I try to shop at independent, local stores, but when I need a unique card or small gift(and am rushed for time), I usually turn to the Paper Source. I first discovered them when I lived in Virginia and often opted for PS rather than the Papyrus up the street. Paper Source locations tend to have a homey vibe, more like a mom and pop shop than national chain. Their pricing often seems lower too. This store is in the old, Vogue Theatre complex. The light and airy space is chocked full of greeting cards(including my favorite, letter press versions) and wrapping papers as you would imagine. However, they also have a myriad of crafting and party supplies as well as custom, invitation services available. Today, I picked up a small book to send a friend and perused the gifting possibilities for Mother’s Day(day after Derby this year, y’all). Paper Source often has fantastic sale racks, so I poured over the offerings in the front and he back. Came away with some deeply discounted cards! If you can’t make it over to Celebrations or Cartwheels, Paper a Source is a good option for cards that don’t look like they came from Target and small presents that are fun and quirky. Looks like you put some effort into it!

What a fun, beautiful store to inspire you to be more creative! I walked in expecting to find only cards, notebooks and wrapping paper but was pleasantly surprised to find so much more. The staff was also friendly and my two sons loved it. So let’s begin with the most obvious — cards. They have them for various occasions or just for fun. My favorite was the one covered in bats with the header«Bat Shit Crazy». The store also carries large sheets of beautiful paper which can be for wrapping a special gift, but also unique enough to grab a frame and display as artwork. Or, perhaps to paper inside a bookshelf for a pop of color. I discovered card making classes are offered for a fee. So they support your creativity by selling embellishments for cards, stamps, hole punches, etc. Throwing a party and want to design the décor, banners, etc. Yes, this is the place for a few supplies. You will also find fun gifts for yourself, family and friends — even the guys. Coloring books, reading books, home décor, art supplies and so much more that I am leaving out. Skip the craft stores and stop by the Paper Source. It’s bright and will make spark the creative side in everyone.

I am an avid letter-writer. It is my hobby and I send out upwards of one-hundred-fifty hand-written notes during the month — not counting post cards and interoffice memoranda. That, paired with my journaling and origami habits makes me a bit of a paper snob. Do you need a pen pal? I’m your buddy. I found Paper Source using Unilocal and I was not disappointed. I’m always looking for new sources of paper and I needed to update my personal stationery. This is a place that will be able to serve both of these needs. The staff was enormously helpful and I am excited to go back to order my stationery. They offer all manner of paper goods: cards, post cards, do-it-yourself stationery supplies, party supplies, as well as the ability to custom order your stationery. They also had a clearance section that I dutifully pilfered. I didn’t notice fancy pens but I was also avoiding that endeavor. People love a hand-written note and something that isn’t a bill in the mail. Be sure to stop by here to stock up on the supplies to make someone’s day a little extra special.

When you walk in, you are welcomed with glitter, bright banners, and wrapping paper that will make you mean olé grandma smile! Whether you need invitations, gifts, bourbon rocks, or cards for any occasion — Paper Source has just what YOU need! They offer customized cards that are pricey but worth it if you have the money! I also buy many DIY decorations you can put together. And if you have ANY questions about how to make a craft or item they carry in the store… the crafty gals will help you! The prices are higher but it is due to the quality of each item and most of the items you can only purchase at Paper Source… and it’s worth every penny! I LOVE getting my yearly planners here! They have one to fit every style and attitude you could dream of! Why don’t you save glitter and craft with Paper Source ;)

Fun store with lots of neat items– great for gift giving. You can find a lot of the items cheaper online but the staff are so friendly and I don’t want them to go out of business so I pay the higher price in-store just for the experience. My young daughter loves the trinkets and little toys and they have nice pens! I love nice pens…

The ladies are always so friendly when I come in! While the prices are a little on the expensive side, everything is such good quality that I don’t mind spending a few extra dollars on supplies. They have such great customer service and the ladies who work there really seem to care about what you are looking for and interested in. They are super creative and helpful. Definitely a store to check out!

Wow… Let me first just say that this is not a scrapbook store. This store is part of a national chain, but feels like a unique local shop. The Paper Source has beautiful papers, ribbons, tissue and boxes for gift wrapping, books and kits for paper crafts like making flowers. It has stationary, cards and rubber stamping supplies. It was a joy to wander through the store on a beautiful fall day. It’s also close to some other cool shopping opportunities like Cooking at the Cottage and Lotsa Pasta. Parking is easy.

I first found this store in Philadelphia, PA. What a great store! Classy, fun with a variety of items to select from. So glad we have one in Louisville!
