Constantly rotating single-origin signatures and wonderfully flavored cappuccinos make for a great cup of whatever you plan on getting. Baristas are very helpful when explaining drinks and it is never too crowded.

Spent one month in Louisville after living in Seattle for one month. Needless to say, I had a lot of coffee in Seattle — what many consider the«capital of coffee». This Sunergo location was my daily morning destination for lattes in the Louisville area and I can honestly say, the best and most consistent latte I’ve ever had. I was so sad to leave I actually drove here before l went to the airport to have one last cup. Places like this are what make this area so cool.

I originally had a three star review because the coffee was good and that in itself merits two extra stars. But I ended up changing it to the lowest score possible because my original review was removed and that’s …not nice. And now… the damage… My last review was removed because it contained«inappropriate content». I referred to some of the patrons of this establishment as «a broken sex toy» but with the«d» word instead. I also criticized the poorly trained staff(one female barista in particular) and some sad, interchangeable, beardy, hipster dudes. Oh yeah, and this place is a dump. Here are the reasons this dump sucks(and it ain’t the coffee): *The baristas are poorly trained. The beans are good, but there is an inconsistency in preparation. I have had watery drinks and very, very bitter drinks. Properly train your staff! **The baristas unprofessional behavior. The generic looking males have grunted at me the total of my sale, gave me a sarcastic answer when I asked about the origin of one coffee, and the«hippy» female barista’s loud and obnoxious behavior is beyond the pale. I can’t remember the last time they said :“thank you” after a sale. You guys work in customer service even though you like to pretend you don’t. ***This place is aesthetically a dump. It’s filthy I’ve never seen them wipe down the tables or the counters. Ever. There is trash all over the floor. It’s ugly.(Hint: IKEA or a consignment shop can help with this). They obviously take no pride in décor. ****No signage. The minions that wander in there have no concept of social cues. The staff just ignores them. Perhaps some signage of where to order and where to pick up order could change that. You hang UofL students’ artwork, contact them to create something for you. Pay them for it. You’re welcome. …and this little tidbit alone earns this shop 20 negative stars(if that were possible): ***** Another Unilocaler mentioned that the owner of this place is associated with a local, right-wing church. Reason alone to boycott, which is exactly what I’ll be doing! FEELTHEWRATHOFMYONESTARREVIEW! ****UPDATE05/12/2016**** I received a few emails regarding this review: The«Café Operations Manager» emailed me to ask when I was in Sunergos. After I voiced my concerns, he said that they are«working on getting a sign» and he would look into my concerns [as soon as he gets finished farting around on Unilocal]. Congratulations. I’m still not spending my money here.

If a coffee shop has nice music playing, good smells, friendly baristas, delicious tea and coffee… and are local… they will likely get 5 stars from me. I love local coffee shops! This particular shop has really tasty tea choices. They also have poptarts that are made locally and other tasty local snacks from Please and Thank You(scones, cookies, etc). This location is close to U of L’s campus too.

This coffee shop is conveniently located near UofL campus and hosts some of the best tasting coffee that Louisville has to offer. From an Ethopian Yirgacheffe to the Papua New Guinea, you can basically choose your flavor. It is a cozy spot with friendly faces that are always willing to lend you a smile when you walk in. By far one of the best coffee shops in Louisville!

I have rarely bought what I consider«expensive» coffee In quite a while because I have not been impressed by any I have tried and the employees are so pretentious. Today stopped by Nord’s but the were out of everything so we stopped in to give it a try, absolutely the best cup of coffee I have ever had! Carmel Latte was beyond belief! I now understand why this place a packed at 3:00 on a Friday. To top it off the staff were very friendly and polite. Very impressed will come back often.

I’m really not sure how to rate this coffee shop. Disclaimer: I’m not a big coffee drinker, but I absolutely love a delicious cup of chai tea latte(made with soy milk). I’m also not like a coffee shop hipster — I’m a mom with 2 toddlers, who are usually hanging all over me, and I’m in desperate need of a shot of caffeine… like everyday. Honestly, the neighborhood, and the interior of this coffee shop, seemed rather rough and a bit grungy. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but not unmanageable(parallel parked on the street). The line for ordering and receiving was really confusing, and I wasn’t the only one who thought so. This could have easily been remedied by the staff, who could have given us a bit of direction. Also, the shop desperately needs a makeover and a larger space. My chai tea latte was VERY delicious(despite the fact that I forgot to request soy milk); however, it’s not my favorite(see my review for La Grange Coffee Roasters), and toward to end, there were big gelatinous chunks of… cinnamon? Not very appetizing at that point, and quite disappointing for a small cup at nearly $ 5. I don’t think I’ll ever return to this location, unless I happen to be stopping at Nord’s Bakery next door.

I couldn’t believe it ! That would never happen anywhere else. HOWAWESOME is that !! #DrinkLocal ! Sunergos Coffee, Micro-Roastery

A very handsome gentleman just made the shizz out of my latte! Plus you can get fantastic doughnuts next door at Nords. ;) Sunergos has whole bean coffee for sale by the pound, highly skilled baristas, and a nice coffee shop vibe — NOTLIKE St*rb*cks, actually nice. Check it out, it’s worth the visit.

Recently met a friend here for coffee and conversation. Preston street location. Pleasant eclectic interior. Friendly and competent baristas. My coffee was good but did not taste fresh. I added half and half. All in all an excellent experience.

Are you looking for a quaint coffee shop to write a short novel or to scope out the latest trends on Pinterest? Then THIS is the place… And not to mention, the coffee is fantastic! The owner travels the world searching for the best coffee. The coffee beans range from countries such as Ethiopia, Columbia, Brazil, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Tanzania — to name a few. I mean who the heck wouldn’t want that as a job and hobby? As for the coffee, it was great! I never order lattes but the cute little heart inside everyones cup was pulling my heart strings a little. Andrew and I thought. what the heck? Why not?! We are both picky and when it comes to coffee, even pickier. The flavor was there, as well as the presentation. And let’s not forget that it is next door to Nords Bakery? Our only regret is not getting there early enough to dip the bacon doughnut in our heart carmel lattes!!!

This place was recommended to us by my brother who did his undergrad at UofL 10 years ago. This place is exactly what you want out of a coffee shop… Cool atmosphere, good coffee, good place to study or meet up with friends, just an all around comfortable place.

So I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but sunergos may make me one. I came here the other day, and ordered a caramel latte. Not only did it look beautiful, but it tasted great as well. However, best part is that I actually felt caffeinated and energized for the rest of the day. It’s rare that I’ll ever feel anything from coffee, much less a latte, without a shot of expresso but I did. So next time ditch the weak Starbucks stuff and head to sunergos Unlike the smaller downtown location, this Sunergos has seating room. You can stay and drink your coffee is the homey environment provided or take it to go. In addition, Nord’s bakery is right next to this sunergos, so you can get a sweet morning pick me up as well!

Like Lennon/McCartney, Jagger/Richards or Cuomo/Sharp. There are often things that are better together than they are separately. In that spirit this is a companion review for Sunergo’s Coffee and Nord’s Bakery next door. Each would be an amazing option on their own but they fit together to form the perfect combo. Not far from the Louisville Airport and the University of Louisville is a quaint neighborhood block. After finding easy and free street parking I picked up some donuts at Nord’s Bakery and headed over to Sunergos. As soon as you walk in you can smell the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. This a very comfortable café with tables and couches that lure you in and tell you to hang out. They have free wifi and plenty of outlets if you are looking to get some work done. I received a friendly greeting and ordered a cappuccino. I was lovingly served a truly memorable cup of coffee and settled into a comfy chair. They roast all their own beans and each offers descriptions that are actually as good as the tastes. I couldn’t resist purchasing an 8 oz bag of Sunergos Blend to take home with me. Now I have a delicious bit of Louisville in Fort Lauderdale.

Best coffee ever! Staff was very nice. Atmosphere was relaxing. After I ordered, I went to the restroom and when I returned, my drink was ready and they even created this awesome artwork from the froth. Keep up the good work Sunergos!

I reviewed the Sunergos on Woodlawn already. So there’s really no point in reviewing this Sunergos too. So this is what I’m going to do. I’m going to let you know that Sunergos is a great coffee shop that roasts the best coffee in Louisville. And if you have never been to Sunergos(any location), you’re really missing out. And now that I’ve informed you of that, I have nothing else to say. So here’s a recipe for a Double Chocolate Pie. 1(9 inch) pie crust, baked 1 ½ cups white sugar 4lbs Granulated Sugar 1⁄3 cup cornstarch ½ teaspoon salt 3 cups milk ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips 2(1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped 4 egg yolks, beaten Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a 2-quart saucepan. Stir in milk gradually. Add chocolate chips and unsweetened chocolate. Place over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Place egg yolks in a medium heatproof bowl. Gradually pour half of chocolate mixture into egg yolks, whisking constantly. Whisk egg yolk mixture back into mixture in saucepan. Place over medium heat and bring back to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla extract. Pour mixture into baked pie shell. Press a layer of plastic wrap onto filling. Refrigerate at least 4 hours but no longer than 48 hours. Remove plastic wrap before serving and top with whipped topping(if desired). Enjoy.

Great pulls on the espresso drinks. Good pastries offered. Super friendly staff. The most important thing to me for a coffee shop is the espresso. Is it flavorful? Is it extracted well?(2 separate components) place knows what to do with espresso.

Simply the best coffee roastery in a city that loves its coffee. Everyone who works here is passionate about what they do and I’ve never had a bad espresso drink in nearly a decade of coming here. Unbeatable. The drawbacks are that the seating is pretty bad(old tables and even older couches) and sometimes the line gets backed up but it’s worth it.

Friendly and laid back place. Parking sucks but that is how it goes in collegiate neighborhoods. I got the Chai latte and the Mrs. got the Caramel latte. Good stuff and good service!
