So, it’s try new things Sunday so I went to Heine Brothers and had the Salty Turtle, mainly because it sounded dirty AND exciting. It was definitely one of those things. I also had the cheddar bacon scone because cheddar and bacon but cheddar AND bacon, though? Exactly. I hadn’t had a scone before, I am not Emily Kiebel. I am here her counterpart; we share a God child. She is the moral of the story and I am the cautionary tale. I can’t tell you if it was a GOOD scone but I have had cheddar and bacon before it and mos def met and exceeded my expectations. I also got a great deal of work done this morning and I was really happy about that, there were several people in the coffee shop but things were arranged where I could hear them but it wasn’t such an arrangement that I could tell you what they were talking about or what flavor scone they picked. This might be my new OMFG could you STFU spot. Please don’t tell the Holy Mother Mermaid that I was here.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the Louisville area. Great bold coffee with a lot of flavor. This specific location is usually pretty busy, and it’s hard to find a seat inside. Great service and friendly employees.

For starters let me say that I am not usually a coffee drinker these days, tea is really my jam. But I drink tea all and eery day and Heine brothers is my favorite coffee shop for tea is town. Not only do they have some delicious teas but they actually steep their own loose leave tea instead of giving you a tea bag. I buy the mango India and brew it at home too. Another great thing about Heine brothers is they use local honey yum! I really like this location, it’s close to my office but I loved close to it for a few years as well. I like the vibe in the place for hanging out and the patio is an added bonus. I also enjoy the little fact of the day and question of the day they do here. This location is at the end of the gardiner lane shopping center and I never have trouble parking fairly close.

I love Heine Brothers coffee and beverage creations. This is always one of the first stops when I have guests from out of town. The Chiaberg is my favorite summer drink, and they make a mean Americano. The atmosphere is so comfortable. You will always feel welcome here.

Their coffee is really good. I come here every time I am in Louisville. I wish they had a better choice for snacks and food.

Y’all, I love Heine Brothers’ so much. This is the closest location to my work and it seems that every time it’s a rainy day I end up craving it. So with all the rain this summer you can imagine that I’ve been to this location quite frequently. I do love that they have a drive thru since I’m often here when it rains. It’s a speedy drive thru for a coffee shop, I think. There’s outdoor seating(if it’s not raining, of course) and the inside seating is pretty cozy here. I’m used to the Eastern Parkway location which is much more open– this seems like a quieter and more intimate seating area. I can imagine it would be great for studying or working, I always see people with their laptops out here. I’m a big fan of local businesses if you haven’t noticed and fair trade makes it even better. Most of the time I get a hot tea and just put a bit of honey in it and I haven’t disliked a single tea I’ve tried here. I like their chai tea latte as well which I get with soy milk for just a bit of a different flavor.

This Heine Brother’s has a drive through and that makes me super happy! I love the fact that I can get a local beverage on the go! As like all of their locations, this Heine brothers has an unique flair and an eclectic menu. Whether I’m looking for something hot or cold, I love stopping by.

Drive through was broken, Cash register was down, Cashier was rude. Don’t waste your time plenty more coffee shops in town willing to take my 6.00 for a coffee///

Coffee is fresh, full-bodied and just the right temperature. I am by no means a Starbucks«hater», but after dozens of coffees at both places, I honestly prefer Heine Brothers… although I still give the Cappuccino nod to Starbucks, when it is done correctly and not a latte in disguise. Drive thru staff is great, even when the ask you to order your coffee in prose, rhyme, or song.

Heine Brothers is a favorite. They are conveniently located around town and their coffee(and Lapsang souchong tea) are amazing.

Rude rude rude, my husband was being sweet and stopped to get me a coffee, I used to get Starbucks but recently have being trying to buy local. My husband made the mistake of ordering a Venti instead of a large. The woman waiting on him at the drive through asked him three times what size he wanted, while laughing at him(like she didn’t know he meant large) What a bunch of snobs, at least at Starbucks people are always friendly and I get the drink I ordered. I frequent this location and have been given the wrong drink on several occasions. Guess I have to start making the drive to Highland Coffee to support local. So disappointing.

I love everything about Heine Bros coffee. The highlands wouldn’t be the same without it. I’ve gotten so many different things, and they’ve always tastes great. Their iced chai tea is out of this world amazing. The interior is very neat and clean, with easy access to power outlets to charge your devices. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is very positive!

I’m slightly ashamed of myself for not coming here sooner. I’ve always just gone to Starbucks. Boy have I been missing out! The coffee here is wonderful and the mochas are addicting. I never thought I liked mochas but I’d just never had a good one. They may be a tad bit more expensive but the quality is well worth the small cost.

At first, I loved this location. Now it seems customer service has been put on hold. I love ice coffee. I’ve had hundreds in my life. I always ask for sugar and cream. No problem. Lately at this place, that’s an issue. Ask them to add that, they inform me that there’s sugar and cream on the counter. When did I start working here? They have a tip jar… What am I tipping for? I make half the drink.

Great mixed berry lemonade. I liked it so much the first time that I stopped by again when I drove through Louisville. The drive through is also super convenient.

Love their coffee. It is a bit pricey but the taste is great and the shoppe is a great place to sit and read and have a coffee and chat with friends.

I love Heine Brothers, but I’ll admit that at first I didn’t know what I would write for this review. I have reviewed other Heine Brothers, and to be honest, I thought this Heine Brothers could be summed up like the others: great coffee selection, easy-to-find power outlets for laptops, great place to meet people to chat, yummy pastries and other snacks, friendly service, great community partner. But after settling down to do some work at this Heine Brothers location, which is at the end of the Gardner Lane Shopping Center, I noticed a few things that definitely deserved mentions. First and most of all, there are separate outdoor seating areas for smokers and non-smokers. This is, without a doubt, awesome! I almost let out a shriek of glee when I saw this! More business should have this if they have the space for it. Not to start some big debate on smokers vs. non-smokers, but let me just say this: I am a non-smoker. I hate cigarette smoke. I’ll suffer through it if it means I get to enjoy a latte outdoors, but it definitely degrades the experience. I love that I won’t have to pick between sunshine or healthy lungs at this Heine Brothers location. This in and of itself might be enough to make me a regular customer. This Heine Brothers also has a drive-through, and while I’ve said it in other reviews, I just have to mention this again: I love the crowd of people who frequent the HB’s. During my last visit to this location, I sat beside courteous high school kids, studying med school students, a mom and her kids, a priest and a man who was clearly interviewing another for a job. HB brings out a neat microcosm of society. I’m happy to be a part of it!

Conveniently located right off the Watterson, with ample free parking, this has recently become my office away from the office. Lots of comfortable seating, good climate control, appropriate music selection/volume, solid wifi, and of course good/consistent coffee. One negative: the men’s room could be a lot cleaner. I simply try not to have to use it.

The good: Heine Brothers is local — I like to patronize local when I can This location meets the need for a local shop on the outer Bardstown corridor They recycle cups and lids(or you can ask for your drink in a mug) Nice layout The bad: As other reviewers have said, the price is a little steep and the drinks aren’t always consistent from one employee/location to the next The really bad: The most recent time I visited, I asked if the drink I wanted could be made decaf. The employee raised his eyebrows at me and said, «Uh, of course.» He continued to give me a perplexed/“That’s an asinine question” look so I explained. «Some coffee places I have been to have told me that they cannot make certain drinks decaf, and I just wanted to check before I ordered.» Cue laughter from the employee a la Tom Hulce in the movie Amadeus. «I’m sorry, I’m sorry,» he held up a palm towards me. «That’s just the most stupid question I think I have ever heard anyone ask. ‘Can we make something decaf?’ Of course we can!» he continued as he ran my credit card. I signed. .. minus a tip. Can’t say I want to revisit this place anytime soon after that.
