Prefer the bigger/other location, this spot is also great; cool stickers, tshirts, posters. Bought multiple items from both shops. Looking forward to returning, one day…

The WHY Louisville Store isn’t what I remember :(granted they had just had a big T-Shirt sale but the shirts used to be way better and they were out of most sizes. But they are still quirky as he¡¡ and I always enjoy being in there :)

This is the perfect place to get Louisville souvenirs for friends and family. They have unique gifts like leather journals with a horse embossed on the cover and Derby buttons, awesome vintage-feel t-shirt designs in a wide range of colors, as well as the more common stuff you’d be able to find at the airport, like key chains and mini bottles of bourbon. I’ll definitely be back here to score myself a tee and visit the colonel again.

If you have a sense of humor, check this place out to get a variety of shirts and more entertaining souvenirs. If you don’t then pass this up and let the rest of us enjoy it. The only issue here will be deciding what to buy and still leaving some money left for the bourbon trail.

Super fun joint to buy souvenirs and trinkets. They had a little bit of everything. I especially loved the shirts and the food products. We visited both the NULU and the Bardstown Rd. location. At least when we were there, the NULU location had a much better selection and variety.

First time at this newer location. Stopped in to exchange a few shirts. Didn’t have a receipt but the shirts still had the tags. The guy working was super nice and helpful and got my shirts exchanged quickly. He even joked about the music playing. Love their unique shirts, They even fit really well.

This WHY Louisville location — WHY Lou Two, as it’s also known — takes the kitsch found in its flagship store and bumps it up a notch. It has the T-shirts, knickknacks and art prints found in its shop on Bardstown Road and adds some oddities and occasional art shows. This place is as much for any tourist as it is for a townie. See the«Kentuckee Merman!» «Half Mammal. Half Fish. All Spooky.»(It looks like a mummified alien head on a fish body.) Witness Colonel Sanders, holding a bonified bucket of KFC!(A wax sculpture that WHY Lou sometimes parades around events via Hoveround.) And it carries almost any type of Kentucky knickknack that you could want, from items emblazoned with Abraham Lincoln’s visage to others with Louisville’s fleur-de-lis. Even if you don’t buy, it’s a blast to browse. But I definitely recommend you take a piece of Louisville — and this store — home with you.

Why Louisville owner Will Russell is a fine ambassador for the city, with equal parts appreciation for history, localism and culture as well as kitsch, pomp, and hucksterism. Functionally, the store should be here a long time because it’s situated at the heart of Louisville’s high-end renaissance, and tourists can pick up a nice gift here. Why Louisville cares about design(handsome t-shirts designed by local artists) and offers a lot of nice things with an appropriate sense of place. This location(the 2nd, following the one on Bardstown Rd) is pretty explicitly carnival-themed, with a wax Colonel Sanders reduced to a side show alongside other old carnival paraphernalia. The only thing in here that legitimately freaks me out is the enormous Noid costume(the old Domino’s pizza mascot). I don’t think the Noid is for sale, but if someone would please purchase it and make it go away, I’d be awfully grateful. Otherwise, I find the whole shtick very welcoming. My girlfriend enjoyed a 25 cent pony ride the last time we stopped in, and she only elicited stares from the under-5 crowd.
