this place is under new ownership. Had a full set done Saturday. The new owner, (Kevin) is warm and personable. His wife even sat and chatted with me. It’s super clean and relaxing. Will definitely be my go to place for nails from here on out. Love my nails, so pretty!

I made an appointment for a gel mani-​pedi and brow waxing. They were ready for me when I got there. My nail technician, Linda, was super friendly and did a great job. Price wise, it’s about normal: a gel mani + pedi is $ 60, waxing was $ 10. I had my doubts after reading some reviews for the place but decided to give it a shot since its so close to my place. Some reviews mentioned sanitary issues, the place now sterilizes all of their nail instruments. I saw Linda go to the machine and get the instruments out. I will definitely be back!

A friend & I stopped in on a whim while in town for the DCCC. The staff were all friendly, accommodating, and did a great job. I had gotten a poorly-​done gel manicure prior to this and they not only fixed it up, but told me what to watch for in the future. I had a gel mani and basic pedi; my friend, basic mani and basic pedi.

Ok so I’ve been loyal to this salon for awhile well about two weeks ago I went in for fill in during that time I got nail fungus I went in today to let them know and have my nails removed until the fungus grow off my nails thinking that since I got the fungus from them they’ll not charge me I got pedi/​mani at the end I was still charged $ 65 for both I couldn’t believe it I told them I’m very upset that I got the nail fungus from someone not using clean instruments and yet was charged full price!

I’ve had good service here, no complaints, just the basics but good should service here.

Absolutely horrible!!! They don’t sanitize their nail equipment! Hepatitis could easily be contracted here. On top of that, «missy» ripped a chunk of the skin by my nail off and I didn’t stop bleeding. She then sprayed it with alcohol! OUCH!!! The nail Polish I picked didn’t look clear on the display plastic nail but was pretty much clear after three coats. Awful experience, painful, dirty, and not worth it. Go to a salon. Waste of $ 30

I use to come here a lot when Alex was here. She is awesome… but she has moved out the state so I had not been in month. I finally went back last week and got pink and white nails for the first time and it was an interesting process. Needless to say, it was shiny, I was in a hurry and once I left I realized. MAJORITY of my nails were crooked! I will NEVER go back there. I wish I could attach a picture because I would! There are two guys there I believe .the tallest one is who did my nails. I have heard about him doin nails crooked before but that was so long ago I literally forgot. Out of 10 nails…6 of them are crooked!!! IF YOU NEED YOUR NAILS DONE… go some where else. I can’t wait to get a fill in and get them straightened. This is ridiculous!

This is my go-​to pedicure place. There are no frills but the prices are reasonable and I’ve never had to wait a long time! Love it!

After visiting this place several times I will not be going back. I went in about two weeks ago to get my usual pedi. They let the water in the bowl overflow on me twice. While getting my pedicure done, the lady literally rolled here eyes at me and asked why I didn’t come on a less busy day. I then requested to get just a polish on my nails. She was in such a rush that she messed them up several times and left me with clumpy, over-​polished nails. Due to the rudeness of this particular worker and the less than average work I’ve gotten on each visit, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

This place sucked. I went in to get a manicure on a rainy day, so I expected it to be slow. There was two other customers in the salon and about four nail technicians, and it seems like I got the worst one. He took forever to do my nails but at the same time made me feel rushed. I got shellac nails with French tips and the tips were very uneven. My nails were different lengths and the white tips on my nails were of different thicknesses. When I tried to explain that my nails didn’t look good, he didn’t seem to understand (or maybe he was just pretending to not understand). The guy that did my nails was also kind of creepy. He just gave off a weird pedo vibe. The manicure was trash and I paid way too much for it.

Friendly and professional. I love Vivian and she is my go to girl for manicures for sure. It’s not fancy here– so if that is what you are looking for, venture on to another nail salon. My shellac always lasts 3 – 4 weeks and the prices are very reasonable. $ 30 for shellac, $ 38 for a basic mani/​pedi combo.

To start, if you’re looking for a basic mani pedi then this place would probably make most people happy. However, I went in to get a full acrylic set on my fingernails and I won’t be going back. I showed him a picture of the ‘stiletto’ nails which is where they shape them to a point, him and his coworkers laughed then continued to talk amongst each other in another language. A little unnerving.
First, the guy didn’t cut my real nails at all, which were pretty long, before applying the fake ones. This makes it easier for them to break and also looks really ugly on the under side of the acrylics. He then didn’t do a side by side comparison of my two hands to make sure they were the same length on every finger after shaping them.. The nail polish he applied wasn’t bad but i got a simple natural beige color.
I guess i’m just a irritated at the fact that I just spent $ 30 to have my nails done, then just finished spending 2 hours at home having to reshape each nail and then repaint them.
Oh, and lastly, you might want to bring your own fingernail polish if you like variety. They don’t have as much to choose from as they should.

I will never go back to this salon. I have gone here multiple times in the past, but yesterday’s experience was the deciding factor on where to NOT get my nails done. The girl that did my nails was rude, pushy and literally rolled her eyes when I told her the color she insisted I needed was not what I wanted. She and her coworker also talked about how much they drank the night before and how tired they were and how much they couldn’t wait to be finished with us so that they could go home. She even complained about other customers that were in the salon to my face. I have never had such an unprofessional experience getting my nails done. NEVER AGAIN.

This place does a great job and my mani-​pedi looked great and lasted for quite some time. My only critique was that they seemed completely bored and were falling asleep! They didn’t mess up my nails but I felt awkward that the woman helping me had to tap her face to wake herself up. Would recommend for anyone wanting quality work.

This wasn’t any stand-​out salon though it wasn’t awful. It felt a bit cluttered, and didn’t have a great selection of trendy colors (thankfully I brought my own) but the chair massage was awesome and the employees were friendly — not chatter in other languages which was a plus. Would probably check out another location next time I’m in town.

I started coming here At the end of February and I’m not going anywhere else! Impeccable service, very friendly staff!

I recently visited Louisville on Business and during my stay I needed nail services. I must add I have lived in numerous large cities throughout my career, and in these variety of places I have never experienced a professional detailed manicure/​pedicure as I had with Alexandra at Highland Nails. Her attention to detail combined with her exceptional service made it perfect! My only regret is that I’m visiting and can not take Alexandra back to my hometown. Thanks Alexandra for the Spa experience.

I’ve stopped going to Highland Nails after a few less than good mani/​pedis and one truly horrific waxing experience that has turned me off to waxing, and I’m Italian so this is a big deal.
Head a few blocks down Bardstown to American Nails.

I think that staff is friendly but the paint job did not look like it was done by an experienced professional. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t perfect. And for $ 30 gel manicure, it should be perfect.
Moving on to the ambiance. It looks new, fresh paint, modern furniture and fixtures but they cluttered it up by hanging hideous pleather handbags from the wall candle holders. There is a slightly less hideous cheap shoe/​wallet display in the corner. There are little TVs hanging on the wall that pass the time. I didn’t make it back to the pedi area so I cannot report on that.
If I lived in the area I might go back but would still keep my options open on a place that does more solid work.

I wandered into Highland Nails this evening after my «unchippable shellac» nailpolish from another salon suddenly started chipping off of multiple nails after a week. Desperate for a fix I sat down with Alexandra who turned out to have just the diagnosis and solution. As she soaked and peeled off the polish she explained to me that the previous salon had applied the color directly to the nails without applying the necessary base coats. She also knew just from looking at my nails that they had used an electronic file on the tops of the beds of my natural nails and took the time to explain to me why this was particularly damaging to nails. She then carefully buffed, trimmed, filed, etc my nails until they were back to being the correct shape before applying the shellac/​soak of gel. By the way the salon has a huge variety of colors to choose from in shellac/​soak of gel. Alexandra also promised me that if her polish chipped within a week and a half I could come in and they would fix it for no additional cost. I was extremely impressed not only with Alexandra’s work but also with her knowledge. Oh and the included parafin dip was just the icing on the cake for a total cost of $ 30.
