CitySpace on Main Self Storage

I’ve had a few storage units over the years for a variety of reasons, and I can say that CitySpace on Main is one of the nicest facilities I’ve seen.
The storage units are inside and climate-​controlled, which will be particularly nice when I have to get into my unit and move some stuff around in the winter and summer months. You can also pull your car into the facility to load and unload it – again avoiding the high heat, cold, sleet, snow, rain, zombie apocalypse, what have you.
The whole place is very clean, and the lady at the front desk has been nice and helpful.
CitySpace is downtown and close to my home. Plus you can pay online.
And I just learned that CitySpace also serves as a K-​9 training center for the Louisville Police. Crazy stuff.
The rental prices seem comparable, skewing a little high — but again you get a lot of amenities for you and your stuff.
The one thing I don’t like is that I can’t access my unit 24/​7, but, then again, if I need into my unit at 3 a.m. something is likely very wrong … or I’ve just procrastinated in some way.

They allow access to storage units from 6 am to 10 pm. I’d prefer ²⁴⁄₇ because you never know. But when it comes down to it, I guess I can’t really imagine myself needing late night access. Maybe for a little snack at their old fashioned popcorn cart! Seriously, this is one of the best perks a storage unit could offer. It’s never really a fun experience to move boxes or try and find stuff amidst tons of boxes in a storage unit, but some complimentary popcorn whenever you visit lightens the load a bit.
Also, their hallways remind me of a map in GoldenEye 007 on N64. So, that’s pretty sweet too.

Back in August I downsized from a three bedroom house to a one bedroom apartment and had to find a place to put all of that extra stuff. As the main storage center in the downtown area CitySpace offered me the answer. I was able to book my indoor climate controlled unit ahead of time online and their prices are reasonable. On my move-​in day the staff was helpful and curteous. However, the follow up service has been severely lacking. I never receive any invoices or receipts of payment. I just have to hope that they have been getting my payments and that makes me uncomfortable.
