«Our food will always be prepared right and served fresh using only the finest meats, cheeses, and produce. We pride ourselves on fast and friendly service by only the two owners. No employees to ruin our 10 year reputation for being the best food in the Coloma/​Lotus area. We are located inside the Riverside Minimart/​Chevron gas station and our food is for take out only. Feel free to use our picnic area under the giant oak tree or we will tell you where the best spots are to have a picnic by the river. When the grill is open (10 – 3 M, T, W, & 10−7PM on Thursday & Friday) you can get the best burger or philly style cheesesteak or we have vegetarian and salads and sandwiches too.

History

Established in 2005.

Gourmet catering requires a commercial kitchen, and our son wanted to serve the best philly’s ever made, so we built our kitchen to maximize space and minimize wasted steps. Mom and wife have taken over and they enjoy serving the community with great food and wholesome advice about everything from family to fun. Come in and order off our extensive menu or grab a fresh made salad or sandwich from the self service deli case. Be sure to pay the cashier so they can pay us for all our hard work and homestyle cooking. The doors open at 6 AM and close at 9 PM so if you are hungry and like good fresh food at a fair price, come into the Take a Bite Deli located inside the Chevron Station. Cold beer, soda, ice, chips, and more are also available!

Business Owner

Martine owned and operated the Coloma Deli (now Rivershack) for years before selling the place because it «serves alcohol and requires many employees to clean up after the customers». Now it is strictly take out and we do not care how drunk you get!

This is a Deli «without a key» inside the Chevron Station and the landlord cleans up the property including the bathrooms. We arrive and prep the fresh food at 10 am and get home to our families right after they get out of school. But not before loading up the self serve deli case so that you can get our fresh food any time the store is open. We love to make and serve delicious food and we love to hear your appreciation for how good it is!
