I love this store and prefer it over Preston Art Supply for not only its location but for the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Yes, some of the prices are steep but it’s the experience people, the experience!

I have always loved this store. The staff is always friendly and knowledgable and they have art supplies that are hard to find. The best part is they are having a huge sale today on paint, brushes, etc!

This place is awesome. Great supplies, awesome set-up, and helpful staff. Glad to see an art store that has people who know art working there and are genuinely interested in your projects and helping you find the things you want or need. They also have a couple of parking spaces reserved for customers which is nice and sure beats street parking. I will definitely be back!

One if the best art stores I’ve been to. I know that it’s a chain, but it is not a large chain and furthermore it’s run like a mom & pop. The service is great, and if they don’t have something, see if they can’t look in to special-ordering that item. Kooky parking lot, but that just adds to the charm. Fun stuff for kids too, a lot like what Lynn’s Paradise Café used to sell in their shop. Also, the prices are very reasonable.

They are like the TARDIS. Bigger on the inside!(Mention this to them when you go in… they love it!) I was ecstatic to find an art supply store in the Highlands/Germantown area and well within walking distance for me. The entrance is set a bit back from the street, allowing for a small parking lot, but it was a little bit confusing to find at first. But once inside, it’s a magical crafty-artsy wonderland! Well-organized and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices felt a little steep, but I am also not super well-versed in art supply prices(me = über amateur…) But in this case, the spray paint I got was much easier to use. As in… it was easier to spray and did a better job coating than other brands I had used from other stores and my fingers didn’t feel like breaking off when I had finished. Indicates better quality/ease of use to me! I reserve one final star to maybe award after subsequent visits. And I am 100% sure I will be back.

The best art supply store I’ve seen. It’s a candy store for anyone who wants to make something, paint something or just make something look pretty. Walking through inspired me to do more of what I know how to do and learn to do things of which I have no clue. :) Staff are super friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back with a plan.

I’m glad they moved out of the Mellwood Arts Center, which is a lovely place but not as centrally-located as the new Barret/Kentucky location. The new store is noticeably more spacious, and the place is packed with fun stuff. Anyone who buys art supplies knows that everything is expensive– but A&C Supply has lots of sales and usually has a good deal on something you’re looking for. They’re also hosting an artist bazaar in their vacant lot on Barret(it connects to their back door) every month, giving locals a venue to sell their work/wares. The employees seem to love bending over backwards to help you get started on whatever your next project is, and they’re also extremely knowledgeable.
