History
Established in 1966.
Joe Ley Antiques is today known as one of the largest singly owned (not a mall) establishments in the United States. The founder, Joe Ley grew up as an orphan and was passed around, unwanted from family to family. Never officially adopted, he aged out of the orphanage at 18. His survival instincts sparked his humble beginnings as he would scour the neighborhood for discarded items that could possibly be of some worth or re-cycled in some way. In the mid 1980’s he began supplying theme restaurants such as Friday’s, Houlihan’s, and Max & Erma’s just to name a few. This established himself in the industry as a «go to» guy for the unusual an obscure. Forty eight years later, his two acre, three story historical school house overflows with funky finds, exquisite treasures an all sorts of curiosities in between, providing a one of a kind shopping experience in the heart of the Nulu Art District.
