I am a huge fan of this place. I’ve gotten my hair cut here ever since I was a kid. Yes, it is more of a barber shop than a salon, but for $ 18 for a women’s haircut, it is hard to go wrong. And you don’t need an appointment, just walk right in! I came in last Saturday, April 2nd, and a nice young woman at the first chair on the left cut my hair from shoulder length to short. She was so patient with me and listened to what I wanted and gave me a really great cut that I’ve been getting compliments on all week! I’ll be back, as always.

This place is more of a barber shop than it is a salon, which is perfectly fine, but not a good place to go for a women’s cut. I simply wanted a trim and a little bit of layering and the gal made the cut uneven. I’m used to having my hair styled after I get it cut and when I asked she said she could try but they only had one flat iron that she wasn’t familiar with. Needless to say I left with my hair in a ponytail because it looked so frizzy. Will not be going back.

Quick«Cut» to the chase experience… I read the review from another Unilocaler Rachel F to get a quick basic woman’s cut at an inexpensive price. Now while I love my Wild Strawberry, something about paying $ 30 for basic trim is a little beyond what is reasonable. I am in between cut styles so going to a basic stylist would be perfect to get to the root of my problem. I found parking on the street pretty easily. I walked in and even though there were a couple stylists already cutting, a woman from the back walked out and helped me right away. I explained to her I was just doing a healthy trim and to take off about a ¼ inch. While she was chopping away I mentioned her the hair plan I was on… yes my more expensive stylist has me on a hair plan. The stylist gave me her«dr» check up professional opinion and said I was on the right path. She even took the time to highlight me to some extra pointers. She understood about needing a cheap cut and said to come back anytime. I was only charged $ 12 for my quick trim, which I think is because I did not have it styled. I will be back every new ¼ inch for sure! However, I am loyal with my color and styling to Wild Strawberry.

Went up by a dollar to $ 18 for a woman’s cut — still worth every penny. Stephanie is always friendly and I’ve always left with a spot-on cut. Just enough off and all prettily styled(it looks like this every 6 weeks or so — when I get my hair cut.) It falls nicely as well, with really solid layering to add some body and face framing.
