It’s a bridge. You drive across it and it get you from point A to point B… It serves it’s purpose well.

It was really cool to have the opportunity to walk the newly completed bridge… something you hope you’ll never have to do again, because that would mean massive car troubles… Got my medallion and waited and waited and waited for the big wigs to get there and speech-ify…but they were running like an hour late. Our group had other responsibilities… so we walked as much as we were allowed at that point, saw it all up close and personal and peaced out. Still…when would you ever get a chance like that again. Historic. Cool. And now you can check in at the bridge :-P

As much as I wanted the 8664 project to become a reality, I can’t deny that this bridge is a nice addition to the downtown area. I don’t think this bridge will alleviate all the downtown traffic problems like they hope, but we’ll see. It does look odd to have this fancy bridge next to the old and outdated Kennedy. I wish they’d just tear down the Kennedy and build a new one there. That’s wishful thinking though. I’m glad they opened this bridge up for the public to explore before traffic takes it over. It’s a shame that pedestrians won’t be allowed on this bridge because it’s awesome! I’m glad that so many people came out today to see this bridge. With the cold weather, I didn’t expect a crowd! I was majorly wrong. People were everywhere! Great way to spend a Saturday morning!
