Perfect Pet Resort

This place is awful. Sent my dog here for a week so I could go on vacation, he comes back with rashes where a collar would be which leads me to believe he was choked or not taken care of properly. He also has a kennel cough that they failed to tell us when he was picked up. They didn’t offer a refund or anything. Safe to say we will not be returning.

Let me start off by saying we have a Rottweiler. Mostly every establishment turns us away or makes us feel like we have a killer dog and they need to keep him separated from other boarding guest for «safety reasons». Not this place. His first stay here was a three day stay and I called twice to check on him and they assured me that he was fine and making new friends. I thought it was all talk until we went to pick him up. He was so happy and running around like a puppy again. They also gave him a good bath. We love this resort and it will be his vacation when he can’t go with us on ours.
To the resort, just in case they check in on what customers think, thank you for making our time away from Chuck easier and for making his stay there a little vacation from us lol.

Management is all about controlling the customers and the information they receive here. The owner designed the place where customers can only come into a central place with a reception desk. You cant see anything past that in the building. They wont let you see the back where the animals are kept, except for your first tour to sell the place and even then you cant really see full the layout of the cages that they keep them in. You will never know/​see which cage/​location your dog will be put in. My dog stayed once and came back with a lip infection. The only thing they advertise and have proudly in the front for all to see is one large «nicer» room with a centralized TV for their upgraded dogs — think it holds about 8 max in separate larger sized kennels. The on-​site trainer man has a weird vibe and comes across as not liking dogs — no emotion at all. The GM is man who makes sure customers dont ask too many questions and that the answers they get are coined or come directly from him. The place is definitely not an open book and for a pet boarding facility, there should be nothing to hide ever. If you are not allowed to even see exactly where your dog will be staying, one has to wonder. The one good thing was that the only time my dog stayed there, he had the best exit bath/​grooming he ever had.

My usual kennel was booked for the weekend I needed boarding for my dog, so I scheduled with PP. Considering the cost was $ 44 per day, I assumed it would be worth it. I was wrong. The staff couldn’t have been more disorganized. You would think they’d want to make a good impression on someone visiting for the first time. They weren’t terribly busy either so that can’t be an excuse. While I was waiting for them to bring our dog, I watched a staff member taking two standard Manchester terriers back and one’s paw got stuck in the door. The poor thing cried out but the staff just tried to walk it off like nothing happened. They also forgot to give me back my dog’s stuffed dragon toy and my pink carrying bag that I use for all her overnights. I’m highly unimpressed with this place and will continue to use beechnut kennels as I’ve never been disappointed by them. Usually they say, you get what you pay for, but in this case… it’s just an overpriced pain the ass.

This place is the best! It really is perfect. I’ve done training here, boarding, Everything. This is the only place I trust with my dog (who is an 85 lbs HANDFUL) and if you’ll believe it they are on the cheaper end of the boarding facilities that I’ve considered. The owner is awesome and all the staff know what they are doing. They all seem very professional. They team your dog up with dogs with the same energy level for play time. And I do the bath add on every time. And they are great with my dog who can be a little mouthy when he’s getting bathed.

We boarded our dog, Millie, at the Perfect Pet Restort since my wife and I were out of town on business. Our dog is a «senior» dog and we felt very comfortable leaving her at this boarding facility. Our dog became ill a few days after we left her and I was not going to be able to pick her up during normal business hours. The owner was exceptionally accomodating by meeting me at the kennel at almost midnight to pick up Millie. She could have just as easliy told me to come the following morning to pick her up but she was concerned for our dog and knew the best place for her was at home. I recommend Perfect Pet Resort to all pet owners. The owner and her staff are very dedicated and professional. Rich S.

We’ve used this place a number of times for our Border Terrier. She always seemed to enjoy herself and seemed pleased to arrive. The people are very nice.

If you have the money and want your pet to stay someplace they will be happy with staying in while you are away or on vacation, etc, then this is the place for you. This isn’t the run down motel you stay at when you go to the beach, its the good hotel you stay in and enjoy the indoor pool, hot tub, restaurant, and room. So if you want to just put your pet in a kennel when you go on your out of state vacation, this isn’t the place for you.
Friendly great place for pets, a place that takes care of them, has fun doing it, and has plenty of staff to handle the job. My boss lives right down the street and they are a staple of his pet handling needs when he goes out of town with the family. Of course he makes enough money to do it, where as a regular Joe like myself wouldn’t use such a place way out of my price range. But again, if you have the cash and want your pets taken care of very well, this is the place for you.

We, mainly Brutus, love it. It is conveniently located just off the highway. The staff is plentiful, professional, caring and kind. They give him alot of playtime and the dogs are always in a playful manner. I almost feel that Brutus is better cared for there than at home however as you can see in the picture I think he gets better naps at home.

My golden goes to the Perfect Pet Resort two times each week. I love that I can pre-​pay for daycare so that drop off and pick up is seamless. The staff is wonderful… friendly to pet and pet owner. Soothing music keeps the dogs calmed after playtime. Anxiety or stress is a non-​issue. I feel so good that Bella looks forward to coming here each week.

Perfect Pet Resort is pricey but my dog loves it. The first time he stayed, I had to practically pry him away and that’s always a good sign. If he’s happy and healthy when I pick him up, then I’M happy. So far so good!

This place really is as good as it gets! These people love animals, and they will take care of your dog as if it’s their own. Every time Max goes there he loves it! He goes on Nature walks… Has extra play time, and he love his baths they give him. He sometimes get dry skin but that baths they give him clears it right up! The staff is very professional and make you feel at ease when leaving your furry companion with them for a few days.

I don’t normally take the time to post reviews for local services but knowing how difficult it can be to find a good pet boarding/​kennel facility, I wanted to post this for the benefit of all dog/​pet owners in the DC area. I checked my dog into Perfect Pet Resort (they don’t like being called a kennel) for 8 days this winter. I’ve tried several boarding facilities in the DC/​VA/​MD area and this impressed me by far more than any others. It was secluded enough to be quiet, had incredibly clean facilities, including the dog and cat quarters/​rooms and play areas. The cats were able to roam freely at times within a large area. There were larger suites for dogs that included couches, pillows and a lot of space. Surprisingly, the interior of the resort was rather calm/​relaxed which is usually not the case in a kennel. The pet cages which are in plain view from the front desk are actually not cages at all but glass-​front sizable spaces (even for small dogs). The grounds are well manicured and play areas a good size. The staff were very friendly and responsive to my calls before and during the week my dog was with them. When I picked my dog up, she was as happy to be up front and play with the staff, particularly the manager, as she was to see me. She usually just bolts to the front door. Based on what I saw, I highly recommend the resort.

Perfect Pet is amazing. My dog gets to go here once/​week for doggie day care and can’t get enough. It’s like going to the dog park, only better! The staff is professional and courteous, the facility is spotless, the landscaping is well tended to, and most importantly, my dog LOVES it!

This is da best!!! They have dog a massages, nature walks, play time, a room with a view, bath, etc… the are very clean and friendly… u def dont have to worry bout ur dog being stuff n a nasty cage with no light and no personal contact for week…
that place is great!!! 5 stars and my dog loves it there!!! he jumps and waggs his tail every time we get there!!!
