Customer service is important! Unfortunately, the owner/s and/or management of this business, don’t know that. I take pride in supporting locally owned businesses; the Pizza Place is five minutes from my house, so when I had a late night craving for pizza, I called. Each time I called(four times), the phone rang twice, someone picked up and then I was hung up on. Sadly, I’ve never had their food. With suck butt service like other reviews outline, and I got just now, I’ll never get to try the place.

There are times when you have to admit you’ve done something wrong. This was the case when I realized I had been going to the chain pizza place closest to me when this gem was just as close. Thankfully one of my Unilocal friends had completed a review and it urged me to stob by the location. Since then, there’s been no turning back. I’m at least there once a week. Why? Well, lets talk about the delicious pizza. My favorite has to be the buffalo chicken pizza. It’s the right amount of crunchy and gooey to satisfy that pizza need. But they have so many different flavors for your satisfaction. They also give you a yummy garlic sauce on the side. Also a fave is their wings which are baked, not fried. This place also has a fully stocked bar and the servers and bartenders are super nice and always remember your face. There’s live music different days of the week, trivia, and plenty of tv’s for your sports needs. Not the most flashy, but awesome joint!

BUYERBEWARE! One of the waitresses that works here is a thief. My mom ordered pizza last week and the sticky-fingered waitress added a «$ 2» in front of the $ 5 tip… making her total tip $ 25. My mom caught the issue the next day when reviewing her account online. Sadly when she spoke with the restaurant owner, although he seemed disappointed, he only said he’d take the $ 20 tip out of the waitress’ paycheck. My mom did get a $ 20 refund but she should’ve been given a full refund — the $ 5 tip she initially left, the stolen $ 20, and the entire $ 30 pizza order. And the thieving waitress should be FIRED! Under no circumstances should an employee be allowed to STEAL from a customer and keep their job. This was a grown, adult woman and a THIEF!

Decent pizza for the price with a «everyone is a regular» feel to this place. It is an extremely casual and laid back atmosphere with a friendly staff. The place has a nice size patio and bar fully stocked with beers of every type. I started with a side salad that was actually fresh tasting. We ordered a Stromboli with a side of fries and a 10 inch pizza called Shawn’s buffalo pizza to share. The pizza and sandwich were large in size and quick to come to our table. The Stromboli meat did seem to be a frozen patty that was reheated; I will not be ordering that again. We were pleasantly surprised with the pizza and freshness of all the ingredients. The pizza seemed larger than 10 inches. The crust was thick without being too thick and had a good ratio of cheeses to sauce to toppings. My only complaints were that our server seem to enjoy hanging with the locals more than checking on us… the new customers. We did have to ask twice for a water refill because the server was hanging out with a table literally right next to us. It also took about 10 minutes to get her attention so we could get a check. Also, the cook was trying out some new type of nachos and brought them out for the table next to us to try. The nachos looked great. However the bartender, our server, and the cook all came out and literally ate nachos at the table next to us, using their fingers, and then would bring us food. Maybe they all washed their hands prior to preparing our food, but it left me a little uneasy. As long as you don’t mind extremely causal atmosphere and service, this place is okay to dine.

I have had their lunch buffet twice in the last 2 – 3 months and really enjoyed it. It’s a bar type old school pizza place, which I like. I don’t need or want«artisan» pizza or burgers for crying out loud! This place does it as a pizza joint should. They have had chili both times I was there and it was tasty. They also have a small salad bar. They put out around 3 pizzas at a time and constantly replenish. They will ask you if you want any specific type of pizza. One lady asked for a buffalo chicken one and I was glad she did! They also have cheese bread and little ham and cheese sandwiches, which I could’ve based my entire meal on. It was a great value, good service and a nice place to eat lunch in Hikes Point.

This is the best pizza I’ve EVER eaten! The staff are wonderful as well as Roddy, the owner. The CALZONE is to die for.

I am from the northeast where nondescript neighborhood restaurants often offer a better dining experience than those with the most hype and notoriety. So this evening when my husband recommended trying this place, one he has passed by on several occasions, I read the Unilocal reviews and thought we should give it a try. Coming from a place full of Italian Americans to Louisville, I’ve been desperate to find a great local place where you can get a decent slice and a great dish of pasta. So when Pizza Place offered a good looking pizza menu and a baked spaghetti with a signature sauce I was hopeful. My hopes were quickly dashed. It was a good 5 – 10 minutes after we we seated before we were offered menus and drink orders were taken. We ordered their sampler platter to try their breaded, baked chicken tenders and other offerings. First, the cheese served with the breadsticks disguised as soft pretzels had a distinct look of microwaved cheese sauce crusty skin around the edges and all. Also, they brought a package of ranch dressing as a dip and a bowl of cold marinara for dipping. My husband ordered a 10″ ultimate pizza which arrived, canned and frozen veggies and all atop a pre made crust, a good 10 – 15 minutes before my «baked spaghetti». My dish arrived with piping hot breadsticks along side cold spaghetti topped with hardened cheese that was probably melted at one time and hard crusty gray meatballs. The plate was even cold– that’s how long it sat there waiting for the breadsticks to bake. I could not bring myself to even try to gray meatballs and the signature sauce was nothing more than something poured directly from giant can of no-name pre made sauce. May as well have been ketchup. The waitress did not return once to ask how the food was or to see if anything was needed. We sat without touching our plates for a good 10 minutes before she returned asking if my husband wanted another beer at which point we got the Check, paid cash(so we could get out as fast as we could) and ran out of there. Louisville remains a local Italian food desert in my eyes. Or maybe I need to readjust my expectations? After all, what more should I have expected from people who could not come up with a better name than«Pizza Place» for their restaurant?

My husband and I love this place! They not only have delicious pizza, but everything else we’ve tried there has been delicious, from appetizers to pastas! It’s a great place to enjoy cold beer and good company.

Been there twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. Good pizza. They have a «lunch buffet» but there isn’t a lot of pizza out. They do ask you what you want and they make it for you, which is great but my friend and I spent a lot of time waiting for pizza to be brought out. Great food though, it’s going to cost you more than delivery but you get what you pay for and its pretty darn good.

My boyfriend and I come here ATLEAST once a week. We love the food(recommend the breadsticks and the buffalo chicken pizza) the atmosphere and the beer selection here is always good. My favorite part is the staff makes us feel like family and always take care of us.

Ate here last night because the owners generously gave the place over to us Bernie Sanders supporters. We had a large Dem debate watching party! A friend and I had four toppings 14 inch pizza. It was about 21 dollars. Excellent. Though the crust was rather tough. Our server was friendly and competent.

Do not judge this place by the appearance. The TV set up inside is impressive, some tables have their very own Tv. They run a buffet daily, where a drink is included with the price. I have never had anything bad from here. Their pizza is delicious. I’d say a lot like Wicks pizza, maybe better.

I have lived in hikes point for 9 years and have never ventured in here until I bought a Groupon and boy, oh boy, have I really missed out! The pizza is delicious! We got the lunch buffet and they made whatever we wanted! They ask what kind of pizza you like and they put it on the buffet! How awesome is that?! Plus, garlic bread and hot ham and cheese on the buffet. Drink is included. Everyone is so nice and accommodating! I will definitely use this as my go to pizza place!

Awesome neighborhood pizza joint. I currently live within walking distance, but will make the drive for this pizza no matter where I live in the future. The pizza is perfect. Just the right amount of crust with lots of yummy sauce, toppings, and cheese. The flavor of the pizza is excellent. I’ve also had the cheese bread, which is just as good. I mostly have their pizza through delivery or carry-out, but I love dining in at the Pizza Place too. It’s an extremely laid back, casual atmosphere. They have great drink specials. The staff is super welcoming and friendly. You can even bring your dog and sit on the patio. It’s a great spot for a local hang out. The Pizza Place is one of my favorite pizza spots in Louisville. The taste of the pizza is right up there with some of the well-known local places around town. Stop by and grab a pizza. You’ll be glad you did.

I have loved everything about The Pizza Place. We just moved to the area and we’re looking for a new«local hangout» and that is exactly what we found. The food is good(and pretty cheap), the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is completely causal and welcoming. The pizza is great(nothing fancy– hence the 4stars) but consistent. We are always greeted with a smile and they have lots of buckets of cold domestic beer. If you are just looking for a place to watch a game or have a beer — they have more than domestic and pitchers — you should give this place a try. Don’t let the exterior fool you!

I’ve visited this place on and off for the last few years. There have been periods of time where the food quality is not consistent. In fact, I stopped going for a while.(When talking to the owner, it is always when staff changes.). I’ve been three times in the last 6 weeks and seems like they have a consistent crew again. The service isn’t great but it is super laid back. The pizza is awesome– try the supreme. Plenty of cheese, and you really can see all the ingredients because there are plenty of toppings on it. I personally think this pizza is much better than Impellizzeri’s or wicks. Truths supreme, you won’t be disappointed(I hope).

Pizza Place doesn’t look like much from the outside. It’s not fancy on the inside either. But the food is good and the staff is extraordinarily welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed the buffet. I got there after buffet hours were over, but they offered to make me anything on the buffet. As a bonus, Pizza Place has delicious freshly brewed iced tea.

Oh man, 4 of us from work went there because I had an expired Deal Chicken that I wanted to use. The three of them had a buffet, but I ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla. Best tasting quesadilla I’ve ever had, but it was actually more of a pizza. No complaints. The buffet looked very chinzy when we walked in, but I understand that’s because there wasn’t many patrons so they don’t make it until people actually come in. They asked my co-workers what kind they wanted and they made it. There was also salad and a cheeseburger soup that looked to die for. I would go back for sure if ever working in that area again.
