I just absolutely love this place. I have to bump them up to five stars because the taste and quality of Atlantic No. 5’s food is top notch. The food is fresh, wholesome, and healthy. They use ingredients you can’t find at many fast casual restaurants. You won’t find anything that came from a box or a bag. The dishes are thoughtful, creative, and handcrafted. My new job is right next door so I eat lunch here weekly now, and it has become one of my favorite spots downtown. From the regular menu, their grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup is my go-to. Usually though, I go with one of their daily specials. They have many specials that change daily. Everything I’ve had has been out of this world. My favorite was a tomato mozzarella panini that had the most delicious olive aioli on it. Another great thing about Atlantic No. 5 is the baked goods. I can’t resist getting a treat every time I come. Again, everything has been wonderful and fresh. I love the Bourbon Molasses cookies. Most recently, I tasted the Pumpkin Bar which had cream cheese frosting on it. It was awesome. Atlantic No. 5 is a great place to pop in for a sweet treat or an afternoon pick-me-up. I will note, as mentioned in my previous review, the prices are a bit high and the portions are a bit small. I’ve spent as much as over $ 20 on myself alone for a lunch here. However, you can stay in the $ 10 range if you’re careful. Also, the portions are smaller than what you’re used to, but they’re not tiny by any means. I’d say they’re adequate, leaving me satisfied without being stuffed. If it’s not enough for you, just add a bakery item and problem solved.

I’ve been to Atlantic no5 a couple times now because it’s so close to my office. I really like coming here because is a break from the the traditional Starbucks and the staff is so sweet. In additional I love the décor of Atlantic no5; it has a great vibe! I’ve mostly come for coffee/chai breaks, but lunch and snacks are good here as well – though if you come at noon you will hit a major lung rush! I’m a big fan of their salads and their sweets(scones, roundabout)!

I love a good sandwich shop and I think it’s a true testament of quality service when something as simply as a sandwich is done well. Well, I finally made it to Atlantic No. 5 and they do good eats! First of all, the aesthetic of the restaurant is great. It’s a clean design yet still feels chic and homey. I went with my mother and niece and it was nice that they had a little booster seat for her to use, and they were overall very accommodating for young child when they’re not really a kid-centric eatery. As for the food, I decided on a simple option of half a grilled cheese and a cup of tomato soup. This classic combo was of of their«pick 2» type of combos. Specifically, I had muenster cheese on sunflower wheat with creamy tomato soup(with yummy croutons). The bread was super yummy and tasted like natural goodness. The soup was surprisingly tasty for a simple soup. it was simply, clean food. My only qualm is that I would like a little bit more bang for my buck, the prices were a little higher than I think necessary. Despite that, I will definitely be back and plan on trying some of their awesome looking coffee!

I spent several months in Louisville on business and this was easily my favorite lunch spot downtown. I’d describe it as a modern, southern luncheonette. I enjoyed the power house salad which is on the menu every day. I liked the creamy dressing choice better. The daily specials and items in the glass case change from day to day and there were always delicious and unique choices. The ingredients are high quality and although this isn’t an inexpensive place, the prices are to be expected for this level of food. The portions tended to be a little on the smaller side, but again, it’s that quality over quantity mentality. Sometimes they would have watermelon slices, which was a nice treat on a summer day. Their baked goods are delicious as well and it’s easy to get carried away here! Order at the counter to-go or find a seat in the restaurant after ordering. It can get busy during lunchtime, but that’s because it’s the best place in town.

I got the seasonal pumpkin thai curry(vegan) soup and half of the vegetarian sandwich and it was AWESOME. Super flavorful and super delicious. It also came with a bag of chips and I was too full to munch on those. Also, the staff was super friendly and chatted with me a bit before I headed out. I’m vegan and am a bit limited on places where I can eat. This place is a 10⁄10. Go here. You won’t be disappointed! Definitely one of the best lunches I’ve had here in Louisville! PS The soy latte was also amazing!

I had lunch here — the food was very good. It’s a cute, clean café with a friendly atmosphere. Perfect short walk from a bunch of downtown hotels. If you’re in the neighborhood, try them out. I think this place would be even better with: — real soup spoons — better tea selection — better communication between the cashier and food prep staff(I ordered two things, and the wrong thing came out both times) — fresher baguettes But I liked it, and will certainly return.

There are also lots of little things about Atlantic No.5 that just make me happy when I walk inside. I love the thick napkins, the sliced fruit for water, the jars of pickles for sale, and just the general vibe of the whole place. Food, coffee, décor, and staff here are all solid. I loooove the pastries and always have to stop myself from ordering more than one. If you stop in for lunch, try to go a little early. The lunch rush can get a little brutal, although I’ve never had a problem finding a seat. I always like to get their«pick two» lunch special. Love the grilled cheese, but the turkey sandwich can feel a little plain. I also like that they serve Sunergos coffee here.

We’re in town for the ironman and stopped the next day for breakfast. This is more of a bakery than a café with really cool design and ambience. Unfortunately, most items are not gluten-free which was a bummer for half of our party. The coffee however was great! First good cup we had in Louisville!

I’m from out of town, and was looking for quick, fresh place to eat. This place was both, but on the bland side. They had a small menu, and the food was overpriced. I had the Mediterranean tuna sandwich that was OK, not too exciting and it came with plain ruffles and their daily side which was couscous salad. I hate plain chips, and find them superfluous. The couscous salad had fresh vegetables, but needed more flavor, like a vinegar. My husband ordered the Cuban press sandwich and it had more flavor and was pretty good. He had the same bland sides. They look like they had good homemade biscuits, so I wouldn’t be opposed to trying their breakfast, which was an even tinier menu. My husband also tried the mocha, which he said was possibly the best he’s ever had because of its chocolaty flavor. All in all, not bad, the food was definitely fresh and the décor was charming.

I’ve been wanting to try Atlantic No.5 for a while now, but it was the 502 Lunch Week desk that finally got me in the door. Parking can be a challenge in this part of downtown, do I went late and scored a spot just dish the block. Sandwiches normally range from $ 6 — 11(some come with chips & a side). They also have soups, salads, and some bowls(hummus, chicken/tuna salad, panzanella). The bakery case looked amazing and include scones, cookies, cakes, and no-bake bars. I ordered combo #1 from the special, lunch week menu for a mere $ 10. For that, I got the A5 grilled cheese, a side of Lebanese bean salad, some chips, a few pickles, a can of Coke, and a cookie!!! The grilled cheese is a delicious combination of smoked gouda, caramelized onions, and asiago bread. The cute, Mason jar of bean salad was filled with limas, kidney, and garbanzos with onion, celery and fill(which could have been chopped a bit smaller for my taste). A few slices of perfect(homemade?) pickle was tucked next to my sandwich. Crunchy chips and an icy Coke rounded out the meal. I had high hopes for the lemon cookie(only one choice available with combo). It turned out to be a shortbread. Delicate and crumbly, but no real lemon taste. It would’ve been good paired with coffee but not a great ending to my suburb lunch. Atlantic No.5 has regular lunch combinations and I’ll be sure to drop in next time I’m looking for a gourmet lunch on Main St.

I came here for 502 Restaurant week and I was super impressed! While I do wish the 10 $ deal was all the time, most sandwiches are 8 – 11, which isn’t too bad. You can also add a piece of fruit for a dollar! I got the chicken salad and an oatmeal cookie(they were out of choc chip). The chicken salad was really good. It came out on raisin bread which I was wasn’t too enthused about, but loved once I bit into it. The oatmeal raison was so good too! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It was light and fresh, and has a nice amount of space. We were lucky and got to eat outside. This is definitely a place I’d recommend for a light lunch!

In a jungle of chain restaurants there stands this single café in downtown Louisville. A minority. An individual. The façade and sign is simple, as is their menu. The interior is rustic and clean. Cotton white walls with an accent wall in a light shaded gray, and empty mason jars lining the shelves. You feel a sense of calm just sitting in this room. It doesn’t take away from the focal point, the counter in the middle of the room. Just because the menu is simple, it doesn’t take away from the flavor of their food or that they make everything from scratch in their kitchen. We had breakfast here, and I had ordered the biscuit with egg, bacon, and Gouda cheese. You have a choice of cheese so if you don’t like Gouda, you have two other options. The biscuits are fresh! Not the packaged dry stuff. It’s buttery, flaky, and chewy! I did ask for jam and butter on the side so I could my biscuit separate from the egg, cheese, and bacon. It deserved 110% of my attention. They had also a great selection of sweets which I will need to come back to try. Peanut butter sandwich cookie… I’ll be back for you. So if you’re looking for a homemade meal, made straight from the kitchen, this is the place to find it.

I need to update my initial review because after having breakfast and lunch here a dozen more times in the past several months I have changed my mind. I think some things have changed at Atlantic No 5… and all for the better. The portions seem like they have changed, to be more in line with the pricing of the menu. Also… I have had the pleasure of trying so many of their baked goods and now would say that they have some of the tastiest around! Try the oatmeal butterscotch cookie. The atmosphere is so nice and bright, and the staff are always friendly. I love that they have daily specials that are always so different and yummy. I wish I could stop in here every single morning for one of their breakfast biscuit sandwiches. Wow! Soooo savory! I still really enjoy the look of this spot and find it relaxing to just sit and savor my food over a slow lunch break.

I love this place! Very cool ambience, clean décor. Everything here tastes like it was made with love. Definitely try anything baked, cookies, cupcakes, they are the best. Their menu changes everyday, which makes it easy to come here more than once. Next time you want a sweet treat, or unique lunch downtown, try Atlantic No. 5!

I’ve identified this place as something that helps make Louisville awesome. Great food, friendly employees, relaxing atmosphere, and water and iced tea waiting for you to pour a glass. It’s a great place for me to conduct commerce. I can get boring paperwork finished, have a lunch meeting, and it’s relaxing all the same. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the biscuit doughnut– don’t ask just give them your money and they will give you goodness in return(it’s better if you ask them to warm it). The coffee is fantastic as well.

This is a really cute, kind of posh, little lunch spot, in the heart of downtown! It was steadily busy, but the service was quick, and the ladies behind the counter were very kind! I ordered the grilled cheese with asiago bread and swiss cheese. It was savory, piping hot and delicious! It came with a small handful of chips, so if you want more than that, I suggest buying one of their bags of chips! Though, they also have healthier side options such as fresh fruit cups and the like! I also ordered a bowl of the creamy tomato soup and it was really good and filling! The pricing might be a tad high for soups and sandwiches, but it is really tasty and I would definitely go back for more, in the future. The perfect lunch spot for those who work downtown, or for anyone who is in the area! Check it out, you won’t regret it!

This place was whack. I get it… Proof, Rye, both in the category of the greatest. But seriously you guys, how dare you serve such small portions when there are a dozen other restaurants within a five minute walk. I basically left hungry. As the server was approaching with our food, I said to myself, «please don’t be ours.» The plate itself was only double the size of my fist. And while we’re on the subject of the plate. Can I please tell you that my plate was chipped and the detail was so obviously redrawn with sharpie. Real bad. The food: not really that great at all. I got the cauliflower sandwich. It was creative and pretty good. But definitely not great and definitely not worth the price. My beau got the salami sandwich, which was about 3 – 5 slices of salami, pickles, and a squirt of mustard. The thinness of the sandwich inclusions was comical. Stack three quarters and you have the total height of the sandwich insides. It looked like Russian prison food. The sides were just as boring and non-appetizing as the sandwiches. Two stars go to the atmosphere and the service. The waiter was really patient with me; it somehow took me about ten minutes to choose between the mere 5 meal items on the menu.

Scenario: One minute to six and I have a splitting hunger headache. I am bee-lining to Atlantic No. 5 because I need a premade sandwich stat(for both hunger and because I’m late for another appointment). Thank goodness the sign said«open» as I walked into an empty store. One look at the waiters face and I knew that I had just crossed the«you are literally the last customer of the day, and I hate you with every ounce in my being, because I was seconds away from putting up the „closed“ sign and going home to finally relax» line, that was so clearly written in every bit of his expression. Unfortunately for him, I could not stand one more second without eating because I thought my head was going to explode. Fortunately for me, he was(despite the look we’ve all received more than once), very pleasant and friendly. Even made a few recommendations as to which sandwich was tasty. I tried to speedily order, eat, and jet. But the whole time, both waiter and waitress inside assured me that it was okay, I didn’t need to run — it was okay. I think the total interaction took about 10 minutes walking in to walking out. I’ve gotta give the lady and gent a high five for sticking out those last few minutes. My head and stomach thanks you because gosh that Garden sandwich really hit the spot! All of that being said, this was not my first time here, but it will have me back for more as the staff, food, and décor are entirely too pleasant to pass up! P. S. If I had had time, I’da ordered a cortado or an iced espresso or something to go because their espresso machine is absolutely gorgeous. If I recall, they sell Sunergos, which is pretty delicious.

I’d seen photos of scrumptious looking food from here from various friends. So following the Coffee Concert of the Louisville Orchestra the other day, I decided to venture across the street to give it a try for lunch. I had the grilled cheese and a chai. The sandwich, with onions and goat cheese was amazing! And the chai was also very good. My friend got the Mediterranean bowl. I tried some of it, the curry cauliflower in it was surprising! Spicy, but delicious… that is one way to get me to eat cauliflower. And the bread it came with… YUM! It’s a cute space, clean lines, bright, with a display of vintage lunch boxes. I hope to get back here sometime!

After hearing so much great buzz about this new Louisville lunch spot, I had to try it out. And it did not disappoint. First of all: the atmosphere. I love the clean design of this very urbane spot. It’s casual but not disorderly. Suits can sit next to jeans. And while it’s bright with a white palate, it’s not sterile or boring. I love the old childhood lunchboxes on the wall. Next, and perhaps most important, the food: I got the smoked salmon tartine. It had ample salmon on it for being $ 8, and it also included cream cheese, capers and red onion relish on a baguette. It comes with a lot of cream cheese, but it is not overwhelming. I also got a coffee, which was strong without being bitter — just like I like it. My friend got the rustic tomato soup, which included goat cheese. Now that I’ve seen this delicious soup, I don’t want to ever eat tomato soup without goat cheese on it again. So yummy! The next time I’m at Atlantic No. 5 — and there will most definitely be a next time — I want to try one of the bakery items or sides. The grilled cheese also looked like it would be a great compliment to a cool day.
