Kaplan Barron Pediatric Group

I was very disappointed and offended by the service of the front desk people at this pediatric office, and at times, a couple of the doctors. I had been taking my child here for 2.5 years, since birth. Our insurance had recently changed, and we had been paying out of pocket for sick visits over the last several months, and were current on ALL payments.
The last time I took him in for a sick visit I was told they did not accept my insurance and they refused to see my child, and instructed me to go elsewhere, despite my child being a lifetime patient there. We had been in and out of this office for 5 – 6 months trying to figure out what was going on with him, with high fevers, dry cough during exertion, sneezing, etc, each time seeing a different Doctor. Every time I expressed I suspected he was beginning to sound asthmatic, and each time they said because of his age (2.5) there was no way of knowing. They never suggested a specialist.
There were other discrepancies that were often poo pooed and ignored. I have since taken my child to an allergist who did say he is beginning to show signs of asthma and has allergies, and early intervention and mitigation is best.
It’s very frustrating because I was highly satisfied with the care my child received from the doctor (Lehocky) he saw for checkups at Kaplan Barron, but due to his amazing bedside manner and popularity, is difficult to see on a random sick visit.
I am disappointed and hurt that when my child was ill and I expressed my concerns about his symptoms and asthma, they were ignored by other doctors in the practice, and I felt like just another number being shuffled through – not a person. I understand these people do this for a living and deal with sick children and concerned parents every day, but it would be nice to be treated with some respect.
The front desk workers are the worst. I feel like they dont even see my face – they just bark for an insurance card and slam their glass divider shut. If there is a break down in the process, i.e., the computer doesnt take the insurance card, they say they are waiting for approval from their office manager, who is never there or cannot be reached. They really dont give a rats patoot if you have to sit there all day waiting for said office manager – if that person even exists – so long as they can click around on their computers and act like they are doing work behind their special, super important and impersonal glass divider.
We have since moved to another pediatric office. I am now understanding there is a loophole in the Hippocratic oath if the office trolls are refusing service. It’s just sad that doctors allow their office trolls to treat people this way and turn away sick children – especially ones who have been going to that office since birth.

I’m so glad we chose this group to care for our now six month girl! They have both a well and sick entrance. They provide late office hours Mon. — Thurs. and are open for a few hours on saturday as well. We see Dr. Johnson and she is nice, informative and willing to answer any questions! They have a triage line that allows you to ask questions and see if an actual visit is warranted. We have used it several times and once a M.D. called me back directly and even called in a prescription for our girl! It’s a great supportive place for new parents like myself.

This is a great practice!!! All of the Doctors who we have come in contact with, and it’s most of them, have been great. Dr Johnson is our actual Dr. and she is fantastic!!! Our daughter has a pretty thick file and they have always done there best we feel!
The hours our great, they will get you in any day!!! Even on the weekends!!!
Not to mention it’s about 5 – 10 mins from our house.

I take my 18 month here and have been very pleased. I typically see Dr. Johnson, who has been great. The staff is very efficient and pleasant. They are very supportive of different parenting styles (although I had a friend get some ending breast feeding pressure from Dr. Neustadt, I have never run into any pushiness). The office doesn’t look like the newest place, but it is run incredibly well and they can do almost anything in house, plus they will visit your child at a hospital, if that is needed. Dr. Lehocky is also super great with children with disabilities!

Great doctors, easy to get an appointment even at short notice.
