The food was excellent and the price was right. Both times we have visited this restaurant has not disappointment. The tacos are only a little over $ 2 a piece and are delicious(at least the carnitas and barbacoa which I ordered). The black and white guacamole is unique and very tasty, definitely not something you will find at other Mexican restaurants. The décor is not very good but who cares, the place is clean and comfortable for having a meal. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Was headed to another local restaurant when we seen this place and we are glad we did. Authentic Mexican and definitely different from your Americanized Mexican restaurants. They even have a few pasta dishes for those of you that don’t want Mexican. We were very impressed with the food. Some of the best I have had in Louisville. The portions were good size and the price was very reasonable. My only issue is I didn’t have enough room to try one of their desserts. Will definitely be back!!!

Although I should give this place 3 stars I’m going to go with 4 because of the effort and in consideration that we went in on opening day. I’m not sure if it’s great marketing or a bad omen to place themselves in a location that has been several other restaurants that closed and right across the street from two more Mexican restaurants. A Cuban restaurant and dozens of other choices are also nearby. So here are a few things I hope the fix; the music is too loud and we had to yell at the waitress. its hard enough when English speaking patrons are trying to communicate with staff who speak little English, although they are trying hard having the music so loud that we had to yell does not help. The décor is lacking althouth better than some small Mexican restaurants. I hope they figure out to decorate soon. Everything was very clean but sparse. You can tell they plan on success as they have at least 5 young waitresses all learning what to do and trying their very best to be cheerful and helpful even though they were learning. I got the feeling they have a real chef and it looks like they plan on having a bar once they get a liquor license. The menu was not as huge as some places and that’s a good thing. Not the greatest but much better than other placed we have tried lately, for example we were very critical of another Mexican restaurant that had a very difficult to read and messy menu. Tihs menu was clearly designed by someone with a bit more skill. The descriptions are lacking so go ahead and try some new things as the food is really good. Keep in mind this is the kind of place where most of the customers are going to be South American and for me that tells me I’m going to get some authentic dishes. We were hoping for breakfast buritos(still on a quest to find a decent one in this town), but no luch. We ordered sandwiches to go. We ordered the BLT which was on a really good bread, had bacon, turkey, avacado, and the usual stuff but it was really good. I hope they use this bread on other Torta’s as it was really good. Our sandwhiches which we ordered to go came with a huge bag of tortilla chips and salsa. While we were waiting our waitress brought us chips and not one but three salsas! All of which I really liked, the avocado salsa was too hot for my wife, but I liked it and the regular salsa was one of the best I’ve had in town, my wife wondered if we could get some to take home, it was that good. The young ladies who waited on us were cute and trying so hard to take care of us but still figuring things out. For example when I went to pay my bill they forgot to run it so there was a place to leave a tip on the credit card. I pointed it out and they were a little confused and apologized, I was glad we had a little cash so we could leave a tip. Our waitress had to go ask the chef questions for us several times but that was our fault because we kept asking questions about the menu that were mor particular than most would be. She took care of us cheerfully and was easy to talk with. We will go back and hope the prove to be as good as the potential seems. It’s never going to be a fancy fusion place, this is going to be down home Mexican served well and priced low. I will go to places like this several times a week and over a chain Mexican food which is often bad and too Americanized for my tastes.
