice cream was a perfect compliment.
Overall it was a very pleasant evening and a nice experience.
